What a versatile sketch we have over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog this week! I tend to be a little bit more liberal with my interpretation of each sketch. For me it's a starting point and my ending point can be quite different...lol. So.. my flower is a tree and my border has a few more layers and for my background I used some printed Paper Fundamentals. I used the woodgrain embossing folder from CTMH for the brown strips along the side. I wanted the woodgrain to be a little less deep so I placed a piece of cardstock on either side of the brown to cushion it a bit from the folder. What I ended up with was slightly less than what I wanted, but it's something I'll try again maybe with some thinner cardstock as cushions.
I love to see the different ways some people interpret a sketch. Some will turn it on it's side; some will change the shape; some will make a scrapbook page or other project. I love them all including those that are sticklers to remain truer to the sketch. Hop on over to Atlantic Hearts and check out all of the different takes on one sketch from this and past challenges. It really is fun!
The little tree is so cute. I love this sketch and plan to use it for a card even though I will be too late for the challenge.
