Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #161

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I'm also playing along with the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge this week with all of the glorious blues!  I stuck pretty well to our sketch this week (I think).  I wasn't sure about it at first, but when it all came together I was pretty happy with it.

I love the way the background die from the Craftin' Desert Divas Fancy Frames had the stitching in it so it was easy to mimic the stitching on the sketch!  That really was an accident.. I just love these dies and threw it on there before I knew what was happening.  I was originally thinking I'd have to draw in my stitches because while I LOVE the look of real stitching, I don't have a sewing maching and I rarely have time to do it by hand. Then for the scallops I used the CDD Pocket Pieces Hello dies.  It was a little too short for the length on the longer side, but I just used two and hid the seam with my ribbon and flowers.

I do love the new CTMH sentiment set, Beyond Awesome so I'll apologize ahead of time for how often I'm going to be using it... so Sorry...Not Sorry... :)!  I stamped it right on the background with the Sapphire ink and then stamped the Awesome banner separately in Pacifica and cut it out and popped it up.  Then I colored in "You" with some alcohol ink and then used some alcohol and burlap to distress it... very cool technique I learned for texturizing at Copic Bootcamp and you'll be seeing this more soon along with a little more elaboration.

The cute little butterflies are from the CTMH Hello Sunshine set that is in the new Seasonal Expressions Idea Book... there is some A-dorable stuff in there!

I used a leftover ribbon piece that has been sitting around my desk and just happened to be the right size and color!  I get lucky like that sometimes.  I also used one of the bulk white crocheted flowers I got from Etsy and then I distressed a white paper flower in Crystal Blue and Pacifica and piled some sequins in the center.

So thanks for stopping and come again soon!  And don't forget to checkout these challenges and play along!

I have ten blue CTMH stamp pads but not Pacifica or Saphire...my husband just wandered in to me looking all squinty eyed at my stamp pads and while I was yelling at them (because obviously it's their fault I don't have more blue) and laughed at me...so unfair. He said I should write a letter...anyhow, end rant now, I LOVE those colors you used! SO SUPER PRETTY! HUGS!
