Poppy Stamps Challenge - Get Your Spook On!

I'm excited to be guesting with Poppystamps this month for their monthly challenge!  This month's theme is Get Your Spook On!  I used some great Poppystamps products to make this cute Halloween card.

I started by cutting some spider webs and then used repositionable adhesive and layed them out on the panel.  Then I sprayed some Distress Oxide Sprays over the top and splattered some paint.  Then I peeled the spider webs off.  Next I sprayed Glitter Dust over the top (including my webs because of course I'm going to use those eventually!  I set the panel aside to dry.

I cut that cute little witch from Copic Friendly paper and colored each piece and then assembled them using the pic on the packaging as a guide.  Then I cut the ghost and pumpkin I cut along with my webs and colored the pumpkin orange.  I placed a purple piece of cardstock behind it.  Finally I cut the Happy Halloween in purple glitter paper and the shadow from black and then arranged everything on the background.  Finally a few sequins and done!

Be sure to hop on over to Poppystamps for more inspiration and to play along!

Thanks for stopping!  I hope you'll come again soon!

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #18 - Christmas Happens

It's time for a new challenge over at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge blog!  This month our sponsor is Rubbernecker Stamps and the theme is Christmas, Coffee, and Masculine!  We have an awesome prize for one random winner too!

Link up for your chance to win!  Head over to the Caffeinated Christmas Card blog for all of the details!

I have two cards for you today because I'm on the CCCC design team and the Rubbernecker Stamps design team, so I made one for each!

I used that adorable owl coffee set, Words Can't Espresso for both and added some Christmas to the sentiments from the set with some creative masking (and I may or may not have cut apart some because I'm probably going to do this again!)

For this one, I created the background using the Plaid layered stencil set and used blues and greens and a bit of yellow for a more masculine feel.

For this one, I used a plaid background die.  I also added santa hats to both from another cute owl set in the shop.

I have links to all of the products I used at the end of this post as well as links to all of the other caffeinated items available in the Rubbernecker shop!  (There are a lot!)

I'm playing along with the Double Trouble Challenge Blog Masculine challenge and I added plaid for the twist.  I also added blue for a third item from the Festive Friday Challenge Inspiration Graphic to play along over there too!

Be sure to check out both and play along!

Now head on over to the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge blog for more inspiration and to link up!  Huge thank you to Rubbernecker Stamps for being our sponsor!

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C513 - Inspiration Photo

I've had this much fun this month hanging out with the ladies over at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog!  Thanks to them for having me!

This week we have an Inspiration Photo for you:
When I first saw this photo I thought of rain...and then I realized that the glow from that big beautiful yellow umbrella was really what drew my eye.  Here's how I was inspired:

I do love that steely gray background in the photo and it made me think of this Foil from Brutus Monroe.  I used the Jitters stencil from Miss Ink to apply some Deco Foil Transfer Gel to my cardstock panel and then ran it through my Minc with the Foil.  With the flecks of black, silver, and gold and the vertical lines of the stencil I got the feel of that background.. with a little bit of shine!

Then I pulled out the beautiful Gardenia stamp set from Miss Ink and decided although probably you don't see yellow Gardenias usually, in this craft world of mine, why not??  I needed to recreate that beautiful hopeful glow of the yellow umbrella so I did.  I chose to further highlight it using this circle frame from MFT to create a shaker and I had the perfect mix (I believe it's an old CDD mix).  It had the silver, black and yellow (including yellow flowers!) in it as if it was made for this card.

And I decided this would be a happy card.. it's a congrats for anything!  Maybe an anniversary?  Or really any occasion worth celebrating.  That Woot! from the Everyday Sentiments set... just HAD to use it!

And then a Congratulations and another flower at the top along with a few more sequins.

So there you have it!   How are you inspired by that photo?  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping and hope you'll come back soon!

Caffeine Fueled Paper Play Reminder With A Jillian Vance Design

Just a quick reminder that you have through the end of the month to play along over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers with the Caffeine Fueled Paper Play Challenge for November!  A Jillian Vance Design is the sponsor and you could win the new Hug In A Mug stamp set!

I used one of the sentiments from the set along with the dies from the Coffee, Tea & Me set:

I started with that fantastic paper from a Tim Holtz Christmas pad and kept the rest black and gold aside from my white sentiment.

Love this cup!  You can use it with or without the embellishment die.

