Sassy Owl loves her friends... and her coffee!
I'm doing the Happy Happy Joy Joy Dance right now! It's that time of year again and the Spring Coffee Lovers Hop is going on. So many awesome prizes and fun people and ... sigh... if only it weren't still tax season. But I'm doing my best to post something every day.
Just finished this one ... almost everything here can be found at the Cutting Café Shop and the Cutting Cafe' websites.
I just love the owls from the From Owl of Us stamp set.. and as you may know my favorite is Sassy Owl. You can get this set in The Cutting Café Shop where there are all kinds of cute springy items including this so adorable paper pack from Doodlebug, Spring Garden. This plaid is my favorite. And I thought of that sentiment and typed it up on my computer... I really wasn't sure where I was going to put it, but I finally figured it out.
Here I used the stacked owls to give Sassy a hand in getting up to get some of that oh so yummy coffee... and don't worry... she's sassy... but she loves her friends so they'll get their turn..
The tree stump... I was trying to think if I had one and then I remembered a Lawn Fawn set I got a while ago... it had skinny logs on it and I just stamped two side by side to make my stump. Those pretty flowers are from the new Wheelbarrow Deliveries set over at the Cutting Café Shop... the fern leaf was a leftover and the grass I cut by hand because I had a strip of that green left and wanted some grass.
This cup ... so pretty in those Doodlebug papers... is available at The Cutting Café and it's called Coffee Cup 2 and you can find all kinds of cool coffee cuts and other projects. You'll be seeing some more cool stuff here this week for sure. The coffee die is from Poppy Stamps and I bought it during the last coffee hop.
I have to tell this story... The straw was not in my original design... so I had designed the card in my head and had most of the pieces together and I had the thought... well, in this oh so not real scenario, why would an owl need help getting to the top of the cup?? It can fly! And then I thought well, who cares... but I couldn't shake it.. it was bothering me and I knew the card would bother me and then the straw came to me... because, yes, an owl could easily fly to the top of the cup, but how hard would it be for her to suck the coffee up a straw if she was trying to balance in the air?? So, now it's a perfectly believable scene. No one will question it. It makes sense. Yes... this is how my mind works. Now you know.
Come back tomorrow for more and please play along! It's so much fun and you will meet so many nice people and maybe even win some stuff!
Adorable!!
