Fabulous Foiling and Fluttering Away!

So!  The Fall 2017 Installment of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is finished.  You'll be able to tell because every card I make won't have coffee in it..lol!  But don't think you won't still see plenty here!  Most of my creations are caffeine fueled so there has to be some respect for the Java Gods in my crafty space!

I wound down yesterday by getting crafty with some friends.  I still had quite a few comments to make so I brought my laptop and just some stamps, paper and my watercolor pencils and brush.  Mostly I colored all day (and gabbed and laughed and learned how to do foil and made maybe 10 comments because the Wifi where we were was TERRIBLE!!) Anyway... that awesome background above, and that beautiful butterfly were a couple things I did while I was there...

I had cut a bunch of these Brutus Monroe butterflies out last week when I had the Brother Scan N Cut humming away.  I like to do that... when I have it out, I just stamp and cut all kinds of stuff.  So I took them with me yesterday and colored a few in some pretty colors ...  AND my friend Mare was so kind to bring her Minc and show us how to use the foil and not only is it super easy, but it's awesome!!  I brought some of the foil ready backgrounds with me like this one from Brutus Monroe and foiled away... was so lucky to have this one ready for this morning when I started this Retirement card for one of my lucky coworkers!

I used this sentiment for the card because very soon she will be able to... you know.. Do more of what makes her happy!  I added the CTMH sentiment to a piece of colored vellum and love it!  See that pretty bling?  That was also in my Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box .. they are so beautiful!!

I added some Wink of Stella to the wings for some added sparkle... as if there isn't enough sparkle & shine on this one.  I cut the Waffle Flower doily (one of my very favorite dies) in purple metallic and used some premade paper flowers in white, a very pretty and light orange and purple.  I cut some leaves from vellum using an MFT die and they were the perfect touch!

And this foil!!! Can you say awesome?  This background came foil ready in my Brutus Monroe What A Hoot Box.  I got some in the Butterfly one too, but this one was foiled and ready and perfect!

I am going to be doing this more often for sure!  We had so much fun and got so many ideas from Mare Hepp, Mary Twentyman and Jean Chaney that my mind is ready to explode!  This foil is called "Sequins" and it's pretty cool, right?  I'll be sharing more about this soon, but for now... just let your eyes take it in!

And I almost forgot to mention these awesome background layering dies from Waffle Flower... this is a 5x7 card ... !  The largest outside layer is 5x7.   I needed a larger card for this because a lot of people will be signing it so I was happy to finally crack these open and I think there might be more of this size card in my life now that I can have my stitched layers... 'cause a sewing machine ain't happenin' around here in the near future!

So that's that!  I know I've been neglecting my favorite places while commenting on over 1200 coffee posts, but I will be visiting you soon!!  With recaptcha rearing it's ugly head (if you don't know what that horror is, consider yourself lucky) it was taking me twice as long so I stuck with coffee hopping for last week and I'll be back to my regular visits tonight and this week so I will see you soon!   And I have some shopping on my list... you know... things Amy made me realize I needed during the hop (along with a few other enablers out there!) I appreciate all of my bloggy friends so much and thanks for your patience.  AND I will be picking the winners for the bracelets soon also... so hang onto your coffee cups!

Thanks for stopping by today and every other time you've stopped and hope to see you again soon!  Atlantic Hearts is this week and I'm guesting on the Coffee Lovers blog one more time this month!  Have a wonderful week!
