Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge - December 2016

Welcome to December's Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge!  Such a pretty Mood Board isn't it?  I found inspiration from the red and aqua colors and Christmas theme of course!  And here is what I've created for you!

I am also playing along one more time with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags at Tracey McNeely's Blog.  I got inspiration from Amy Sheffer's tag on Day 25.  Loved the chalkboard look with the white stamped houses on it... I thought presents would do the trick!  And the red sentiment tag with a white sentiment.  I didn't have any aqua sequins so I added the pretty Paper Sweeties polka dot and striped papers from the Merry & Bright paper pad.

I just love red and aqua together for Christmas and really any other time as well

I decided to add a little mini tag to my tag... I love making shakers out of the Tag Sweet Cuts sets!  I used the present from Stitched Tags #3 and cut two presents... one from the patterned paper and one for my backing.  I used glitter paper for the back piece for some extra sparkle.  Then I cut my shaker window using the small heart from Stitched Tags #1.

I used the sentiment from Holly Jolly Christmas and also that little bow ...

So thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you are inspired by the inspiration photo... I'll definitely be using this all month for inspiration!  And be sure to check out all of the Design Team projects... they are pretty awesome!

And there is so much going on this month over at Paper Sweeties not to mention that the prize for the Inspiration Challenge is $100!!  Specials and prizes, daily posts from DT and special guests all month and we're participating in the Visions of Sugar Plums Hop!!  So be sure to check back often and if you're not already on the Facebook Group join us here!  You can still join the Inspiration Challenge by linking up to the blog or just add your photo and post in the Facebook Group!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #188

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I used some PML cards from the CTMH Happy Happy Christmas Picture My Life set.  I also flipped the sketch... I wasn't going to, but when I embossed the wrong side of my "Joy" sentiment, luckily there was one on the other side going the opposite way so I decided to flip the sketch!

I used the Circle Embossing Diffuser to protect the Joy Circle from being embossed.   In this case, I used the plate with the circle cut out... put the card in the CTMH Snowflake Embossing Folder,  placed the Plate with the open circle over the sentiment area, and ran it through my Big Shot... where the open circle was, it relieved the pressure from the Big Shot so it didn't emboss that area.

That pretty pattern was a 4x6 PML card.  I thought it kind of looked like a sweater so I embossed it with my Richard Garay Sweater Embossing Folder (one of my new favorites).  Added some white and gold twine and pinecones from the Oh Deer Scrapbooking Workshop and a couple red bells and a white flower from my stash.

I'm playing along with the Between The Folds Challenge #35 A to use glitter and bling on your project.  I added a snowflake cut from glitter paper using the Snowflakes Thin Cuts and some pretty gold sequins.

And here is the sketch... cock your head to the right and you'll see my card!  Hope you can play along with us this week!  Thanks for stopping and be sure to come back on the 1st for some Paper Sweeties Inspiration!

And don't forget about the Cyber Monday special going on today!

Brentwood and Small Business Saturday!

Hey there!  So excited to share with you a digital stamp available from JessicaLynnOriginal for free right now as part of the Black Friday/Small Business Saturday weekend celebration!  Not to mention an awesome sale over at JessicaLynnOriginal.com!

I've used the Merry Christmas Snowman Penguina and Brentwood Owl free digi on a couple projects today:

When I saw this image I thought it would look great in say a snow globe so I cut a glass bottle shape using my Cricut and added a window to it so I could make a shaker out of it.

Isn't Brentwood a cutie?  And don't you just love his little friends??

I tied some seam binding ribbon around the neck of the bottle and added some sprigs, a pinecone and a snowflake there...

And also to the bottom of the jar..

With my second project, I'm also playing along with Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags!  You should check it out!  I was inspired by Lisa Elton's tag here.  The sparkly star shaker... I made mine using my Cricut as well... the star didn't leave enough room on the edges for a real shaker so once again, I made a faux one...

I just glued some sequins and some beads underneath my top layer and then popped up the top layer .

I added the Brentwood and Friends image to my tag along with some sprigs behind him just like my inspiration tag.

And I topped it off similar to Lisa's as well.... red... striped fiber... a big bow and some bells at the top...I love this color scheme!

Anywho!  Be sure to get on over to the site at JessicaLynnOriginal.com and do some shopping!  There is a big sale going on right now... just use the code: blackfriday!  You can get 25% off of ALL of the stamps in stock... that includes those that are already discounted so.... what are you waiting for??

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #187

Welcome to this weeks' Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I'm also playing along with Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags and the Muse Christmas Visions Challenge 71!  I was inspired by Chriss beautiful gold tag... the gold on the vellum was so beautiful I added some to my poinsettias.  I was also inspired by Tracey's tag on Day 18... the kraft with the red was so pretty hence my pop of reds on here!

So this week's sketch has a ton going on in it so it was quite the challenge to get all of the elements in here, but I think I did it!  If you look closely you can see I have the two base elements... the large rectangle is my half doily and urn from the CDD Urn Dies and the right rectangle is represented by the twigs from the CDD Winter Wonderland Dies (quickly becoming one of my favorites).  The tag was cut with CDD's Shaker Tag Dies.

Of course, I added the poinsettias from the Winter Wonderland dies where the flowers are and my sentiment is in the right place although not quite so large... so yeah... oh!  And the ribbon represents the strip under the flowers... there!

These poinsettia dies from the Winter Wonderland set.. um... yum!  And in vellum with some Nuvo Gold Mousse smeared on them... um... yummer...lol!  I punched the berries out of some gold metallic paper.  The leaves behind the poinsettias are from the same die set and I cut them from GOLD vellum... yup... got it so long ago and I don't even know where... I hope I can find more when my stash is depleted!

And the cute little birdie from the CDD Fall Hall Digis.. so cute in red!  And all of the natural twigs, leaves, berries are from the Winter Wonderland Dies also... like I said... fave!

So thanks for stopping by!  This will probably be all from me for a few days... don't miss me too much :) !  Here's the sketch... come and play along!

The Cutting Cafe Inspiration-Shaker Tags

Welcome to this week's inspiration from The Cutting Cafe!  It's an Anything Goes week and I've decided to create some shaker tag/ornaments!  I'm also playing along with Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  I was inspired by the colors of Daniela Dobson's tag from Day 11 and the shaker and the gold, white and shaker element from Julie Warner's tag from Day 12.

So!  On to what I've created for you today:

I LOVE the shaker files from The Cutting Cafe!  You may remember I used them a while ago to make a snowflake canvas and card and also an acorn canvas.  For the tag/ornaments I made today I used the Christmas Shaker Card set.   I imported the SVG version of the files and changed the size according to the instructions that came with them.  Then I ungrouped them and kept only what I needed (the files come with pieces for both a card and an ornament).  Then I regrouped the images I kept and made them smaller as a group so that all of the pieces fit together properly and they were small enough to tie to a package or gift bag...

This, of course, is the snowglobe shaker.  I just love blue, white and gold together... and so does Sassy Owl... she thinks it makes her look fabulous....

I'd have to agree.... and I love the Clear Cardstock from The Cutting Cafe Shop... it's perfect for shakers and a lot of other stuff too!

I also love the movement in a shaker ... and the cute little shakey sound they make.

For the mitten, I knew I'd want to use my sweater embossing folder on it... and I filled it with all kinds of cute little buttons, some CDD Christmas sequins, and some little seed beads.. and those adorable little acrylic images I picked up at Hobby Lobby last year.

And it was fun to wrap the eyelash yarn around the wrist to create my fuzzy cuff on my mitten.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you come back soon!  And be sure to check out the post at the Cutting Cafe Blog on the 21st to check out all of the Design Team makes!  I can't wait to see which files they all decided to use this time around!

I know I've been here a lot this week and next week will be a little slower because one of my boys is coming to visit so I won't have a lot of crafty time.... but hopefully I'll see you Monday for Atlantic Hearts!  And don't worry... Owl Be Back!

Simon Says Stamp and Stamp Junkies

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you're not familiar with the Stamp Junkies Facebook group you should be!  If you love stamping and sharing and/or seeing what everyone is up to in the creative stamping world, you should be a part of this group!  Love and respect abound!  And there are challenges!  This month Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring a challenge and the prize is a $50 gift certificate to their store.. LOVE!

So last month I had a workshop and for it I cut quite a few Happy and Heart diecuts using the CTMH dies and I found when doing so I had a couple cute overlays leftover from the negative space.  I knew I'd use them so I saved them and I used one of them here over a piece of watecolored cardstock with some pretty pinks and gold.

The challenge is to use a Simon Says Stamp image or products that you bought from SSS and honestly I hadn't shopped at Simon Says Stamp yet.  During Stamptember I saw an awesome die that I wanted, but not knowing about Stamptember I didn't get there soon enough... a special item and it was gone... but I started looking around and this is a pretty cool store!  Lots of SSS brand items and so much more.  You should really check it out here!

So also in my usual fashion, I did want to make this a shaker and I forgot to add the clear cardstock before I put my adhesive pop ups all over the back of my overlay... so I decided to make it a faux shaker... There are times when I forget and I'm able to pull it back off and add the clear cardstock, but I had stuck it on there pretty good and I don't have an issue with faux when it comes to creating!

So back to Simon Says Stamp... I placed an order... but it was so close to the due date for the challenge I didn't know if it would come in time and then I remembered!  SSS was an awesome sponsor of Copic Bootcamp when I went last Spring and they gave everyone one of these adorable elephant Birthday Celebration sets!  OMG... isn't she the cutest?  The Elephant, the sentiments, and the starts are all from the stamp set.

I've been loving using vellum for my sentiments so as not to cover up too much of my design... especially when I don't have a lot of room left for the sentiment!  What's your secret adhesive to use for this?  I try to hide mine behind the sentiment and sometimes it works and others not so much... what do you do?

Thanks for stopping today... there is one more day to play along with this challenge... it's over Saturday November 19th and a winner will be drawn on Sunday.  And if you haven't shopped with Simon Says Stamp then maybe you should go check it out!
