All of the shapes are from the stencil set and I added some touches of Nuvo Drops.  I even used the triangles to create some butterflies!

I had a lot of fun with this one!

Paper Sweeties February 2019 New Release Sneak Peeks!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties February 2019 New Release and Happy Valentines Day!  Today we're sneaking some peeks and tomorrow the new Planner Series: All Occasions Stamp and Sweet Cuts sets will be available in the shop!  For this Valentines Day, I've used the heart in the Stamp set to create this background.

I started by stamping the heart from the All Occasions set and the arrow from the Checklist Planner set in Versamark diagonally across the paper and heat embossed with white powder.  Then I blended some Distress Inks over the images and wiped them lightly with a wet paper towel to remove the ink from the images.  I used some of the same Distress Ink to watercolor in a few of the hearts to make them darker.  And finally I splattered some metallic watercolor over the top..

That sweet little girl is from the Checklist set too and her sign was perfect to stamp the XOX from the Get Your Craft on set.  I added the Circle Scallop frame because it was just sitting there waiting for me to use it and it was just right for this!  And I love those flowers from the Hello Spring set are among my favorite... they were perfect to have floating around.  I colored them with Copics and added a black Nuvo Drop center.

And I love all of the sentiments on the Love You To Pieces Sentiment set!  I embossed this one onto a tag cut with the Stitched Tags #1 Sweet Cut.  The pink I used on this wasn't a bright pinky pink and had a kind of orange tint to it.  So I used some ink and swiped it on the pink ribbon until it was the color I wanted and then tied it around the card front and through the tag.

One more flower and it was done!

I hope I made you look at your Planner Stamps in a different way!  Sometimes those smaller images are really sweet on cards.. for a background or an embellishment... or idk... you tell me!

I'm playing along with a couple challenges!  Over at Double Trouble it's all about Flowers!  And I've managed to meet the Twist Twisted Sister... Bow starts with B!  I'm also playing along at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday... the twist this time around is Flowers!  AND I'm playing along the sweet photo inspiration over at Cupcake Inspirations!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #204 Inspiration - Rainbows & Butterflies

It's time for a new challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays!   This time around it's all about Rainbows and Butterflies and I think I've got plenty of both for you:

I started by creating my rainbow background using my Distress Oxides... I just ink blended from one corner to the next going back over to make a nice smooth transition to each color...I love all of the extra colors the inks create as they blend together.  After my ink was all blended I splattered on some water droplets and dabbed them with a paper towel.  I heat set the inks and also used an EK Success Powder Tool to remove the static before I stamped my butterflies from the Be Stamp Set in a diagonal pattern in Versamark and then heat embossed them in white.

I love to use the Bubble Box Fri-Dies for sentiments and background layers.  I cut the black and vellum piece from two of the dies from that set.  This beautiful sentiment is also from the Be Stamp Set!  (It's quite an awesome set and you should definitely check it out here!)  I heat embossed it in white on the black layer and the vellum was simply to give the sentiment some bulk without covering too much of my background up.

I wanted to add one more butterfly... as if one had strayed from the group and decided to take a break... so I stamped another style of butterfly from the Be Stamp set in Memento Sand ink.  I like to use this ink when I'm going to attempt some no line coloring because it's light.  I colored all of the butterfly pieces with Copics, blending along the way in a rainbow pattern and fussy cut it out.  Then to finish the card off, I added some Nuvo drops in white and black in a random pattern and a few sequins!

That's me for today!  Be sure to check out what the rest of the team has created for you today and then get creating!  I can't wait to see yours!

Hope I've inspired you!  What are you playing for? 10 winning entries will be highlighted on the CAS-ual Fridays Blog the Thursday before a new challenge goes live!  We call it the Happy Hour!  In addition a $25 gift certificate goes to the overall winner.  AND if the chosen winner uses CAS-ual Fridays stamps and/or dies as the main focus for the card, the gift certificate increases to $50!

So what are you waiting for!  Nothing to lose and $25 to $50 of awesome stuff to gain!  Hope to see you over there

Paper Sweeties July Blast From The Past Inspiration!

At Paper Sweeties this month we're sharing projects old and new using some of our favorite Paper Sweeties products!  This idea has been rolling around in my head since last month's release of the Treat Box Add On Home & Garden.

I started with some of my favorite plaid paper and cut the largest Scalloped Circle Frame from yellow vellum.

If you come here often you know I love coffee cups and thinking of new ways to use them in my cards!  I used the Cup die from the Keep Calm and Drink Coffee Sweet Cuts.  My door from the Home & Garden Sweet Cuts was a little too big and wouldn't allow for the windows, so I positioned it low on the cup and cut the bottom along the lines of the cup.  It makes me wonder what kind of little creature has made its home in this coffee cup!  I used Nuvo drops to add flowers to my window boxes since I didn't have any flowers small enough to add to it!

And I was so excited when I realized that the snowflake dies from two of my Paper Sweeties sets made great die cut flowers!!  I used Nuvo drops again for the centers.

And I thought this sweet little sentiment from the Handmade For You Stamp set was just right on the stitched banner from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts.

Thanks for stopping!  Be sure to visit all of my teamies to see what they've created for you:

Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us Release Week Challenge June 2018

A quick post for today!  I wanted to play along with the Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us Challenge for this month as well as the Tall and Skinny Twist over at Outlawz for this week's Twisted Thursday!  ALSO, there's a new challenge called Double Trouble and my mom and her friends are running it.  They team up with other challenges each time and you get extra chances to win at their challenge if you also join the other challenge.  This time around they're teaming up with the Three Amigos.  I've used both die cuts and no design paper on this, so I'm entering it over there!

Anywho, after some mishaps this morning, I was able to get this done and I love it!

