Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #169

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and another great sketch from Michelle!

I'm also taking the opportunity to play along with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #367!  The tropical feel inspired me because I LOVE the Calypso Papers and Complements from CTMH... flamingos, pineapples, and bright colors oh my!  This time I mixed up Calypso with the Happy Times paper because that woodgrain paper... yum!

The Complements made it so quick and easy to create this card.. the vellum flamingo and pineapple, the little cardstock sticker hearts and the flower I placed in the center of the larger white flower and the Relax Sentiment.  Also, I finally found my Calypso sequins and it was fun to place them around.  And the fun colorful strip is one of the zip strips from the Calypso paper pack.

I also love that I was able to use up a lot of extras I had sitting on my table including that pretty scalloped circle from CDD (I colored the scallops with one of my alcohol markers); that pretty stitched flourish from MFT;

Not to mention the sprigs I created from a wreath I cut for a previous project from one of the CTMH cartridges and it ripped and I had to cut a new one... here I cut it into sections and used it as extra greenery with my clusters.

Three Amigos Blog Hop July 2016

Welcome to July's Three Amigos Blog Hop!  We are three friends brought together by CTMH.  We challenge each other every month to create something with CTMH's fantastic products!  2016 is all about the number 3!  And this month the challenge was to create something with three different fonts.  I have to admit... with the new Beyond Awesome stamp set, it wasn't difficult at all.  This one sentiment actually has four!  Is that cheating?  IDK.. it's not AT LEAST three... but no one said I couldn't use more...lol... so here it is!

I knew I wanted to use the beautiful tropical Calypso papers and Complements.  And the colors were for the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge, but alas, I was too late to enter it, but if you want to check out that challenge here, it's a cool one!

So... the pineapple is a sticker from the Complements stickers and the die cut leaves are from the Springtime Wishes dies that coordinated with the stamp set.  Yes... some of these dies you CAN use by themselves.  My ribbon is my favorite crinkly seam binding from Paper Sweeties and I used one of the paper flowers I won from Petaloo.  An the cute little Doubleclick Skittles because they were close by and the perfect color.

And my favorite sentiment set, Beyond Awesome... I mean it's Awesome enough to take center stage on a card for sure!

Three Amigos Blog Hop June 2016 Edition

 

Welcome to this month's Three Amigos Blog Hop.  It's a tiny little hop and it won't take you long at all.  We are three friends and Close To My Heart Consultants who challenge each other each month to create something with Close To My Heart products.  This year it's all about the three!  And this month it's about our three favorite products.  It's very hard for me to choose favorites of anything so I decided to focus on what makes me love CTMH.

 

My very favorite CTMH product has to be the awesome coordinating paper packs.  Love all of the pretty, handsome, and versatile prints included along with some awesome PML cards that are great for scrapbooking and cardmaking alike.  And right now my favorite pack is Calypso with it's oh so summery tropical feel... LOVE the flamingos!!

 

I'm also playing along with the Between The Folds Challenge to use CTMH Thick Twine which is NOT one of my favorite products...lol!  I find it too thick most of the time, but what I did find is if I take apart the two pieces and then lay them side by side I can more easily wrap them around my projects and they do make a pretty bow and then I can mix my colors!  So... now I LOVE it!

 

And secondly, I LOVE the coordinating sequins.  For this card I used the Craftin Desert Divas Picture Frame Dies to create this faux shaker.  And with the adhesive already on the CTMH sequins it was so easy to adhere them ... I added some other sequins as well to get the mix of colors I wanted... I still can't find my Calypso pack of sequins!!!  So sad... so I had to make due but the blue and rose gold sequins are the self adhesive CTMH ones.

 

And third... I LOVE the coordinating Complements that go with the paper packs.  The flamingo, the sentiment, the arrows in the top box and the vellum circle with the heart are all from the Calypso Complements.  Another card I made in less than half an hour.  Unheard of!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #162

 

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I have to say... this one almost got away from me.  I had so many plans for this weekend and my computer decided to start giving me problems so I spent a good part of today that I intended to use for creating uninstalling and reinstalling and manually uninstalling Photoshop and being quite unsuccessful and finally giving up and finishing what I NEEDED to get done today and using Pic Monkey to edit my photos.. which has been a challenge in itself...not figuring out how to use it, but again...computer issues.

 

So here it is!  I was able to create this in half an hour... yes.. me.. half an hour!!  Thanks to this awesome CTMH Calypso paper and complements... no stamping.. oh wait... Ink Blot behind the drink... but that's it!   I like it and I'm kind of proud of myself.  I CAN do it when I need to... but... the next card... not so much...but that's for later!

 

 

All of these images including the sentiment are from the Complements.  I used a pre-cut frame from my stash that was cut with Mom's Pretty Pink Posh die.  Those pretty sequins are from the Florence sequin pack... I didn't want to spend 15 more minutes trying to figure out where my Calypso ones were so I liked these rose gold ones... I used them.
