Coffee Lover's Hop Day 5 - Brentwood Is My Favorite

Day 5 - Already??  I've got some more Brentwood for you today!  This time it's a cup with Brentwood holding a cup with Brentwood...

I LOVE this digi!  Can you tell?  This one is available in the shop right now for only $1.99!  All digis are on sale!  You can find a whole bunch of coffee digis right here!  This time I used the Coffee Cup Shaped Card cutting file from The Cutting Cafe as my card base...

I surrounded Brentwood with some beautiful vellum flowers that I got at Michael's to kind of mirror the pink daisy that's surrounding Brentwood on the cup he's holding... and just so you know... I'm assuming that flower Brentwood is also holding a cup with Brentwood on it... you just can't see it...

I had a really hard time with the sentiment... I wanted to use this one from Paper Smooches (because Brentwood is my favorite... and this mug is his favorite... and I'm sure I'll be giving it to one of my favorite people), but I didn't think I had room for it without covering up my guy... and then it struck me!  Vellum... and cut it out and it was perfect!!

So thanks for stopping by yet again!  Come back for more coffee.. you can sign up for email notifications in the sidebar if you'd like!  Let me know you were here and I'll visit you back if I can find you!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 218 Meets Coffee Lovers - Day 4

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch!  This week is also the Summer 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I'm playing along with this card for Day 4.

Well, you really can't get any more coffee than this!  I started by smooshing, splashing, and splattering coffee on some watercolor paper.  Once that was dry, I used the coffee beans from the Paper Sweeties But First, Coffee stamp set, stamped in Versamark and embossed in gold.  Then I used some watercolor to color in the beans.

This sentiment is from the Coffee, Yes Please stamp set and the cup is from You Warm My Heart.

I love these sweet flowers from the Hello Spring stamp set and I took the opportunity to scatter around a few of my favorite gold sequins!

So thanks for stopping!  I had so much fun creating this background that I think I'll make some more to have on hand... and they're right... it does smell pretty darn good too!

Be sure to check out this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  This feels like a sketch I could use over and over and never tire of it!  And while you're at it... create something coffee, tea or hot cocoa and summer (you know, flowers yes, snowflakes no) and play along over there too!  Lots of prizes and many sponsors giving away free digis!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day 3 1/2 - Pug In A Mug

Back one more time today with a post for the Coffee Lover's Bloghop, Summer 2017 Edition!  This time around, I'm using a Sweet Stamp Shop stamp set I just got in the mail...

If you've been coming around here for a while, you may remember that I got this cool Coffee washi tape from The Sweet Stamp Shop a while ago and covered a 12x12 sheet of kraft cardstock with it.  I used it on a card and saved the rest for future use... I was so happy I had it all ready to go today!  And the washi is on sale and in the clearance section right now and you can find it here

And this cute pug and sentiment??  He was also in the clearance section on a very adorable set called Pug Life which is also on sale in the clearance section and you can get it here!    It's so cute because there are a variety of expressions to choose from and a few bodies and lots of cute sentiments.  The mug is from the Sweet Stamp Shop Coffee Town set and that little sun is a die from Craftin Desert Divas.

I built this sentiment using a Coffee die from Your Next Stamp, the Hug In A Mug sentiment from MFT and I used one of the little Pug words from the Pug Life stamp set...I mean... I LOVE my coffee, but I wouldn't complain if you brought me a pug in a mug..

It made me giggle anyway... hope it had the same effect on you!  Hope you'll play along with the Coffee Lovers Hop!  I'll be back tomorrow with some Atlantic Hearts/Paper Sweeties/Coffee goodness!

Coffee Lovers Hop Day 3 - Relax!

Day 3 of the Summer 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I've got something special for you!

There's a new file in town over at the Cutting Cafe and it's a very cool 3-D Cup.  Not able to leave awesome enough alone, I paired it with the flowers from the Flower Popup Card to make this cute gifty box..

I used the CTMH No Worries papers to create an easy breezy summery vacationy take a load off kind of feel.

The 3-D Cup file comes with a bunch of coffee/tea sentiments that you can use along with your project and I die cut one in a circle and used it here as a tag along with some of the Complements from the No Worries paper pack.

And these popup flowers... so I had saved some of the morning coffee from me belly and was using it to create a kinda cool background on another project and decided since this gift box will contain some coffee type gifts, I'd use it to paint these flowers.  The lightest stains are the coffee and then to get my dark brown center I needed to use some watercolors because the coffee wasn't dark enough for my liking... it does give the project a nice coffee aroma and I love the distressed look of it.  I finished off the centers with some gold Nuvo drops.

Because these flowers are for a popup card they are all attached together, but to keep them in place on my cup, I attached them to a scalloped circle and created myself a lid for my cup:

You can see at the top here that my lid slides into the cup.  All I did was copy the base piece for the cup in Design Space and then I made it very thin, cut two more circles and put it together just like the cup.  I was going to make it an actual lid, however I forgot to make the circles bigger before I cut it so it didn't fit, but I was able to jam it inside the cup..lol!  I've decided to change the file I saved in Design Space and make these circles a tiny bit smaller than the cup ones because I like how it fits inside the cup instead of outside.  Not that I'll always need a lid, but since I've done the work already, why not save it?

Now it's time to (see above photo) ... not really... back to work in my crafty space!

See you again soon!  And hey!  Don't forget to check out the Coffee Lovers Hop and play along... lots of great company and lots of great prizes!   And if you are playing along I'll be over to your place soon to see what you've created!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day 2 - Here Comes The Sun!

Welcome to Day 2 of the Summer 2017 Coffee Lovers Hop!  I'm back with some more Brentwood!

Today I'm using the freebie that JessicaLynnOriginal is sharing for the hop and you can get it here!  Love to see Brentwood so relaxed... still in his jammies sitting in his nicely decorated bachelor pad... he has such an eye for decor don't you think?

I decided that Bachelor Brentwood would be the plaid recliner/wood paneling kind of guy.  I personally like plaid and wood and that's fine with me!  I love that this cup is blank and you can add whatever you'd like to it or just color it.  I made a little desert scene on mine.  I was coloring with Copics so I penciled in the cactus drawing first and then finalized it with my Copic multiliner pen and then made sure all of the pencil lines were erased before adding the ink.. once you color over a pencil mark with a Copic marker it's there for good.  Then I colored in my cactus and background... I'd buy that mug!

I decided that my sentiment would be a wall hanging... at first I was going to make the picture on the wall a picture of perhaps a Mrs. Brentwood, but I really didn't have room for that.  So, I pulled up this awesome sentiment and sun that Verve shared during one of the past coffee hops and was able to size it perfectly for my space...

I've had this window die from Memory Box for quite some time and just hadn't gotten around to using it... why?  I don't have any idea because it's awesome!  I cut my background for my outdoor scene to size and then created my background with my copics.

I wasn't really planning on curtains, but that area needed something because the bottom of the card was too heavy for the top and then I came across the perfect "fabric" for Brentwood's curtains... this was from a paper pad I got quite a while ago too, Happy Day from Pebbles.  Now, there are quite a few awesome printed pieces in this pack...but seriously.. I bought it for the two pieces of coffee cup paper ... lol!  Don't judge... I know you'd do the same!

And finally I knew Brentwood needed a friend to share his morning coffee with.  Don't worry... he's the kind of owl that would much rather drink his morning coffee than chase after mice.  That cute little guy is from CDD and the cactus digi from Bella Parodi was already printed in the perfect size and made the perfect "houseplant" for Brentwood.

So thanks for stopping by again!  I'll be back soon with some more coffee goodness! And don't forget to checkout the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog for all the details about this awesome and fun hop including a huge list of awesome sponsors!

Coffee Hop Day 1 - Brentwood for President!

Woo hoo!  It's Day 1 of the Summer Coffee Lover's Hop!  Yup... and I'm starting mine off with a lot a bit of Brentwood!

This Brentwood was a freebie during last Summer's hop and I pulled him out of my archives because when I saw that cute little digi on his cup it made me think of the coffee cup fun that Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake have going on...  if you're not familiar... Google it... anyway, I needed to print him big so I could fit the other digi on his plain cup....

The digi is available in the shop and it's on sale right now... you can find it here!.

And you can get this hop's freebie right here!  And of course I'll be sharing something with you made with that before too long.... silly!  Be sure to share your creation using it with us too!  Link up to the Coffee Hop...share it in the Jessica Lynn Original Create and Inspire Group on Facebook here and in the Card Making & More Facebook group here!

Isn't this a cute one??  It's Brentwood holding a cup with Brentwood on it... so... it's Brentwood, holding a cup with Brentwood, who is holding a cup with Brentwood...I'm sorry if I'm being ridiculous.. but I just can't help myself!  It makes me giggle... and this Brentwood with a mug will be available in the shop.

I didn't have much room for my sentiment so I settled on this short but sweet one from MFT...

And added this sun die cut that I got in the clearance section at C.C. Designs... love it!

So thanks for stopping and dealing with my silliness... and of course I'm not done... I'll be back with some more Brentwood soon and lots of other coffee cards so come back often... you really shouldn't expect anything but coffee... maybe tea... when you come here for the next week!  And you really should play along... there are tons of prizes and lots of fun and awesome people!  Check out all of the information at the Coffee Lovers Blog here! Come and play with us!

The Cutting Cafe Inspiration - Bingo!

Welcome to some Cutting Cafe Inspiration!  This time around we're playing with the Bingo Printable Stamp Sets.  I used the Summer Bingo set along with the Summer Fun Printable Stamp Set to create these two full shaker cards... card shakers?  (You got your shaker in my card... you got your card in my shaker... if you don't know what I'm referring to then look up old Reese Cup commercials...lol... if you do, you must have some permanent glitter in your hair like I do.)

The very cool thing about the bingo set is you have a number of choices to print your cards in size and then in black and white or in color.  I printed mine in color and small.  For this card, I just picked two that were in the colors I wanted to match my Doodlebug paper and cut them out.

The sentiment, swim trunks and starfish are from the Summer Fun set and the sailboat is from the same Doodlebug Anchor's Away paperpack that my paper came from... the sun was cut with a die.

For the pink version, I chose bingo cards that were the colors I wanted and the umbrella, flip flops, bikini and sentiment are also from the Summer Fun set.

I used my Fuse tool to create the shaker envelope that the card is encased in.  I've been wanting to make one of these for a very long time and so happy I thought of it for these because I think they're fun!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what my teamies have created for you.  Go to the Cutting Cafe Blog on the 21st and you'll find links to all of their creations.  Also, if you comment on the post on the Cutting Cafe blog, you could win some free files!

Only a few more days 'til the Summer Coffee Hop... if you hate Coffee cards then you may want to stay away for a week or two.. but I sure hope you don't... in fact, I hope you'll play along... you can make cards with a coffee, tea, OR hot cocoa theme and for this hop the additional theme of summer.. join me and play along!  There are lots of prizes.  I know I'll be creating a card or two with my new custom stamp from The Cutting Cafe for sure... see you soon!

MFT Camp Create 2017-Glitzy Glitter

Last day for MFT Camp Create 2017-Glitzy Glitter!  Great video (again) on the blog regarding adding a special tape to your paper before diecutting and then adding glitter to it after you cut it but before you adhere it... I didn't have enough colors of actual glitter for my liking, so I cut my dies directly from glitter paper... I am filing the video away for later though because I have glitter... and I have the tape.. and I have the dies... I just haven't used them all together yet!  Anyway, here is my project:

One of the cards on the blog has a flamingo on it and I don't have the MFT flamingo, but I did have this Reverse Confetti one that I bought... a while ago... and hadn't used and wanted to ... so I inked it up!  (I got it so long ago that I think it's retired now...lol!)   I also used the Reverse Confetti True Love paper pad I got not AS long ago, but it was a while ago also.  That pretty scalloped Rectangle is from My Favorite Things... that set is one of my favorite...

Isn't she sweet?  I had her body and legs all stamped before I remembered I had also bought the dies...lol!  So since I didn't want to start over, I decided I'd pop up the wing and I love the way it looks so I'm glad I did...

A couple more of my favorite die sets are the leaves you see here... they are from the Leafy Greenery set and it is quite awesome!  I also used the Flourish die from my dry embossing project.  I cut them all of glitter paper since this is a glitter challenge and I have lots of it...lol!  I love these paper flowers from Hobby Lobby... they were the perfect addition because they feel a little tropical... I think anyway... but I love them so I keep a bunch hanging around and replenish every time they have a sale.

And this sentiment is from the Reverse Confetti Paper Crane set.  It's got some great sentiments on it and pssst!  It's on sale right now... the Flamingo set also had some great sentiments, however they were too big for my space so I was happy I had these.

And for a little more glitter, I used some glittery gems instead of sequins.. did I mention I love glitter??  Don't fear the glitter!

So I earned this badge:

And I'm done!  I made it through all of the projects for all of the days.. learned some new things for sure... looking forward to my next camp!  Speaking of... this coming Friday is the start of the Summer Coffee Hop!!!  Maybe I should have been getting ready for that?  Nope... it will be a flurry of paper confetti, sequins and glitter all over again!  Come back this week for The Cutting Cafe Inspiration and maybe a couple surprises... idk... maybe...

MFT Camp Create 2017 Bonfire Bonus-Celebrate!

So Friday was a bonus night!  An extra project for MFT Camp Create 2017 Divine Dry Embossing.  There is another fantastic video on the MFT blog to explain the process for this very cool technique... here's what I made:

I used the same Stitched Flourish Die from MFT that was used in the video, however, before I embossed mine, I took my piece of watercolor paper and shook a little bit of Ken Oliver Colorbursts in Turquoise and Tangerine and spritzed with water.  I dried my paper in between applications of the different colors and I may or may not have blotted it and then used my heat gun because I was impatient... it's possible... :) ... 'cause I might be impatient.

I'm playing along with the Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge.. it's how I picked the colors I would use... but honestly this is one of my favorite color combinations so it wasn't really a challenge at all!

Here's a closeup of the dry embossing using my Big Shot.  I didn't have the proper pad, but I played around with some cardboard shims and a different pad that was a little softer and eventually got the right combination.  Thick enough to emboss with a die, but not too thick so that it cuts through.. I was looking for an old mousepad but couldn't find it... I made it work... but I am definitely getting an embossing pad for future use.  I placed the watercolor piece on top of a turquoise piece die cut with an MFT scalloped rectangle and then I layered that onto an orange piece I already had on my desk that was die cut using a CDD Stitched Rectangle.

To keep it simple, I just found a couple pieces of baker's twine in the colors I wanted and went through my stash of badge buttons and found this one.  I love leaving my card fronts a little ambiguous so I can use them for various occasions and be more specific when I stamp the inside of the card.  A few beautiful flower cupped Paper Sweeties sequins in Creamsicle and done!

I forgot to mention my base piece that I embossed with a folder (another form of dry embossing that I did have the correct tools for...lol) that I bought at my LSS not too long ago... I believe it was from Carta Bella and I LOVE it!

 Now I've earned this badge:

And don't forget to play along with Paper Play Sketches:
