National Coffee Day WEEK with Coffee Loving Cardmakers!

Welcome to some more caffeinated inspiration!  All week over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog we're celebrating National Coffee Day WEEK!  I'm up on the Blog today sharing a post and some inspiration with my Coffee Loving Teamie Robyn.  Did you know Sunday was National Coffee Day?  And we kicked off our week long celebration with a huge blog hop with 29 Sponsors and tons of prizes at each stop (including on the CLC Blog!)  So when you're done here, if you haven't hopped yet, head on over HERE!  You have until October 6th to comment for chances to win prizes.

Here's my first project for today:

I started off this one using a very cool caffeinated item from A Jillian Vance Design, the Coffee Collage INKBoss Inkpression Plate.  There are a couple great videos here on the AJVD Blog that explain the Inkpression Plates and have some great techniques.  I ran some mixed media cardstock through my Gemini with the Inkpression Plate and then used Distress Oxides in Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, and Ground Espresso and blended them over the embossed impression.  I dried it with a heat gun and then pressed a Versamark pad over the entire panel and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Next I blended some Mustard Seed and Vintage Photo onto some leftover mixed media paper and cut out the cup from the Coffee, Tea & Me die set.  I used the same paper to cut a banner using the Bannerific dies from Paper Smooches.  I cut the steam from Coffee, Tea & Me from some glitter paper (isn't it just THE most beautiful steam die??).

I wanted to add some leaves, but didn't have any in quite the right color or size... and as I flipped through my leaf dies, I landed on these awesome Autumn Leaves from Newton's Nook.  I created my own glitter paper with some more cardstock colored with all the same Distress Oxides and then heat embossed using Wow Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder.  I used it to cut the leaves and acorn from NN and another banner.  The sentiment is from AJVD's But First Coffee Stamp Set.

I'm so loving that INKboss plate and looking forward to playing again!

Next some Paper Smooches:

I cheated a bit on this one... I had colored that beautiful floral from Rosy Posy during the last 30 Day Coloring Challenge and it's been waiting for its turn on a card since... and that cup from Cuppa Sunshine was perfect to hold it.

I just love the room that Paper Smooches images give you for coloring and shading.  Not too big and not too small... just right!

Not to mention some of the best sentiments... love this one from Fun & Flirty.  I stamped and fussy cut it out to take up the least amount of real estate.  And that beautiful scallop from the Flaunters die set is the perfect backdrop.

I just added a few clear sequins to finish it off!

And!  Since you took time to come visit me here I have another card for you today:

You know in September I created a bunch of backgrounds using leftover die cuts from the Wavy Pattern die.  This is the fifth card I've created using those "leftovers".   If you'd like to see the others you can find my Wavy Card 1 hereCard 2 here, Card 3 here, and Card 4 here!

I decided to use this image from the Posh Planters set!  And since my background is a rainbow, I colored my desert sky in the same colors.  And those clouds... I LOVE these clouds!!

I thought the sentiment from Sunnyville was perfect!

So that's me for today!  I hope you enjoyed your stop!  And be sure you checkout Robyn's post HERE and you can find our shared post on the CLC Blog HERE!  And if you haven't hopped the National Coffee Day Blog Hop yet, then please do!  You can start HERE and you have until October 6th.

Celebrating the Inky Paws 100th Challenge!

Popping in quick today to play along with the 100th Inky Paws Challenge!  I've had this sweet Little Lilies stamp set for a little while now and I loved this chance to ink it up!  Lily of the Valley is one of my top 10 favorite flowers.  They are SO pretty and SO sweet and SO fragrant!  Coming from the Western New York area it wasn't uncommon to come across a stand of Lily of the Valley and before we moved to the Southwest I was working on my own patch near my house.  It was just starting to spread when we decided to move out here to the Southwest and they don't grow well here so I do miss them!!

Speaking of favorites, the challenge for #100 is to play along with your Favorite previous challenge.  Well... I have a really hard time picking favorites but I landed on this sketch challenge which was Challenge #73

I love this sketch because of the clear focal point which was perfect for this sweet flower... and the chance that the banners and middle strip give you to add some contrasting or coordinating colors and patterns... yet you have all of that blank space on the top and bottom for lots of your favorite color or pattern... or blank space if you prefer... but let's face it.. I'm not a big blank space person!  I've got all of this paper!  I might as well use it!

Some other products I've used today are these Nested Rectangles from Rubbernecker; this beautiful Heart Circle Die from Gina K Designs; and these Stitched Fishtail Banners from Elizabeth Crafts.

I'm also playing along over at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge which is Anything Goes this week!  And you can find the 100th Inky Paws Challenge here, but hurry because you only have a few hours left to play along!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!  Come again soon!

Kat Scrappiness August Challenge-Critters and Coffee!

Well, of course when I found out that Kat Scrappiness was having a challenge this month of Coffee and Critters - my two most favorite things - I knew I had to play along!  I started with one of my favorite die sets, the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies from the shop and some cute Doodlebug Pineapple paper! I love these dies when I want a simple background with just the little bit of character the stitching gives them.  They are just the right sizes for all kinds of projects!

I knew right away I'd be using this awesome Layered Coffee Cup Die from the KS shop!  It was a lot of fun to use them along with this pretty upcycled Coffee Cozy I picked up on my recent trip ... our hotel had the coolest coffee cozies!  And this one had some pretty tropical flair so it was just right!

I picked up this adorable owl from Technique Tuesday and was excited to use her here!  Loved that she had a crown of flowers on... probably placed on her head and she exited the airplane on her way to her tropical vacation!  And those beautiful Hibiscus dies from Newton's Nook... got those a while ago also and was excited to use them with some watercolored paper from my stash.

When I was deciding on a sentiment, I finally landed on this simple die cut one from Stamplorations.  I love making my sentiments so that the card will be the most flexible to send for any occasion!

And here's your inspiration photo!

Hope you'll play along with this fun challenge!  I'm also playing along over at Double Trouble challenges where the theme is Summer  and they're teaming up with Heartful Stamping Challenge's Dog Days of Summer as well so I'm linking up there too!  And can't forget the Outlawz Twisted Thursday where the twist is Travel/Vacation!  You should definitely check these two out as well!

Time to get ready for work and out the door!  Please do come back tomorrow for some Cutting Cafe Inspiration!  Thanks for stopping!

Coffee Hop-Day 8-JessicaLynnOriginal Meets Newton

So it's almost time to wrap up the Fall 2017 Coffee Lovers Bloghop!  I don't want to talk about it... so here's what I put together this morning:

As soon as I saw that cute coffee and yarn image from JLO, I knew it was going to be fun!!  So I was driving home last night thinking about how I might use it first and all of a sudden this kooky idea started to form.

I thought.. it gets chilly in the Fall... even here... big difference between 100 and 75!  And it's when our thoughts start to turn to warm blankets, slippers, and yes... trendy sweaters and boots.  And then I thought about Newton... because I wanted to use some Newton stamps before the end of the hop.. and I thought I bet he gets chilly too!  So what if it was starting to bug him and of course Newton is pretty smart... so he starts thinking... hmmm... a sweater would be quite awesome... but he knew he was going to need coffee for this great undertaking!

Next day... there he is... in his beautiful sweater he knit with the help of his good friend, Coffee... I knew he could do it!

I mean, really, does it get any cuter than this??

or this????

And OMG... this????!!!!!

So as I was searching for the perfect sentiment, I came across this one from a fantastic Precious Remembrance set and it was perfect... 'cause I KNEW he could do it!!

The Newtons, the coffee cup, leaves and swirly stamps are from Newton's Nook, the yarn-Jessica's awesome mind at JessicaLynnOriginal, and the diecut leaves are from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks so much for stopping by once again!  This may or may not be my last post for this hop... might squeak one more in after work... but in the meantime, don't forget about this:

You can find more details on my Day 1 Blog post here!

Until we meet again!

Newton Rides (South)West!

Howdy!  Sharing a card with you today using the adorable Prickly Pear papers and Complements from CTMH along with a new stamp I got from Newton's Nook during the awesome release last month.  I won a stamp set!!! (not this one, but I'll share something with that later!)  I couldn't resist all of the cactus/western themed sets that were released and I just might have ended up with all of them taking up residence in my Southwest home...

I'm playing along with the Cardz TV Anything Goes Challenge #5 with this one.  You should check it out!

I just love Newton and especially love him in his Cowboy duds!  And there are quite a few adorable cowboy Newtons in the Newton Rides West Set... you can check it out here!  Here I did a simple little scene with Newton and the cactus and scalloped piece are from the Prickly Pear Complements.  The die behind them... I must admit I don't know who it's from... I borrowed it from my mom at a crop last weekend, but I plan on finding out because I love it!

The banner is from CDD and the cute little horseshoe and sheriff's badge are from the Newton Rides West set as well... so cute!

I used that fantastic Retro Arrow background die again from Paper Smooches that you can still get in the clearance section over there!  Love this die and the price is more than right!

So thanks for stopping by and do come back again.. I'll be back Monday with Atlantic Hearts and next week starts the Paper Sweeties August Release... hope to see you soon!

And don't forget my giveaway!  You can find out more about that here!
