Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Day 8 - Final Project

Guess I've gotta talk about it now... no more avoiding it.  For me, this is the end...lol!  Oh that sounds SO ominous...lol!  I mean, this is my last project for the Spring/Summer 2019 Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  You can still link up until 11:55 pm Pacific Time tonight... but me... I need to do some shopping before all of the great sales are done!  Priorities people!!

Did you know Jessica Lynn Original has some really adorable digis over in her shop?  And all of her coffee stamps... digital and clear are on sale!  Get the code and details at her Coffee Loving Blog Post here!

Here's how I was inspired:

Isn't that cactus adorable??  He's one of the Cactus coffee digis in the shop and he is Happy Cactus In A Cup!  Of course he's happy!  He's greeting people at the Coffee Shop!

I created a very lightly stenciled background... it's not really about the background... but those stencils from MFT are awesome!!  Whether they're the star of the show or just a light backdrop!

I love cacti SO much!  They are so friendly even though they're a little prickly... don't try to hug them... it won't end well.. in case you didn't know!  I'm trying to teach that to my grand dog that has come to live with us for a little while.  He grew up in the mountains of Montana in winter so he's not used to them!

Isn't this this die from MFT great??  It's the Boutique Dynamics and you can make any kind of shop from it... but of course I made a coffee shop...lol!

My first thought for my sentiment for this one was one of the Newtons Nook cactus cup sentiments... you know.. prickly and all that... but then I ran across this Got Coffee die from Kat Scrappiness and it made me giggle as the name of this Cafe' because back in Buffalo we have Spot Coffee... lol!  Anyway, I like to make myself giggle.  AND I love this Got Coffee die!  I decided instead of trying to create a scene inside the Cafe, I'd create a shaker which was quite easy to do with this set... the window cuts out automatically when you cut out the building... love it!  And the sequin mix is from Craftin Desert Divas.  It had the perfect colors in it!

And that my friend, is it for me.  Don't worry... I know you are... I'm sure I'll be back soon with more coffee...lol!

Thank you so much to everyone who has been stopping by and leaving me some love.  Don't forget about my giveaway!  You can find out about it in my Honey Bee post here!

Come back soon and enjoy the rest of the hop!!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day 6!

Welcome to Day 5 of the 2018 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  If you're not familiar with this hop then please do check out the main Hop Post here when you are done visiting me and I hope you'll play along!  today I'm playing with a freebie from Jessica Lynn Original!  Jessica has provided a free digi for as long as I've been participating in these hops... and this one is adorable (as are all of them...lol).  You can check out her blog post here for info on how to download it and use it to play along!  Here's what I've made:

I decided early on I wanted to create this style of card with a window in the front and part of the Brentwood image peeking out.  I used the Crazy Stitched Frame Die from CDD to cut my first layer and attached it directly to the card base.  Then I lined up the medium Inside Scalloped Octagon Die where I wanted it to be and secured it to the paper with some washi so it wouldn't move... centering it between the two sides and a little higher vertically.  I cut out the window and set aside the frame that was created.

Then I made sure my image would line up where I wanted it before I cut that out with the largest Octagon in the set.  I added back the outside frame by applying glue over the outside edge of the die on the inside of the front so that the glue was over the outer edge of the octagon and also on the card base.  Then I cut a square slightly bigger than the octagon and cut another window out of it so that I could glue the square down around the scallop window and cover the tape that I used to hold the window in.  And then glued the frame that was cut from that white square onto the backside of the frame I had attached in the front (with the plaid).

Once I had that all figured out, I added that Sun die that from CC Designs (it's one of my favorite suns and it's no longer available) and we'll talk about those awesome lemons in just a bit!

Then I colored my image with my Copics and layered everything on the inside of the card.  I colored his hat first so that I could texture it with some burlap and some blending solution.  I textured the hammock simply by swiping one way and then creating lines in the opposite directions... I didn't take a lot of time with it and did it quickly and I love the way it came out.  The sky and water I created with flicks of various colors.  This was really fun to color up!

When it came time to add a sentiment right away I thought of this adorable sentiment from the new Paper Sweeties Hey Y'all sentiment set. And then I remembered that with one of my awesome cup die sets from Our Daily Bread Designs, Beverage Cup Dies (you need to check these out) I thought I'd seen a lemon/citrus die... it was perfect!!  And I sprinkled around a few of the CDD Shimmer Sequins (one of my favorites)

I'm playing along with the Double Trouble Challenge to use two or more patterned papers and because I"m also entering the coffee hop I get too chances to win over there!

Thanks for stopping!  I'll be back later with a second project for today!

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made with the new stamp set, Celine's Kittens from Jessica Lynn Original:

I think this sweet kitty is my favorite from the Celine's Kittens stamp set!  You may be surprised to know that when I started this card, I was planning a masculine card... my brother as a gray cat and thought maybe I'd make him a card.. well... as you can say things took a turn...

