Paper Sweeties Challenge - December 2017 Anything Goes!

Welcome to this month's Paper Sweeties Anything Goes Challenge!  Isn't that a sweet inspiration photo??  And here's how I was inspired:

I'm getting ready for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop so I thought I'd warm up a bit and share something Coffee-y with you!  I was inspired by the wood.. the colors and patterns... and the Christmas theme.

I started with my plaid background and then cut the wood background using the Circle Scallop Frames Sweet Cuts.

Then I cut a cup from the Keep Calm And Drink Coffee Sweet Cups and stamped the Joy sentiment from the new Meet Me Under The Mistletoe stamp set on it and popped it up on the card.

I used the Holly Sweet Cuts form the Meet Me Under The Mistletoe set to cut some leaves as well as the squigglies from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts.  I stamped the cute little birdie from the Hippity Hoppity Easter stamp set using some Sand Memento Ink so that I could do some no line coloring on this cutie... I made her into a Cardinal for the Christmas Season and I think she's enjoying her Holiday outfit. I colored right over her eye because I knew I could draw it back in and cut of the flower in her "hair" knowing it would be extra hard to color around and that I could add a paper flower later.  I nestled my little Tweetie in amongst the holly and twigs inside my cup and then added some strawberry sequins for berries.

I finished it off with some crinkly seambinding and a few more paper flowers.

I'm playing along with the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Anything Goes Challenge for this week!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you are inspired to create something for this month's challenge!

Outlawz Progressive Challenge-November

Surprise post today!  So I'm under the wire with this one!  And I have to confess that when I realized I hadn't done this challenge yet the thought of creating a Fall themed card when I'm kinda in Christmas mode wasn't thrilling... but ... I'm in love and so happy with what I came up with!  It's for the Freebie/Progressive Challenge over at The Outlawz group... you get a freebie each month as long as you keep playing along!

I've been wanting to try a spotlight card for a while... not that it's super difficult I just forget when it comes time to create and when I thought about this image and that I had just a short time to get my project done this morning the spotlight effect seemed perfect!

Since I'd only have to color a part of the image, I could get it done in the timeframe I had.  It scared me a bit... how would it look... would it be right with not the whole image colored?

So I started by pulling my image into Word, sizing it, and then copying it so I could print out two in the same size.  Then I diecut the part I would color and decided I wanted to place the square crooked on my piece... which became challenging when looking for the right paper to use, but then I remembered this gorgeous Harvest Moon paper pad from Prima that I had gotten at my LSS and it was perfect!  I ink distressed all of my pieces using Antique Linen Distress Ink and it brought it all together.

Don't you love that scalloped rectangle die from Reverse Confetti???

I tried to give it a kind of a shabby chic flavor to it, so I'm also entering this into the Shabby Chic challenge on Facebook at Play Creative.

The leaf is from Prima, the orange flower I got in a bunch of goodies from Yvonne Yam, the sweet little flowers are from Hobby Lobby, and those pretty brown droplets are from Your Next Stamp.  That beautiful crinkly seam binding ribbon is from DL Art and I cut that cute sentiment from the paper pad.

Thanks so much for stopping!  Time to get off to work!  Come back tomorrow for the December Challenge over at Paper Sweeties!  (You know... if you want... I can't make you... free will and all of that)

2017 Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas-Tag #5

The hurrier I go the behinder I get!  My Grandma used to say that and it came up recently with a friend whose Dad used to say it also... it's from Alice & Wonderland and it's sooo true this time of year!  Here I am, on Week 5 of the Funkie Junkie's 12 Tags of Christmas!  She just revealed her Week 10 tag!!...lol!  Luckily I have until December 29th to finish all of mine and believe me.. I am loving my project(s) so much there is no doubt I will finish!  Linda's tag is above and here is how I was inspired:

If you're here often you know that instead of tags, my friend Mitra found this old golf ball display shelf and prettied it up for me so that I could use it for this challenge.  I'm decorating a cubby(ies) for each tag.  Check out Mitra's blog here... wait 'til you see what she's making!

I was inspired by the vintage image of Santa... and believe it or not in all of my large stash of stamps... not ONE vintage Santa... so I hopped on over to the Funkie Junkie Boutique which you can find here!  She's got all kinds of fun and funkie stuff in that shop... just love it!  I found this quite awesome Graphic 45 St. Nicholas set for only $8... you can check it out here and it's on sale now if you find you must have it!  I stamped it on Colonial White cardstock with Versamark Ink and used some Gilded embossing powder from Brutus Monroe... LOVE!  Then I ink distressed it using some Vintage Photo Distress Ink from Tim Holtz.

I was also inspired by the wood elements in the tag and I dug out this pretty wooden frame that I bought on clearance after last Christmas and while I was waiting for my stamp set to arrive, I painted it with white Gesso and then sloppily added some acrylic paint in Seaglass and that pretty gold.  I attached the stamped image to the back of the frame and attached the whole thing to my cubby... as you can see it overlaps, but I LOVE that it does and I have plenty of cubbies left to finish the challenge.  When I'm all done with every tag, I'll fill in around with lots more stuff.

