So... March 18th starts the Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop!! And what better way to get ready than to participate in the March Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge... I mean just look at this inspiration... it's screaming for a coffee card....
I'm cracking my knuckles and stretching my muscles and warming up... it's a week long celebration of Coffee! (Oh... and Tea and Hot Cocoa too). Coffee and crafting!! (and Tea and Hot Cocoa). I created this background using some Color Bursts that a friend left with me to practice with and then show her how to use them. I got up this morning and brought them and my watercolors and some sprays downstairs figuring I could have my coffee and watch one of the best (and saddest) John Wayne movies ever, The Cowboys while I was waiting for my masterpieces to dry in between layers. Well... I have a way to go ... but I got some cool backgrounds to play with.
I got the Paper Sweeties set, Homemade with Love which includes this coffee cup, a cupcake and some other accessories in preparation for the Holiday Coffee Lovers Hop and I love it! I got the stamp set and the die set. I stamped this one in Crystal Blue, die cut it out (fussy cut the handle) and then used another Paper Sweeties set, Party Time to decorate the "chalkboard" with flowers and the flowers on the cup are from the Tree of Life Add On set and were stamped with Versmark, embossed in white, and then I colored in the petals with the red for a nice accent. I love to use the die set from Homemade with Love to cut out the steam for my coffee cup... I added some liquid glass to the coffee ... I like the way it turned out...
I used the CDD Fancy Frames and Fancy Stitched Labels dies for all of my layers. The Stitched Labels is what I used to cut out my chalkboard. The sentiment is from Stamplorations and the word Coffee is from Verve stamps. I can't wait for next week because Paper Sweeties is having some sneak peaks of what looks to be an awesome new coffee set with some cute sentiments on it... I will need that one for the hop I'm sure!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to come back tomorrow for Atlantic Hearts!
