A Yappy Birthday Card for My Puppy Loving Son

So what do you do when your son wants a dog of his own for his birthday.. that's it... whether he's got to steal yours or rescue one but he can't have one where he's living?  You make him a birthday card with some puppy balloons!

I'm also up on the Three Amigos Blog with this one announcing that our July challenge will be a little late because of vacations and the holiday!  We will have our new challenge and winners post up by July 6th!  Thanks for your understanding!  (I have used a die cut using an MFT die for the "birthday" word since our June challenge is Machine Die Cutting but I also included a hint to what our July challenge will be... can you guess??)

When I was trying to decide what his card would look like, I thought of the Balloon Alpha set from Little Acres Creations and then I thought of the adorable Bork (Stubby Pup) stamp set from The Ink Road.

I took some inspiration from our resident artist over at Little Acres, Miko (check out her awesome card here!) and stamped my balloon alpha letters in versamark onto vellum (I used vellum that was already colored because I had it and I knew it would be easier) and heat embossed in white.  I let it cool and then fussy cut them out

Stamped, colored and cut out my pups and then I arranged all of my "balloons" on the card and when I had the look I wanted, I attached everything using various levels of foam tape... letting some overlap (love the way the vellum let's some of the puppy parts show through...lol!)  I added liquid glass to my pups eyes and noses and added some highlights on the balloons, Miko style, using a white gel pen.

Finished off my sentiment by adding the MFT Birthday die cut.. I cut it three times in Glacier cardstock and stacked them.  Then I added some liquid glass to make it stand out.  After all was dry, I cut a few vellum balloon strings using the Craftin Desert Divas Party Die Set and added those in tucking some behind, cutting some short and letting some of them lay across another balloon or the sentiment.  LOVE it!

SO!  I created this using the colors I did to fit the Double Trouble Challenge and the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge which both use these colors!  I may have added the twist of "strings" for Double Trouble, but I'll let them be the judge of that... while I have no ribbon or twine or anything... I DO have balloon strings!...lol!  But honestly I'm good whatever the verdict because I wouldn't have done anything different.

Thanks for stopping!  See you again soon!

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas-Tag #11

I'm back with Tag #11 for the Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas!   Above is Linda's Tag and here's how I was inspired:

So you may know that my friend Mitra is the one who "made me" play along with this challenge this year.  I use the term "made me" loosely because this has been so much fun and I'm very excited with how my project is coming along.  If you aren't familiar, Linda over at the Funkie Junkie creates 12 Tags and over the course of 12 weeks they are revealed and taking inspiration from them, if you create 12 "tags" (which don't have to be actual tags), then you have a chance to win some awesome prizes and also earn a special discount in the Funkie Junkie Boutique!   You can find Linda's first post here with all of the details!

So for this one, I found inspiration not just from Linda's tag.. the plaid... the numbers... the textured burlap, but also from Mitra's "tag" (aka jar... she's made jars and you should check them all out, but here's the one that inspired me for this one) I was inspired by her plaid fabric rose and I knew I had this plaid ribbon in my stash, so I made one too!  She also added some burlap to hers and see those pretty holly leaves and pearls... Mitra sent me those last Christmas in a cute little package of crafty items so I thought they were perfect for this cubby!

So one more cubby to finish the challenge and then I'm just filling in some empty spaces!   You still have time really... you should give it a try!  You have until the 29th to finish all of your "tags"!

I'm playing along with the Color My Heart Color dare Traditional Christmas Linky Challenge!  You should check that one out too!

Thanks for stopping and I'll be back to all my shenanigans soon!  Don't be a stranger!

JessicaLynnOriginal Miracles Take Time/Never Too Old To Dream Release

Welcome to the release of the new JessicaLynnOriginal stamp sets, Miracles Take Time and Never Too Old To Dream!    I've got a few makes to share with you today.

My first is a tag using the Miracles Take Time set... those cuties are from the new set... and the sentiment is from the Brentwood Owl Operation Snowball set. With this one I'm playing along with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags and I was inspired by Michele Ferguson's Tag from Day 14!  The elegant look.. the gold and the white.. so beautiful!  I'm also playing along the the Heart2Heart Enchantment Challenge.  I thought this tag felt a little enchanting!  And I'm also entering this into the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge and this week's Twist is to create a tag!

Update!  This one was a Top Pick over at the Outlawz!

I used the Miracles Take Time set for this one including the sentiment and

Next up I've used the Never Too Old To Dream set...

I thought these lanterns would be fun to use on their own... I've never been to one of these lantern releases, but I imagine they are beautiful to see!

And aren't these two so sweet?  I placed a flower in his hand because of course he brought her a flower!

With this one I'm linking up to the Heart2Heart  Count Your Blessings Challenge!  All of the Heart2Heart weekly challenges run all month so you should check them out and play along too!  I’m also playing along with the Outlawz Twisted Thursday with this tag!

Check out the

Just Don't Call Me A Scaredy Cat!

Quick post today!  I'm playing along with a couple challenges this morning using this cutie pie that was a Stamp of the Month over at CTMH last year... I was excited to pull him out to do some (mostly) no line coloring...lol!  The tags are from Stamplorations dies and I LOVE them!

I stamped him with Memento Desert Sand Ink so I had light lines... colored him with my copics... just the orange cat bits to start... then I took a piece of terry cloth and dabbed some alcohol on it and then held the cloth on my colored parts for three counts and moved it around creating the furry texture on the cat.  Then I finished coloring in the remainder.  I went back in and added some very faint stripes on his sides and head after I was all done.

