Coffee Hop Day 6 and a 70th Birthday!

Welcome to Day 6 of the Coffee Lovers Hop!  I've gone rogue on this one... I used so many different things here and I think they look pretty good together!

So one of the girls at work is turning 70 tomorrow!  Yes... she's still at work... but then again, her husband is retired and he cooks and cleans so why not work?

So let's start with this!  This friend o' mine is the one who makes sure the coffee is on every morning when she gets in.  She loves coffee even more than I... and I really do think she'd rather have coffee than cake... I mean... I know!  Why choose ... why not both??  But if she had to... it would be coffee.  So I used one of the cups from a Verve stamp set, Coffee Helps.. love that set and isn't that cup beautiful... embossed it in silver and colored in the background with my copics.  I also used one of my favorite CDD dies, Winter Wonderland for the foliage and Party Dies for the candle!

I needed a large poinsettia so I turned to my Flower Market Cricut Cartridge from CTMH.  The loopy foliage is from Winter Wonderland dies and the larger leaves are from a My Favorite Things foliage die set, Leafy Greenery.

And I must tell you... this Oh Happy Day die from Simon Says Stamp... um... LOVE!   I cut it out once out of white and again out of the blue metallic and offset them just a bit.  I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Let There Be Snow Challenge!

I guess this is a good time to talk about the background too... I used some royal blue cardstock and some glittery embossing paste and I love the way it turned out.

So, another coworker had a big blue button she wanted me to incorporate in the card that said Aged to Perfection.  It wasn't something that I wanted to be the main focus because as big as it was it would have been... so I attached it temporarily on top of my vellum scalloped circle made with the CDD Stitched In Circle Dies and then used the same die set to cut my metallic blue circle that I adhered temporarily to the button and built the rest of my flowery cluster on that.  So after she opens and reads her card, I can take the button off so she can wear it and re-attach the flowers.. I have the redline tape in my purse as we speak...lol!

And do you see those pretty cupped and snowflake shaped sequins all over?  Those are my favorite Paper Sweeties sequins... they're all from the winter mix and it is pretty beautiful!

And last but truly not least, these prety balloons out of the metallic ... the balloons and strings are from the Party dies and the bow is from the Craftin Desert Divas Shaker Tag Dies.

So thanks for stopping by!  Come back tomorrow for some Cutting Cafe coffee goodness and whooooo knows what else!

You still have a couple days to play along!
