Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas - February 2023 Edition!

Hello!  It's the 25th of the month and the Crafty Elves are sharing the Christmas Cards we made this month!

I'm gonna have to admit, my cards this month are last minute.  I thought I was only going to do one and then the Copic marker I was using threw up all over the image I was coloring and I thought all was lost!  And then I remembered these old papers from CTMH.  While working on another project and looking for some product I knew I had... still haven't found... I came across the cute die cuts from this pack and decided if I could find the papers, I'd make a card with these.

And once I started I couldn't stop!  The die cuts were so cute!  No coloring... just pre-colored die cuts, papers and a couple dies!  Oh.. and lots of adhesive...lol!

I'm not even going to tell you what paper pack this is... that would mean I'd have to get off my butt and go look and it is long retired.  I'd be happy to send some to anyone who wants it though... the die cuts are mostly depleted... but I have lots of especially the sheet I used for this card because I had bought it in bulk for a workshop.  I would cut it down to save postage into smaller pieces, but I'd love to mail some out!

This paper is the other side of that one!

Thank you so much for stopping!  Be sure to check out what Debra and Michael and Misty have created for you today!  And let me know if you'd like some of this paper.  I'll do this instead of drawing a winner this month.  And speaking of winners, lets find out who is the winner of some Happy Mail from last month's post!

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas - October 2021 Edition

Welcome back to this month's Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas!  Every 25th of the month, my fellow elves, Debra and Michael share the Christmas cards we created for the month!  And this month we have a special guest, Terri Albro Burson is joining us!  Be sure you visit them after you leave here to see what they've got for you!

Now!  Here's how I was inspired:

Some of you may or may not know, but my mom is a Close to My Heart Consultant and I love to see the new catalogs and (sometimes) even indulge and buy something.  When I saw these beautiful deer in the Holly and Ivy stamp set I knew I needed them!

I love the vintage look of these sweet deer!  I decided it was time to pull out my paper flowers  and create some bumpy cards for my Christmas stash.  I also used that cool frame also from CTMH, the Oval Frame Thin Cuts is perfect for this vintage feel!

All of my cards use a similar layout, but different papers and colors all from a Tim Holtz paper pack I picked up last year.

And I used all of the same Copic markers for each of them too... easy peasy!

Also, over at Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers they’re having a Falling For The Holiday Hop with lots of inspiration and prizes!  Check it out and play along!

I used die cuts from Rubbernecker and A Jillian Vance Design as well as some paper flowers from my stash and crocheted flowers from a crafty friend in Australia.  It was so much fun working in this style again... lots of layers and flowers.

I can't pick a favorite ... they all are similar but have a different feel and I love them all!

The white crocheted flowers were from a bundle I purchased on Etsy.

And the deer are so easy to color because there is a lot of shading on the image.  I stamped them in a dark brown Memento ink because I knew I'd be coloring them with Copics.

Of course I have some plaid in here... I'm Mad4Plaid!

These will all definitely take some extra postage!   But I've gotten pretty good at figuring that out without going to the Post Office... I think... hope you'll all let me know if I'm wrong!!  I usually round up though so I should be good!

That's me!

Before you go let's see who won some Happy Mail from last month's post:

Whisking You A Happy Day!

I've got a special one for you today using some adorable stamps from Close To My Heart!

As soon as I saw these adorable Kitchen Gnomes I knew I had to have them!  They are perfect for a birthday card for my son who is a chef!  I stamped, die cut and colored them in with my Copics.  Then I ink blended Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxides through the stencil and adhered red and white bases to it.  Finally I popped the frame up over the stenciled panel and added all of the images using various thicknesses of foam tape.  I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment and then popped that up over it too!

I also used one of my favorite frames and that cool stencil from Rubbernecker Stamps.  Aren't these guys adorable??  I'm pretty sure he'll love it!

Thanks so much for stopping!  Hope you'll co me again soon!

Fabulous Favorites Challenge - Papertrey Ink

Good Monday morning!  (Is that a thing?  Let me get to the bottom of my cup and I'll let you know).  So... over at Papertrey Ink they've changed up the challenges a little bit!  Every Wednesday you can get all of the information you need for all kinds of ways to win some free Papertrey Ink stuff!  Some for commenting; answering questions; or participating by creating something!  Lots of fun and ways to win.

Today I'm playing along with Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Challenge.  Your mission is to create something using at least one Papertrey Ink product showcasing your favorite accessory.  Mine is sequins... it seems no matter what kind of card or project I create, you'll find a sequin on almost every one!  These cards are part of a set I'm creating as a sample for a coworker who has requested some notecards to give as gifts to some of her church friends.  Unlike me, I wanted to keep them flat for mailing, but I still wanted a little bit of bling on them and I happened to have some flat sequins that were just right.

I didn't have any PTI sequins so I used these from my stash, however I did have that gorgeous frame from the Fun Frame Dies.  That is definitely one of my fave PTI dies... I mean really... the plaid ones are my very favorite...lol... but for this project, the Fun Frame dies were perfect!  I only embellished one so that she could see them with and without and decide what she likes best.  Of course I'll add flowers and sequins to each later because these are for me!

Other dies I used on this one were the Inside Stitched Rectangles and Alphas are from Kat Scrappiness, the flower is from Divinity Designs, and the stitched half rectangles are from CC Designs.  Quick post today... have to get ready for work.  You have until tomorrow to play along over at PTI.. check out this post here for this week's challenges and you can link up to this challenge here!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenges-Christmas/Winter/Holiday

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #21!  For December our challenge is Christmas/Winter/Holiday!  Here's how I was inpired:

So, surprise... there is a coffee/cocoa element to my card!..lol!  You'll find out why in just a bit if you don't already know.

But you should also know that we are collaborating again with the ladies over at Double Trouble Challenges!  Double Trouble is a fun challenge blog that likes to get together with other challenges and support each other.  You get chances to win a very thoughtful and cool prize and the more challenge elements you meet the more chances you get!  The Challenge over at Double Trouble during our collaboration is Embossing... any kind!  There is also a fun twist over there which is Let It Snow... add anything snow for an extra chance to win!  AND as if you didn't know, the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is going on right now and at Double Trouble, if you also play along over there by adding a Coffee, Cocoa, or Tea element to your creation, you not only can link up at Coffee Lovers, but you get an extra chance to win at Double Trouble!  I should have plenty of chances with my card because I've added it all!

I started by coloring this gorgeous and nostalgic image from the Snuggle Down stamp set from Power Poppy Stamps over Thanksgiving weekend.  I just LOVE how cozy it feels and it is perfect with that beautiful pack of retired CTMH paper, Jack.  If I could get my hands on another pack, I would... awesome awesome papers in that one.  I cut my rectangle layers using the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness and the banners were cut using the Fishtail Banners from MFT.  And the double fishtail is from the Flag Banner Dies from Craftin Desert Divas.. another one of my most used sets!  And then there are the awesome glittery snowflakes cut from some glitter paper from Lawn Fawn.  Take Note - Embossed Sentiment, Snowflakes, Coffee and Cocoa.  Right??  How easy was that?!

I hope you enjoyed your stop today and I hope you'll play along with us over at Three Amigos as well as check out what is going on over at Double Trouble and The Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  Be sure to hop on over to Donna and Susan's place and check out what they've created too!

Be sure to come back soon... I'll be sharing all things coffee, tea and cocoa all week long!

Fall/Winter 2018 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop-Day 3 1/2

Well, Day 3 of the Fall/Winter 2018 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is moving along and I have one more for you today!  Here's what I've been working on:

I don't know what it is, but I'm really enjoying these darker colors right now... along with a little bit of plaid it's such a cozy feel I think!  Again I'm using some retired CTMH papers from the Jack paper pack.  I started by using my favorite Double Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness for my first layer attached to my base.  Then I used the 8 Point Star Quilt Die from A Jillian Vance Design and cut a window into the gray plaid and then cut it twice more.. once from a red plaid and once from plain red cardstock.  I attached my gray plaid to the black base and then pieced together my quilt inside the open square.  I kept the color palette tone on tone so that it would be a nice backdrop.

Then I cut the cup from some Carta Bella paper from the Let It Snow Paper Pad that had a nice dainty snow print on it in all the right colors using the Coffee, Tea and Me die set from Jillian Vance... awesome cup set!!  The steam comes with it and this may be my new favorite steam for almost any cup I have...lol!  I cut it out of some white glitter paper along with the little hearts that are part of the steam die and they are so sweet.  I added a couple snowflakes from my stash that I felt lent themselves to being part of the steam.

And this Joy word die with a snowflake for the O ... love it!   This was a set in my stash I've had for a while, but you could do this with any alpha set and snowflake.  I got lucky and this was just the right size!

Rather than your typical Coffee sentiment, I decided to keep this one open so I could send it to anyone.  I love the sentiments on the Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags stamp set... such a nice size and fit perfectly on the largest of the Flag Banner Dies from Craftin Desert Divas.

And please do come back tomorrow!  It will be time for a new Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge and we've got something special going on!