I'm playing along with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and the Color My Heart Color Dare #259 that goes until this Thursday.  There's a new format and there are always two challenges going on at Color Dare!  And the 30 Day Coloring Challenge is always fun! Check out both!

Three Amigos Jack Inspiration for a Tuesday!

So happy you stopped by today!  I can't seem to get enough of these Jack papers and wanted to play along with a couple challenges as well, so I made a quick card this morning..

Don't you just love that second layer from the bottom??  I cut that with a die from Reverse Confetti!  The set comes with three different sized dies all like this one and the largest (shown here) is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 so you could use it as your whole bottom layer.  I wanted a white border so (sorry Mom) I made my card 1/4" bigger than usual.  (You see... she often puts my card fronts on bases for me and she gets quite aggravated when I go rogue and use a non-traditional size...lol!)  She may just give notice soon...

I so love the Inspire sentiment stamp set from CTMH... it's got four beautiful sentiments on it and decided the sentiment would be front and center for this one.. I am normally a rule follower in life.. I don't like to make waves.. but to be honest.. when it comes to the crafty world, I don't even know what the rules are... people try to tell me sometimes, but I just start to hear music in my head... sorry not sorry!

I knew I wanted to use some pretty white lace with this Buffalo Plaid paper... I love the contrast of the kind of manly print and the airy lace.  That heart is from Fun Stampers Journey and those pretty little pearly "flowers" were sent to me by a friend.  They were actually in a string but I found I could cut them apart with no problem and they were a perfect replacement for sequins on this one.  The chipboard arrows are from the Jack Complements.

And I love to keep some premade paper flowers on hand for when I don't have the time to create my own.. these are my two favorites and I got them at Hobby Lobby... I stock up when they're on sale.

Hope you like it!  There are still a few days left to play along with us at Three Amigos!  We do send out a small gift to the randomly drawn winner so even  more fun!  We hope you'll play along!

Today I'm also playing along with the Heart2Heart Anything Goes CTMH Style challenge!  You should check it out... you have to use at least one CTMH product...  and speaking of rule breaking... Color My Heart Color Dare is also playing with the Jack paper pack this time around and I intended on joining that one, but I made a mistake and didn't realize you had to use ALL the colors in the paper pack this time around so I'm not linking up, but you can!  So check them out too... that one goes 'til Thursday.

Three Amigos-Jack Inspiration

Popping in for some quick inspiration for the August 2017 Jack Inspiration Challenge at Three Amigos!  Here I used it for a 'masculine'? card... I mean.. yeah... it has flowers but my husband would expect nothing less from me...lol!

I'm also playing along with the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #256!  You still have today to whip something up... I made this one in about half an hour... you've got like 11!  And Three Amigos runs all month so if you create something, link up to both!

I just love this stamp set called My Anchor from CTMH... I think it's retired now, but I still love it.  It was a stamp and die set and I'm so glad I got the dies for these since some of the cuts wouldn't work with my Brother.  There are a few stamp and die sets retiring at the end of this month so check them out!  You can find them here!

I very rarely do too much planning so I had my background layers down and then wasn't sure how I was going to incorporate the peacock... it's such a dark blue and so close to black... so just using it and the Juniper for accents worked out well...

So yeah.. play along!

Do What Makes You Awesome!

Popping in for a very quick post today to remind you that you have a few hours left to play along with the May Challenge over at Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenges to use the paper pack from CTMH Little Dreamer, or inspiration from the colors in it!  Here is the paper pack:

Love this sentiment from Unity Stamp Co-their sentiments are my favorite!  It was perfect with some black glitter embossing powder....

And originally I had put flowers on this, but they just weren't right... so unlike me, I ripped off the flowers and found this leftover from one of the CTMH cartridges in my stash and it was perfect!  I also used some old embellishments... although now I have some flowers I need to use on another card so they aren't lying around...lol!

Hope you will play along with us!  And while you're at it, do what I did and play along over at Color My Heart Color Dare!  They are featuring Little Dreamer this week too!

Thanks for stopping and come back tomorrow for some Paper Sweeties goodness!

Little Dreamer and Paper Smooches!

Have you played along with us yet over at the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenges?  I'm sharing another card with the featured paper pack from Close to My Heart, Little Dreamer.  No worries though.. if you don't have this paper pack, then you can just use the colors.. here's the photo of the paper for inspiration:

So pretty right?  And you don't have to use unicorns with it, but I just couldn't help myself!

Love this sweet unicorn from Paper Smooches Spectrum stamp set!  I'm also playing along with the Paper Smooches Challenge this month which is flowers... I used these premade flowers from my stash and added some Wink of Stella to the ones that didn't have any glitter already on them.  I'm also playing along with this week's Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge.  They're featuring the colors from this paper pack too this month and it was a challenge for me to only use the colors specified...especially when it came to Juniper because I didn't have a marker that matched that color, but a mixture of blue, green, and gray did the trick... and I love the Scribbled Circles dies from Craftin Desert Divas... it was perfect for the silver in this color palette and I also used some silver Wink of Stella on her horn....

You Are!  I so appreciate you always stopping by and putting up with my shenanigans!  This sentiment is from the Paper Smooches set as well... I just love the fonts in Kim's sets.. so much fun!

You should play along with us at Three Amigos!  And if you play over at Color My Heart Color Dare, then you can definitely also play along with us at Three Amigos!  And check out Paper Smooches if you haven't before.  You do need to use at least one Paper Smooches product on your card or project, but if you don't have any, she's got some free digis there to help you get started!

And if you love to play along with the Three Amigos, grab our badge!  I think it's kinda very cute!

**Update** I was a winner over at Color Dare!
