Petals for the Pittmans Fundraiser and Linky Party - Extended!

I'm back with another one for the Petals for the Pittmans Fundraiser and Linky Party!  The party has been extended through August 14th AND there's another special set available over at Polka Dot Orchard and it's a mini set!  Take a look at this:

So pretty isn't it and such beautiful sentiments!  This one can be found here and all proceeds will go directly to the Pittmans to help towards mounting medical bills.  If you'd like to find out more about the Fundraiser, you can check out the main post on the Polka Dot Orchard Blog here as well as the link to play along with the Linky Party!  Just create something with a floral theme and link up for your chance to win!

Today I've used a gorgeous image donated by A Jillian Vance Design and included in one of the larger fundraiser sets that you can find here as well as a sentiment from Graciellie Design included in this set here!

Well, of course it's a rainbow!  And of course there's a coffee cup!  I used some Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow papers cut using these dies here!

I colored up that beautiful rose in rainbow colors and then cut it out.  I got lucky and it was the perfect size for that beautiful coffee cup from A Jillian Vance Design!

That beautiful steam die comes with the cup and I cut my sentiment out with an MFT Banner die.

That's it!  I felt with all of the color... there is a lot of color... I didn't really need anything more!  I hope you're not minding my rainbow obsession!  I'm not quite done with it yet...lol!

Thanks for stopping and be sure to come back soon!  I've got lots of fun coming up over the next couple weeks!

Petals for the Pittmans Fundraiser and Linky Party - Card 3

I've created another card today for the Petals for the Pittmans Linky Party!  If you'd like, you can check out my introductory post here and my second card here!

Today's card is created with another one of the images available in a special and beautiful floral digital stamp set available in the shop over at Polka Dot Orchard.  There are actually two huge sets that are a collaboration of images by several different artists and companies and are part of a fundraiser for one of our fellow makers, Larissa Collins Pittman and her family, who are going through a very difficult time and have mounting medical bills.

You can read more about Larissa and her husband Gary here: Pittmans Go Fund Me.

Today I'm using an image donated by Crystal O. Minkler and a sentiment from Angie Blom.  Here's how I was inspired:

I love this sweet image by Crystal Minkler!!  And it was so much fun to give it a rainbow twist!  I decided to just have a simple white background, but gave it some interest using this die here!

The hardest part is picking my colors that I think will go together and blend a bit without getting muddy... and do you think I'd keep track of what colors those were???  Well, of course not!..lol!  So next time I'll experiment again and it won't turn out the same, but maybe I'll find a happy surprise!  This combo made me happy...

And again, simple sentiment... this one from Angie Blom was perfect!  And this die here was just right to frame it!

You can play along with the linky party too!  Just create a new floral card and link it up at the Polka Dot Orchard Blog here and spread the word!  There are lots of prizes!  And if you would like to help, head on over to the Polka Dot Orchard shop to get one or both of these beautiful digital stamp sets!  Or just play along and spread the word! All proceeds from the sale of these images will go directly to the Pittmans to help with their medical bills.  Take a look at these awesome sets:

So we hope you'll join us and play along!  And come back soon!

Petals for the Pittmans Fundraiser and Linky Party-Card 2

I've created another card today for the Petals for the Pittmans Linky Party!  You can check out the introductory post here.

Today I'm using an image donated by Trinity Stamps and a sentiment from Polka Dot Orchard.  Here's how I was inspired:

You may or may not have heard... I'm all about the rainbows again...lol!  You'll be seeing a few of them here over the next few weeks.  I started with some digital paper from Graciellie Designs that you can find here.

Then I printed my sentiment and image.  I made sure to leave enough space around the sentiment to die cut it with a stitched rectangle die from Rubbernecker Stamps, layered it onto the rainbow paper and then I ran them both through with this die from Lil Inker to add the rays.

Then I colored in my floral image by Trinity Stamps using Copics in a rainbow of colors, cut it out and popped it up under the sentiment.

You can play along with the linky party too!  Just create a new floral card and link it up at the Polka Dot Orchard Blog here and spread the word!  There are lots of prizes!  And if you want to help, head on over to the Polka Dot Orchard shop to get one or both of these beautiful digital stamp sets!  All proceeds from the sale of these images will go directly to the Pittmans to help with their medical bills.  Take a look at these awesome sets:

So we hope you'll join us and play along!  And come back soon... the party doesn't end until July 27th!

Petals for the Pittmans Fundraiser and Linky Party

I'm honored to be sharing a very special card with you today!  It's created with one of the images available in a special and beautiful floral digital stamp set available in the shop over at Polka Dot Orchard.

I was lucky to be able to work with a beautiful image designed by Shery Russ from Stamplorations and here's how I was inspired:

I printed the image on watercolor paper.  I knew I wanted to cut the image out and pop it up so I die cut another piece of watercolor paper using a beautiful stitched panel from Stamplorations and used my Paul Rubens Glitter Watercolors to color and splatter the background.

I used a combination of the Glitter watercolors and my watercolor pencils to color the image.

I let the colors dry and then would add more color for more dramatic light and dark variations.  When I was happy with how it looked, I die cut the image with the same stitched die and then fussy cut around the tops of the flowers and cup and popped it up on the background panel.  I cut my favorite word die from gold foiled paper once and two more times from white cardstock to stack them for dimension and added it to the card.  A simple sentiment for a simple reminder to Just Breathe, because sometimes that's all you can do.

I added a few sequins in gold and clear and called it done.  I love all of the shimmer that those glitter watercolors give to it.

You can purchase the collaboration digital sets for the Pittman fundraiser at the Polka Dot Etsy shop here!  All proceeds will go directly to the Pittmans to help with the overwhelming cost of their medical treatments.  And bonus for you... they are awesome sets with images from SO many wonderful companies and talented artists.
