Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #141

Here we are ... the first Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for 2016.  Loved this sketch because it was so versatile and easy for me to decide what I wanted to do.  I am loving this Beloved Bouquet January Stamp of the Month. It's so pretty with almost any color scheme.  I used it for this one with the La Vie En Rose paper and it makes a perfect Valentines Card.... I wonder who this will be for....

I did have a hard time deciding which papers and reds to use from the pack... took me a while to get the right mix, but I was happy with the result.  This paper pack is gorgeous and mixes a couple different reds and pinks.  This is difficult for me because I often will spend a long time matching up just the right reds.  In order to make it work in my head I had to use all of the colors and then some.

I've been really liking the look of a white sentiment on black cardstock so I used that for this one... stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it in white.  As you can see, I'm a little sloppy with my embossing powder... but I don't mind a little oversplash...lol!  I kind of like things imperfectly perfect.  And... that beautiful button is from the Funkie Junkie Boutique, and the sequins are from Paper Sweeties, as well as the ribbon.

So head on over to Atlantic Hearts blog and check out this week's sketch, last week's artwork, and maybe you'll decide to play along.  By Wednesday last week's winners and the design team projects for this week will be up.  You have until Sunday to link up your project.  Lots of time... try something new in the new year and welcome back to those of you that have been playing along for a while now.

  2. Beautiful card. I am on vacation but have this paper and the SOTM set with me. So in order to case this card, I'm either going to the store for daubers or using my eye shadow sponge because I just love the shadow behind the flower. Q-tips! I have those!