And I can't say enough about that steam... my absolute favorite steam die!  The Coffee word die as well as a Tea word die are also included in the set.

And that sentiment from Hug In A Mug??...lol!  Just one of the many cute and funny sentiments (along with a really great cup image and seasonal images to go along with it).

So!  Hope you'll play along!   You have until the 30th at 11:55pm!  You can find the linkup and rules at this post here!

And don't forget Stampalooza is still going on... while supplies last get some great deals on some awesome products!

Thanks for stopping and come again soon!

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C512 - Be Inspired By A Card You Received

It's time for a new Crazy 4 Challenges challenge and this week is different!  The challenge is to choose a card that someone sent you and create your card using inspiration from that one!  I chose a card sent to me by my bloggy friend, Teresa at TheresasCraftyCreations!

Here's the inspiration card:

So beautiful, right?  I was so lucky to be the recipient!  And here's how I was inspired:

I loved Theresa's beautiful and shimmery blended background.  I used a couple reds making it lighter as I worked my way to the top right corner.  I actually did my ink blending first this time.  I'd like to say I did it on purpose, but it was a happy accident.  When I realized I still had to emboss but had already started blending, I decided to just keep going.  I figured I'd try just drying it with my heat gun and then swiping on some anti static powder.

After I got done blending the ink, I used the powder and then stamped on the single flowers from the Woodcut Floral background stamp set from Miss Ink with Versamark.  when I added the embossing powder, some did stick in a few places and I decided I didn't really mind!  Once I heated it up it kind of added to the cool look of the background.  And lastly I sprayed on some Inkon3 Liquid Pixie Dust and patted it dry to lift more of the ink.

I love how it turned out!

I created my sentiment in a similar way as on the inspiration card as well!  I used the Celebrate die from the Streamers set and part of a sentiment from the new Season's Greetings set.

I hope you'll come and play along with us over at Crazy 4 Challenges!  Pick out a card you received that inspires you and create something then link it up!

Thanks for stopping and come again soon!

Crazy 4 Challenges - CFC510 Texture

Happy to be guesting over at Crazy 4 Challenges this month!  This weeks' challenge is all about texture!

I created texture on my card with some Thermoweb Champagne Mist Metallix Deco Foil Gel.  I used the Knit Stitch Cover Plate from A Jillian Vance Design and cut a panel out of some very thin cardboard to create a stencil.  It will last for a few uses I'm sure!  One of my favorite purchases recently was a Thermoweb Stencil Pal.  I use a spatula to apply the Gel and then drag the Stencil Pal over the top and it smooths it out and takes off the extra.  Then I can just scrape the extra back into the jar and my stencil is good for another go.

Then I took the opportunity to use my first monthly kit I received from Stamps of Life, the Pinecone sets are AWESOME!  I used just the die set here, but I signed up for the Stamp/Die Club and so far I have no regrets... love these!  This Season's Greeting phrase die along with the background is in the set....

As well as the pinecones and pine needles.  There are also berry dies, but I decided to use up some of my embellishments instead!

Hope you'll come on over to the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and play along with us this week!

Thanks for stopping and be sure to come back soon!

We're all sharing some inspiration for you today and we can't wait to see what you create!

Here's how I was inspired:

I love the Huggable Critters Fri-dies yet!  It's a huge set all ready to create four adorable critters that are ready to hug whatever you wish.. a gift card, a sentiment... big enough to create a card with them, and small enough to fit on a standard A2 card front with room for embellishment!  Just check out the samples over in the shop!  But there is so much more that can be done with the pieces parts in this set!  And really if you use your imagination so many more critters that you can make!

I used the kitty cat parts today along with the To Go Cup Fri-Dies to create an adorable cup of coffee that I'd buy in a heartbeat!

SO cute!  I embossed the Bubble Box die cut with an embossing folder for a backdrop for my cup and then built my sentiment using the Meow from the adorable Little Huggables stamp set that has all kinds of cute and punny critter sentiments on it and part of a sentiment from the fun Time For Coffee stamp set along with...

The Coffee word die included in the Coffee Cup Fri-Dies set!  Love the size and font of this word die... my fave Coffee word die I dare say!

And that's me for today!  Hope you'll join us over at the CAS-ual Fridays Blog!  Check out what everyone has created and then play along!  Happy Creating!!

And check out the Sale and Retiring sections over at the shop too!   Should you see something you must have, I also have this for you:
