Coffee Is My Pot of Gold

I know what you're thinking!  Coffee again?  Yes... I just had to share another card using the Verve digi sets Irish Coffee and Lucky Day sets!  There is a sale going on right now over at Verve and a couple challenges that I'm playing along with.

I had the idea right after I finished my last card using this set to create a foiled background with the four leaf clover in the Irish Coffee set.  I just took the digi, pulled it into word, made it the size I wanted and then copy and pasted it, turning the clover every which way.  I tried to keep them around the same distance apart, but made sure that I varied the direction the stems were going in so that it looked more random.

I printed that out using my laser printer on some white cardstock, die cut it with a Waffle Flowers Scalloped die, and then placed a piece of that beautiful Gina K Designs Gold Sequins foil over it and ran it through my Minc machine.  Voila!  It turned out just how I was hoping!

I had printed out both sets in pdf form the other day, so I chose this sentiment, die cut it with a circle die and then ran that through the Minc as well.  That Gold Sequin foil is just sooo cool and looks different at every angle.  I original had one larger green circle behind my scalloped circle here, but it covered up more of my clover than I wanted covered so I decided to leave it out... turns out I didn't need it at all!

Then I colored and cut out the clover and to go cup from the Lucky Day set, tied some ribbon around and embellished it with the cut out digis, some flowers and a few Doodlebug Sprinkles in green.

I think you're starting to understanding that I've fallen in love with my Minc and I'm finding a new love for digital stamps.  I will always love my physical, touchable, smellable, real life stamps, but I LOVE all of the extra stuff I can do with the digis now since I got a laser printer and my Minc.  Very excited!

So, as I said, I'm playing along with some challenges!  I used the sketch from Viva La Verve for this month again... it's such a versatile sketch and it was perfect for this combo of stamps, dies, and "stuff".  I'm also playing along with the Verve March 2018 Inspirations Hop and Challenge.  Also, I'm adding this to the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Mixed Medium Challenge for this week!

You Are My Favorite with Little Acres Creations

Wanted to pop in with a quick post today!  I've had this on my mind for a while so I needed to get it out of my head!  I've used the Piles of Smiles stamp set from Little Acres Creations for all but the sentiment.  The sentiment is from Summer Blessings.. don't you just love that sweet font?

I'm playing along with the Twisted Thursday Mixed Mediums challenge for this week!  I added a subtle background with some Grit Texture Paste and a Tim Holtz Stencil.   While it was still wet, I sprinkled on some Distress Glitter and lightly smooshed it onto the texture past so it would stick when it dried. I'm sure this one will leave a little trail in its travels...lol... but I don't mind.  I hope the recipient doesn't...lol!

I used the fox, bottom portion of the tree stump and mushrooms from the Piles of Smiles set.  I stamped them with black Ranger Archival Ink and colored them with just a little water and my Zig Markers.  I used regular old CTMH White Daisy cardstock so I didn't want to get it to wet.  The colors didn't move like they would on watercolor paper, but I'm happy with the way it came out.  I added just a little area of green at the bottom to ground everything.

Here you can see the glitter sparkle a little and that sweet sentiment again.

So thanks for stopping!  The Outlawz Challenges are in a Ning Group!  You must sign up and become a member, but within the group there are multiple challenges each week/month and lots of prizes and sponsors!  Plus it's a great group of crafty friends... you should check it out!  Definitely worth it!

Paper Smooches Challenge Reboot!

So you may have been missing the challenge over at the Paper Smooches website!  You'll be happy to know it's back!  So excited!  They're changing it up a bit and this month it's a sketch challenge.  And I've been feeling a little springy lately so I decided to go with some flowers.. lots of flowers...lol!  I picked out some Doodlebug papers from the So Punny paper pad.

I've been dying to use this Pocket Die since I picked it up at one of my Local Scrapbook Stores, Scraps of Love.  I diecut the pocket and then embossed it using a plaid embossing folder.  Then I diecut the flowers that come with the pocket in various cardstock colors that matched the design papers I chose.  I didn't even cut all of the flower pieces apart.  I just used them in a bunch so I'd have lots of choices for varieties and I don't have to worry about losing some of the smaller dies in the set.  I mixed and matched my pieces.  Popped some up and tucked some under.  Then I cut some leaves from the Flower Frame dies and tucked those in and stamped and colored some bees from the Courteous Cuties Stamp set.  I decided to give my flowers black centers like the ones in the paper.

I used the "hugs" die from the Hugs & Kisses Die Set and cut it in black glitter paper so it would stand out and to complement the black centers of the flowers.

The end!  Here's the sketch (I pretty much stuck to it, didn't I?  That's not like me at all...lol)

I'll be playing along with this one again this month (hint hint... coffee?)  Be sure to stop back and see me!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #12 - Out Of This World!

This month over at Three Amigos the challenge is "Out Of This World!"  Use your imagination and create any kind of project with a whimsical theme... sure.. outer space... or anything else fantastical that you just know exists but you've never seen it!  For my project today, I decided to use the adorable CTMH Make Waves paper pack and here's how I was inspired:

I needed a quick project.. you know... tax season blah blah... so I LOVE how I could just go to this paper pack and have most of what I needed to create this card!  That AWESOME sentiment is in the PML card design paper and I cut that adorable mermaid from one of the sheets covered with these beauties.

I know who I'm going to send this to... I just love this sentiment... I wish it was a stamp!!  Although there is an adorable set with an equally awesome sentiment and a mermaid that is in my shopping cart right now and you can see it here if you want!

Isn't she sweet??  It only took a minute to cut her out of the paper and don't you love that Wave Border Die from W Plus 9!?!  I cut it out of some blue metallic paper... speaking of which... I'm playing along with the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Anything Goes Challenge with a Twist of Metallic!  I'm also playing along with the Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp!

And these adorable die cuts from Craftin Desert Divas Island Dies and some very old CTMH glass embellishments were the perfect touch to finish it off.

So thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out what Donna and Susan have created for you this month!  And then hop on over to the Three Amigos Blog to see who won last month... maybe it was you!  And be sure to play along!  I can't wait to see what your crafty brain comes up with!

Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series-March 2018

Can you believe it's already March???  With tax season in full swing, time is flying and dragging at the same time...lol!  I finally decided on a set of design papers to use for my planner and I have to say I'm loving them!   They are "Generations" from Simple Stories and probably a very old paper pack as I got it from a friend who was destashing... thanks Linda!

And I also love this smaller size.  Last year I used one with 8 1/2 x 11 sized pages and this year I switched to this printable planner system and my pages are 8x8.  I still have room to decorate and add extras but it's not so overwhelming... I mean... I don't have THAT much to do...lol!  I also love the binder system so that I can have list pages that I move around.

This month is my Anniversary!  27 years.  Feels like 30...lol!  (Seriously.)  I used some of the stickers from the paper pack including that beautiful sentiment "The secret to having it all is knowing you already do".  Truth young ones.  Truth.  We will always have wants and wishes and goals and complaints... and that's healthy, but you have to also realize what is really important.  Once I learned that, I found happiness... right there where it was all along.

Anywho!  I love all of the great planner sets over in the Paper Sweeties shops and I have links to the ones I've used at the bottom of this post!

If you visit me often, you know that the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts are among my most used sets.. I used the scallop cut to decorate the edges of my pages with some of the papers from the pack.  And then there's those Pretty Posies!

Just love the flowers in the Pretty Posies set.. the perfect touch for so many projects... and then this sweet birdie from Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes...

So thanks for stopping by and putting up with me!  Come back on the third for some Three Amigos!
