Crafty Elves' Countdown to the Holidays - May 2020 Edition

Welcome to the May Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas!  We are four crafty friends who have committed to making a Christmas card a week for the year so that when Christmas comes all of our cards are made and all we have to do is mail them out!  We share them each month on the 25th of the month and that's today!

And this month we have a special guest crafty friend joining us!

Our lineup today is:

Lisa (You Are Here)

and our special guest:

Without further ado... here is how I was inspired:

I have been coloring these pups from Art Impressions all month and then put the cards together all at once.   The stamp set is Santa Paws and you can find it here!

I'm playing along over at the Art Impressions All Layered Up Challenge!  I LOVE layers... I love to create little mini scenes using various stamps and diecuts... and usually I throw a frame in there too...and lots of different thicknesses of foam tape.  This challenge was made for me!

I started with the awesome Trinity Slimline Frame and Fold die set to create this cute mini card and used the photo frame cut for my mini scenes!

Honestly I don't know which of these pups is my favorite....

I was trying to decide what design papers to use and then I landed on these cute papers from Doodlebug... an old pad from prior years...and it was perfect because I'm playing along over at Double Trouble's Brown Bag-It Day Challenge which is all about the Kraft!  I cut the squares to fit perfectly by using the photo frame die again and saved the frames for a future project because they're kinda cute!... ok... VERY cute!

To create my scenes, I used the Slimline Scenic Border Die Set for the snow and cut it down to 2 1/2" lengths to fit in the frame; the little house in the background is from Trinity's Tall Shaker Dome Die Set; and the trees are from Paper Smooches Holiday Sweets Dies.  I just  used some of the strips from the Doodlebug papers as a pseudo sentiment to save time and I love them!

And of course there is some coffee included!!  We're in the middle of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop don't ya know!  Click on the link to check it out if it's new to you and hope you play along!  Tons of sponsors and chances to win for linking up new projects... get all the details in the main hop post.

For this one I did at an additional sentiment because I thought the one from The Rabbit Hole Designs Caffeinated Reindeer stamp set was perfect.  And that cute little cup is from the new Cozy Cup Die Set... I love that she included this in there!!  I am going to be using it a lot!  And I made it a Christmas mug by positioning it over a little Santa in the Doodlebug paper.

That's me for today!  Be sure to check out everyone's projects... links are at the beginning of the post!  And now for my happy mail winner from last month's post:

Theresa!  Whoop!  Send me your address puhlease!

And to Vanessa from last month... I have not yet mailed yours... I just got some stamps in from the post office as I haven't been physically going there... so I'm hoping to send out both on Tuesday!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me some love!  I'm playing again this month and I'll choose someone from any comments left to send some happy mail to!  Come again soon!!

Double Trouble Guestie! - A Recipe, A Sketch and A Twist

Excited to be guesting over at Double Trouble Challenges this month!  Yup, I'm the Crazy Cousin for August!  This is me:

For the first challenge of August DT is partnering with Try Stampin' on Tuesday!

The challenge at Double Trouble is a Recipe.  Use at least three colors; at least two design papers; and at least one sentiment or image!

For extra chances to win, play along at Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Sketch Challenge.  And even better, use the twist from DT's Twisted Sister which is Nautical!  I've got all of my bases covered with this one!

I've been wanting to ink up the adorable Whale Of A Time stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs and thought this was the perfect opportunity!

The Make A Splash stencil from Funky Fossil was perfect to add some embellishment!  I applied some Decofoil Transfer Gel using the stencil; foiled in Gina K Turquoise Sea Fancy Foil and fussy cut them out.  I used Doodlebug Patterned papers; the shaker frame was cut with the Stitched Circle Frames Die-Namics from MFT and filled with sequins from Ink Road Stamps.

That's me for today!  Now be sure to head on over to the Double Trouble Challenge Blog and check out what everyone else has made for you today!  There you'll find all of the details and you can link up and play along!

I've got a couple other things going on here today too and lots going on this week!  Come back again soon and often!

And before you leave, I've got something here for you:

Adorable right??  I won the Kat Scrappiness monthly challenge for April and with my prize I got the most awesome You Guac My World Stamp Set!   And since the June challenge theme is Food and/or Father's Day, it was perfect to play along!

I LOVE avocados!  Although I don't think I'd eat them if they were this cute!  Those faces!!

The leaves and vines are from Spellbinders (not sure if they are still available) and I used the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Die and the Stitched Flag Dies from Kat Scrappiness... did I mention the sentiments on this stamp set?  So punny!

And there you have it!  Hope you'll play along over at Kat Scrappiness too!

Don't forget to head on over to the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog to see my second entry for this challenge and for the new challenge over at Rabbit Hole Designs!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge May 2019 - Food and Drink

Yay!  It's time for a new challenge over at Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenges!  This time around it's all about Food and Drink!  Create a new project using some kind of food and/or drink and link it up for a chance to win a small prize!  It's also the beginning of the Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop so include some kind of Coffee, Tea or Cocoa and Spring/Summer you can link it up over there for a chance to win one of lots of prizes!  AND we're collaborating with Double Trouble this month and if you can link up to Three Amigos and The Coffee Lover's Blog Hop, you can link up there too!  That's a Three-fer!  Check out the details in our main Three Amigos post here!

Here's how I was inspired:

I've used a couple Whimsy stamp sets today along with a couple dies from Rubbernecker Stamps and some sequins from Doodles Paper Playground... all Super Sponsors for this hop!

I started with three of the images that I colored in a class over at one of my LSS, The Paper Collage with Nicolette from Stella Rue Studios!  Of course I bought the stamp sets we used so I added a couple more for this card.

From Rubbernecker I used the Nested Rectangle Small Stitch Dies for my first layer and the awesome Window w/Pierce Die for my shaker.

These guys are so cute!  They're from Whimsy's Espresso-ly Great stamp set!  I colored these two in the class with Nic... I didn't use them on her card though... it was fantastic, but it wasn't my design so I used them here!  And those sequins... awesome right?  They're from Doodles Paper Playground's Cafe Au Lait Blend!

And these cuties are from the Donut Birthdays stamp set.  Love them!  That cream squirting out of the one donut... right??  That's how I like my cream filled donuts!

Eeep!!  So cute... although if my donut was looking at me like that I don't know if I could eat it... well... maybe I could...

And there you have it!

SO!  Head on over and see what Donna and Susan have created for you today!  And the oh so talented Karen Leach has been so kind to have joined us this month as a guestie... please be sure to stop by her place and leave her some love too! Then give us a visit over at Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge and play along!

Edited to add: I was in the Sunday Spotlight over at Whimsy Stamps!!  Yay!

The Rabbit Hole Designs Rewind!

Just popping by to share one more card this week using the Caffeinated Octopus from The Rabbit Hole Designs!  I want to remind you that you have until the end of today, January 18th, to comment on the preview and hop posts that started on the 10th and went through the 13th over at The Rabbit Hole Designs to win some free Caffeinated critters stamps sets and maybe even a Tim Holtz Platform!  You can start here at the Rabbit Hole Designs Preview Day 1... there are chances to win prizes each day... Preview Day 1 and 2 and Hop Day 1 and 2!!  You still have time... so what are you waiting for!

For this one, I started with  some Doodlebug papers for the background and a circle of vellum.  I thought it would be fun for her to be sitting on a cup... maybe somehow this cool cup ended up at the bottom of the ocean and now Miss Octo has her (many cups of) coffee each day sitting on it watching all of the sea life float by.

I colored her with my Copics and cut her out.  It has been so much fun working with this little lady!  I love all of the sets in this release and you can find them all at The Rabbit Hole Designs website!

I'm playing along with the Anything Goes January Challenge over at D.L. Art!  You should check it out!

One more peek!  Thanks so much for hopping along with us... for your visit today and all of your visits!  I appreciate everyone that visits!

You may have been here yesterday for previews for another beautiful new set from The Rabbit Hole Designs!  Come back tomorrow for the hop!  I can't wait to share with you!

Double Trouble Challenges January Guestie

Excited to be guesting over at Double Trouble Challenges this month
!  This time around the challenge at Double Trouble is to create a warm and cozy feeling card using a printed or embossed background... you may notice, I've kinda used both!

The papers are from the Doodlebugs Designs Kitten Smitten paper pad.

You also get extra chances to win if you use the twist of a kitten or a mitten... and I think I've got that covered too!  This sweet little kitten from the Elizabeth Crafts Dreamers stamp set fell asleep nestled in the warm knit hat and mittens from the Sunny Studio Stamps Warm and Cozy dies with her favorite ball of yarn... and because I used these I'm linking up over at Creative With Stamps Challenge Blog where the challenge is Mittens!  This is the challenge that Double Trouble is teaming up with this month!  So fun and easy to play along with both and double the chances to win!

When I thought about a sentiment, this stamp was laying on my craft table and I thought it was perfect... not just for Christmas!  It's from a prior Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month, Just Treats.

I mean... I think that kitty looks pretty comfortable and full of joy!  Love that label die from CC Designs that I got a while ago on clearance.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you'll head on over to Double Trouble and play along!  I can't wait to see what you create!
