It's been too long since I played along over at the Paper Smooches Blog! But when I saw this month's Christmas In July inspiration photo I knew I had to get over there before the end of this one!
Initially I thought I'd start with some red and white striped paper and then when I was perusing my Paper Smooches sets I stumbled upon the Debonair Stamp Set which includes three cool background strips and the argyle is one of them. I used my Misti to line everything up correctly and originally I thought I'd make a nice RED RED background using my awesome Gina K Red Velvet ink because it's pretty awesome like that, but I liked the way it looked distressed the first time around so I decided that was what I'd go with! It was pretty easy to line these up using the Misti... so glad my mom made me use one and bought me one! Thanks, Mom! And after I stamped the background, I splattered some Heidi Swapp White Color Shine for good measure. It's barely noticeable, but it made me happy anyway!
I decided to use these two from the Chubby Chums stamp set because I'm also playing along with the Outlawz Twisted Thursday which has a twist of Wags and Whiskers this week! PLUS they are adorable!! I colored them up and cut them out. I added some Snowflakes cut from white glitter paper to the background and then popped up my Chubby Chums over them. I decided they better be drinking some cocoa because it's so chilly out (and it fits the inspiration photo) so I cut two cups from the Coffee and Tea dies. I bought these cute santa hats at my Local Scrapbook Store, The Paper Collage and it was perfect for the pup! He's so fun!
I'm also playing along with the Double Trouble and Heart2Heart Challenges going on right now! The theme for both is Christmas in July... Double Trouble is a fun challenge that collaborates with other challenges and this time around it's Heart2Heart... check out each of their posts for their individual rules.
Love this Seasons Greetings die and decided it was the ticket for this one! I cut it three times in red, stacked and mounted it on white and then fussy cut around it... popped it up and done!
So that's me for today! Hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to hop on over and play along with Paper Smooches! You have to use at least one Paper Smooches product and you could win one of three $15 gift codes!
Sooooooooo cute! LOVING the little Santa hat on the pup!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable and love the sentiment raised and layered against your personalized red argyle background (you're welcome) and your identifiable signature, of course, cups. You have inspired me to create a card for Paper Smooches. Thanks for sharing with Double Trouble and Heart2Heart.
ReplyDeleteThose Chubby Chums are so cute and I love the way you put them over that fantastic festive background.