I added the bells to throw in some red and some pinecones and snowflakes to tie it in with the rest of the piece.

That's it!  I've already got #6 rolling around in my head but lots going on here this week, so it might be a bit before I get that one but hope you'll come back to check it all out!  And it's not too late for you to play along with the Funkie Junkie challenge!  You can make tags or cards or fancy golf ball shelves... anything you want as long as each piece is inspired by the tag for that week!  Be sure to check out all of the details in the first post here and then play along!  I'd love to hear about it if you do so I can come and check out what you're up to also!

Thanks for stopping and see you soon!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #240

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  You're finally there!  My last layout for my mini album!  I'll be posting pics of the whole thing in a while if you're interested.. but for now, here it is!

I flipped the sketch and swapped out some shapes... gear and compass for flowers and diamond shape for the oval.

Thanks for going on this ride with me and my mini album and hanging in there with me!  It was a lot of fun and made putting this album together pretty easy since the layouts were already set for me!

Here's the sketch and hope you'll play along with us this week!

An Awesome Galaxy Background (And A Sale!)

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!  Today I'm just popping in with a card I made for a friend at work to give her grandson to congratulate him for being Student of the Month!  And stay tuned to find out about an awesome sale!

I decided to create another Galaxy Background (or three)...lol!  I learned how to create these during MFT Camp create and when you're done here, you can check out a great video here!  But don't go yet!

Then I used my watercolor pencils and waterbrush to color in these images from Paper Smooches Space Cadet stamp set.  Love the great images and sentiments on this one... but the sentiment I used is actually from the Spectrum stamp set.

And I thought it would make a pretty cool slider card and turns out, I was right!

So now!  If you haven't heard, Paper Smooches is having an awesome Black Friday Sale!  Check it out here!  You won't regret it!!  I'm more than likely shopping right now!  Well, if you're here at midnight I'm probably sleeping... but as soon as I'm up and caffeinated!

Come back soon!  Lots going on here in December!

JessicaLynnOriginal Miracles Take Time/Never Too Old To Dream Release

Welcome to the release of the new JessicaLynnOriginal stamp sets, Miracles Take Time and Never Too Old To Dream!    I've got a few makes to share with you today.

My first is a tag using the Miracles Take Time set... those cuties are from the new set... and the sentiment is from the Brentwood Owl Operation Snowball set. With this one I'm playing along with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags and I was inspired by Michele Ferguson's Tag from Day 14!  The elegant look.. the gold and the white.. so beautiful!  I'm also playing along the the Heart2Heart Enchantment Challenge.  I thought this tag felt a little enchanting!  And I'm also entering this into the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge and this week's Twist is to create a tag!

Update!  This one was a Top Pick over at the Outlawz!

I used the Miracles Take Time set for this one including the sentiment and

Next up I've used the Never Too Old To Dream set...

I thought these lanterns would be fun to use on their own... I've never been to one of these lantern releases, but I imagine they are beautiful to see!

And aren't these two so sweet?  I placed a flower in his hand because of course he brought her a flower!

With this one I'm linking up to the Heart2Heart  Count Your Blessings Challenge!  All of the Heart2Heart weekly challenges run all month so you should check them out and play along too!  I’m also playing along with the Outlawz Twisted Thursday with this tag!

Check out the

Cutting Cafe Inspiration-Tissue Box Covers!

Welcome to some Cutting Cafe Inspiration!  This time around we're playing with the Tissue Box Covers!  I've created mine using a wintery holiday themed paper...

I decorated my cover with a pretty snowflake doily and this adorable little Happy Owlidays stamp from the Cutting Cafe.  You can get the printable image here or you can do like I did and have it made into a custom clear stamp by Regina through the Cutting Cafe Shop!

This cover was so quick and easy to make!  I just imported the svg file into my Design Space program, adjusted the size according to the instructions (just make sure you choose the right sizes with the right parts because that's how they cut best...lol!  Ask me how I know...)  Then I "Attached" the pieces and cut!  You get nice dashed perforations where the folds go and cuts in all of the right places.  So easy to fold and glue together.  There are cuts for a standard rectangle type tissue box and this smaller kind of square one.   Easy peasy!

How much fun would it be to decorate a tissue box to put in a get well basket for a friend... there are some really cute sentiments with the set also... or do like I did and decorate a plain cheap box for the holidays... easy to switch them out as the seasons change and you can save them or recycle them when you're finished!

Now be sure to check out what everyone has created for you today!  Start at the Cutting Cafe Blog and comment there for a chance to win some free files and then check out what my Design Teamates have created!

Thanks A Lot-Paper Smooches

Happy Sunday!  Today I'm sharing some more watercolor with some Paper Smooches stamps.  Today I've used the Best Buds stamp set again... just love these sweet flowers in the jar.  I watercolored my background and then splattered some additional blue on after it was dry and then splattered some water.

I watercolored the flowers using my Zig Clean Color markers and added just a bit of color to the jar in blue as a reflection of the blue.

I'm playing along with the Penny Black and More November challenge, Flower Power!  You should check it out!

This cutie pie bear is from the adorable Curious Cuties stamp set and the sentiment is from Best Buds.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see you again soon!
