Miss Ink Stamps - Mid Mod Valentine with Artsy Abstracts

I'm back with some more Mid Century Modern Art inspiration using the Artsy Abstracts Stencil Set with a few other things.

I thought there were a few shapes on Artsy Abstracts that felt like hearts... so I used them with some reds and pinks to create a floating line of hearts.  I added some pattern to them with Perfectly Plaid and Lava Lamp as well.  Then I used the detail stencil from Artsy Abstracts to add some cool geometric accents as well as a couple tiny solid hearts.  Finally I added a rose from the Climbing Roses stamp set and a sentiment from Sunshine & Rainbows.

I've been having a lot of fun with this art form and I have another fun one coming next week!  See my inspiration for this one below.

I don't have all of the colors of Oxides... but I'm working on it slowly but surely!

I love these heart shaped bowls and ...

Reds and pinks on these drawers of course made me think of Valentines!

Thanks so much for coming!  Be sure to come back soon!

Miss Ink Stamps -Mixing It Up with Foil and Acrylic Paint

Welcome back!  Played with some more foil and acrylic paint this week!  I created this background using a piece of leftover foil.  I had created a foil base using the Circular Harlequin stencil and some transfer gel which left a great piece of negative foil.  I thought the background was perfect for a Mother' Day Card with the Climbing Roses stamp set!

I grabbed a gel print I'd made recently and ran it through with the sheet and got a really cool effect.  I learned a couple things and an important one was the age of your gel print has a lot to do with the amount of foil that will transfer to your piece.  Originally I put one through that was 6 months old and a little transferred leaving some pretty sparkle.  Then I used this one that was just a couple weeks old and got more of a transfer.  Tested the theory a few times and it seems to work.  But it's ok because I've got more ideas that I'm gonna play around with and I'll let you know!

In the meantime here's a quick video showing the difference between this one and the old one!  I'll be using the other panel in the near future on another project so stay tuned for that!

Thank you so much for stopping!  Hope you'll come again soon!

Miss Ink Stamps - Happily Ever After

Welcome back!  I'm playing with the new Climbing Roses stamp set along with one of the fabulous frame stencils, Ins & Outs: Quaterfoil today and I've created this card for a wedding this month!

The Ins & Outs group of stencils in the shop are fabulous for creating a beautiful masked ink blended spotlight for any of your stamp sets!  Bunches of shapes and two piece sets that make it so easy to make a different colored frame and/or add some glitter paste like I did without seeping into your center piece.

Cool thing is there are lines on the stencil to help you center your stencil directly over an A2 card (if that's where you want it!).  And those roses???  I used some unexpected colors today.  It was meant to be a little more rainbowy, but my pink is maybe a little too purple to make it so, but I love these colors anyway, and they are perfect for the bride and groom that I'll be sending this one too!

I'll be sharing another one of these Ins & Outs stencils on the blog next week so hopefully you can see how easy they are to use.

And for those who want it:

My colors!

Thanks so much for stopping!  I hope you'll come again soon!