For Create Along With Us, you should create something using inspiration from the DT makes for the release!  I was inspired by Stephanie Gold's design at the top of this post... the way she stamped her flowers coming up from the bottom of the card, the Kraft and white... but I really couldn't add my sentiment like hers because I felt it would leave too much space at the top, so I also gained inspiration from Heather Nichols creation here ... also the kraft... that sentiment at the top with mixed colors and dimension.

I also decided to add lots of dots ... still inspired by last week's Make It Monday challenge and I love to use Nuvo's to add "splatters" when I need control... although sometimes even they get a little out of control...lol!  I used the lavender from the Stemmed Statements set from PTI... LOVE that floral set... so happy I purchased it and the dies!!

And I chose this sentiment because courage is something I have to muster up right now.  Nothing earth shattering... just thinking about making a change with my job and I need to work myself up to it.  I'm not really afraid of change, however, I know my leaving would affect a lot of the people I love best there in a bad way, so I'm fearful of hurting them.  I know they would understand and wouldn't be mad... it's just the thought of making things more difficult for them.  Anyway, I love this Words To Live By Courage set!!!  And that beautiful butterfly from the Butterfly Blooms stamp set!  (I tried lots of dots on that one too like in last weeks beautiful creation by Michelle Leone but either she's very good at making tiny dots or her butterflies were bigger... and I do want that set to!...lol)

So gotta run!  Late for work!  Maybe I'm hoping they make my decision for me, but I don't think that's gonna happen!..lol!

Keep crafting and I'll see you again tomorrow with some Paper Sweeties goodness!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #324: Lots O' Dots

Popping in with a "quick" card I made for the Make It Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink which is Lots O' Dots this week!  I had to make a birthday card for a co-worker's husband.  He's turning 70 this year and he is always baking for us at work!  Yes... he bakes.. and he's quite awesome at it!

So, I knew I wanted to use my new Shape Shifters Circle 1 Die and I knew it had to be manly and figured I'd use my Kat Scrappiness Condensed Number dies for a 70 and that's about it.  And when I saw the pretty butterfly in the inspiration video for this challenge, which I just happen to have (also new) it made me sad I couldn't use it..lol!  And I didn't really have any man stamps that would lend themselves to polka dots... in fact, I really don't have much in the way of man stamps at all... what can I say?  I loves me some girly papercrafting stuff.  I scrapbooked boy pages for almost a decade before I discovered cardmaking.

So, I pulled out my Authentique "Rugged" man paper and just started cutting things!

Isn't that Shape Shifter die pretty cool?  I placed a solid blue piece behind it in a dark blue so that the design still showed up, but wasn't too distracting.  I also had a blue diecut behind it and offset my top piece just a bit and popped up the top piece.

I cut the numbers once from the design paper and then three more times from cardstock and stacked them.  I just love the way it adds so much dimension.  Then I took the flames from some candle dies and added them to the top to make them number candles.

Then I cut my sentiment using the Boho Rounds Sentiments but didn't die cut the entire sentiment... all I needed was the word Enjoy.  I added it to the card and added some liquid glass to it.  I decided my dots would just be scattered dots on the paper.  I am not happy with the performance of these gold Nuvo Drops.  They didn't keep their shape and some ended up more flat than I wanted.  Note to future card making self.  But for these purposes, it'll work.  I also added some to the top left corner to balance out the card a bit.

There.  Done.  I need two other man cards this week and thank goodness I already have them made because this one took a lot out of me....lol!  I really do need to get better at this.  Maybe I'll try another soon.

Thanks for stopping and please do come back soon!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the 2018 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop!  If you're unfamiliar with this most awesome event, please do click here to check out all of the rules (after you're done hanging out at my place of course!)  Today, I'm playing with some brand new stamps from a pretty new stamp company Ink Road Stamps!  Here's what I have for you today:

So I came across this non descript light blue watercolored background piece in my pile of abandoned pieces.  It really wasn't exciting at all... so light in color and I could have added lots more, but I decided it would be just right as a backdrop to this one.  So I stamped those beautiful flowers from the Bella Flora stamp set... beautiful flowers and so easy to color as well as a couple beautiful sentiments... you must check this one out!  **Note: I've provided a link to the Ink Road website, however at the time that I'm writing this the shop is temporarily closed for updating and will re-open later this morning and at that time I'll add links.  Be sure to check back on Lara then because there are some cool things coming!  Until that time, you can join the Ink Road Roadies group on Facebook here to get notifications and share your Ink Road creations**

So... this cup from Cas-ual Fridays... one of my very favorites!  You know I judge a coffee cup die by whether the handle is cut out...lol.. and this one has an awesome heart shaped cut out handle.... can you say perfection!  And the opening where the coffee goes cuts out separate and it's easy to just cut that part in white so you can color it your favorite shade of coffee :)  I LOVE this cup!!  (And there is a sale on Coffee/Tea themed items in the Cas-ual Fridays shop right now through June 1st!)

AND... that sentiment from the Majestic AF stamp set from Ink Road??  Perfect for a coffee card ... in fact!  But this set is not a coffee set:

IDK... the fact that I'm up right now is pretty Majestic AF and I do believe I deserve some congrats... don't you love this Sassy Unicorn??

Speaking of Unicorns, I'm playing along with the current Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #447

It was fun and easy to watercolor these big bold blooms from Bella Flora with my watercolor pencils and a water brush.  And to finish it off, I added lots of Nuvo Drop "splatters" and a few sparkly gems to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping today!  Be sure to come back because I'll be back today with another one!  Happy Hopping!  If you play along, I'll be visiting your place "soonish"...lol.. I think I'm almost to 400 right now.. on my way back to start visiting this morning!
