Painting With Glitter - Miss Ink Stamps

Welcome back!  It's a new month and I've got a new technique I'm playing with this month.  Heidi from Miss Ink mentioned Painting With Glitter and she dared me so here we are!

I'll be using the adorable Say Cheese stamp set I think for my projects this month along with a few other things!  I just love the adorable little dressed up mice and companion critters in this set!!  Aren't they adorable??  I stamped, cut out, and colored my images and added some of the pretty daisies from the Springtime Bunnies set.

I started my background by ink blending some Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides through the Sunburst Stencil.  Then I added some orange and yellow chunky glitter from my stash into a little watercolor tray and added some Glossy Accents and stirred.  Then I took a paintbrush and painted the glitter onto the sunrays.. the Glossy Accents gave the entire stenciled area a beautiful sheen, but the glitter pieces were spread out and flat. I left the center of the sun glitterless so that my little critters wouldn't get lost in all of the sparkle..

As soon as I was done, I rinsed out the tray and my brush and then used some Dazzle Dust in pink to paint the little mouse's skirt and the flowers.  It's a fun and easy way to add just a little glitter without it getting too messy and bumpy and since it's thin, it dries quickly!  I added the photo frame from Trinity and then used foam tape to add all of my images in and outside of the frame!

Finally, I added some Watercolor Butterflies and Trinity sequins!

That was fun!  I've already got ideas for the next one and can't wait to try it out!  Thanks for stopping and come again soon!
