Welcome to the October Release Party! Today is the day you can buy all of the new Paper Sweeties products in the shop! And here is what I've created for you today:
So the new Basket Stamp and Basket Sweet Cuts are pretty awesome! I decided instaed of using the stamp set as a basket, that it might make a cool background. And I used those pretty snowflakes and another awesome sentiment from Merry Little Christmas.
To make the background, I used the Window Elements Sweet cuts two cut out 12 stitched rectangles. Then I stamped the basket pattern on them with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.
Then again, so as not to cover up my background, I stamped some snowflakes on the center heart cut from vellum using the With Love Sweet Cuts. I embossed them in white and then heated it up again and sprinkled some gold embossing powder on it to add a little bit of gold to the snowflakes... I like the look and I'll definitely use that again. Then I added some more versamark to the edges of the heart and heat embossed in gold... I think I went a little heavier than I intended, but I don't mind. I cut the With Love heart doily again out of some pretty gold linen textured paper that I had in my stash.
As I often do, when I like a particular die cut paired with a certain paper and I have some scraps left, I usually cut a few extra instead of throwing it out or having extra scraps laying around. I had some extra leaves from the music note paper and used it here again... I love the look of it with these flowers from my stash. And of course... those gold sequins.... LOVE!
This sentiment came as one stamp, but I actually cut it into two... now! ... don't get freaked out! It's O.K. I know I could just use masking to stamp the two lines separately, but I felt I might use them separately often enough that it would be worth just separating them... so I did! It's not something I do often and mostly I tend to do it with sentiments. I cut two banners using the Sweet Cuts Borders out of the gold linen paper and heat embossed them in white.
I'm linking up to the October Anything Goes Challenge over at D.L. Art Blog! You should check it out!
So that's me for today! So thank you again and now it's time to hop around and see what the rest of the team has cooked up for you... you won't regret taking a few minutes to check it all out! And come back tomorrow for the Release Rewind!