I did stick with the gray cat however... and gave her some green eyes... and these eyes are perfect for adding a little liquid glass..

I made this while Face Timing with my besties back in NY and they decided I should use this eyelash ribbon... the thought originally was to roll it into a sort of ball of yarn, but that wasn't right... so instead I opted for the "feel" of it by using it as ribbon and tying a bow.  I added that cute little paw diecut from Elizabeth Crafts and a few flowers and sequins... this is about the time I knew there was no turning back!

And the shaker... I die cut the Smile die from MFT onto my top paper layer.  Then I added the acetate onto the back.  I placed foam tape closely around the word Smile to keep my sequins in and then covered the rest of the back with foam tape.  This needed a little extra support because the top layer was not cardstock, but thinner design paper.  So the foam tape gave some structure.  Then before I attached my top piece to the bottom cardstock layer (which also has a cool aztec background die on it from Taylored Expressions-hence the texture), I added my sequins ... I kind of eyeball where the sequins will reside and lump them close together so that I have room to add the top layer and not have sequins get stuck under the foam tape.  Once it's adhered securely I shake it around to move them around.  The tricky part is figuring out how many sequins to add.. I don't have any tips to share with you here...lol!  Sometimes it's more important than others... for instance if your shaker window has a stamped image in it...you don't want it to be covered up by the sequins laying at the bottom.  So I say too little is better than too much.  On a card like this, it really doesn't matter even if it was so full it didn't shake... it would still look cool!

Anywho!  You have ONE more day to play along with the Love Your Pets Blog Hop!  Donations to a good cause and prizes!  Why wouldn't you?

See you again soon!

Today I'm using Flynne's Puppies along with a couple other stamps from JessicaLynnOriginal!

OMG... I love pugs and I know who this is for already!

Sweet, right??

I mean... if a pug was going to a birthday party... she'd probably figure that the birthday girl would love what she loves, right?  She filled this present with all of her favorites!

And this sweet sentiment, right?  I love it!

Thanks for stopping again!  Here's your sweetness for today:

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made with the new stamp set, Celine's Kittens from Jessica Lynn Original:

For today's project I had a lot of fun with this stamp set!  I stamped the kitties in a bag twice... I colored in one whole image and then just the larger cat from the second.

Then I took out my Box Dies from CDD and cut two from Kraft paper.  It took me a while to decide how to place all of these but once I got it right, I was so excited because I LOVE it!

I haven't had a cat in a long while, but I know what cat's like...lol!

And I decided to make it a Birthday Card using this cute sentiment from the set.  I also stamped, colored and cut out three of the single roses from the Flynne's Puppies stamp set.  These two sets work so nicely together... you may as well get both!

Thanks for stopping again!  Oh... and don't leave without today's photo of my furbabies!

Love Your Pet Blog Hop With Jessica Lynn Original!

Hope you're having fun and playing along!  Jessica will be donating to the Lucky Mutts Rescue for each card linked up AND there are prizes for playing along!  You can check out all of the details and link up to the hop at the main post at the JessicaLynnOriginal Blog here!

Today I'm using Flynne's Puppies along with a couple other stamps from JessicaLynnOriginal!

I started out by opening up a blank Word document and pulling in the sentiment JPG "All I Wanna Do IS Drink Coffee, Make Stuff, and Pet My Dog".  This was a limited edition digital stamp that Jessica released during one of the coffee hops.  I then started copying and pasting and placing the sentiments in a pattern to serve as a background.  Once I was done, I printed it on my laser printer; die cut using a Waffle Flower die and ran it through the Minc with some Gold Sequin Foil from Gina K.  I'm letting my background serve as my sentiment for now, however when I decide to give it away, I could add any kind of a sentiment on the inside.

I love this sweet lab that's in the Flynne's Puppies set!  I wanted him to be a Chocolate lab ... because...well... they are so pretty!  I added some flowers including that pretty crocheted flower that I made some time ago.  I'm entering this into the Twisted Thursday for this week with a twist of Handmade Flowers!

I stamped the To Go Cup from the A Latte Love stamp set a few times on various papers and paper pieced my cup.  Then I was trying to decide how to decorate it... well... how else would I?

One more peek at the sparkle!

Now... me babies:

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made with the new stamp set, Celine's Kittens from Jessica Lynn Original:

I was thinking about this sentiment from the Flynne's Puppies stamp set and had this idea using one of the cats.  This sweet cat especially must be an angel!

I colored her with some warm gray Copics mostly and used a couple greens for her eyes.  I actually didn't put liquid glass on those eyes, but they just appear to shine don't they?

I think this card could be used for a sympathy card for someone who has lost their furry loved one, but I think it could also just be a nice card for a friend who loves cats and really this sentiment could be sent to a friend just as a sweet hello card...

And before I go, I'd like to share a couple pics of my fur babies!

Love Your Pet Blog Hop With JessicaLynnOriginal!

Welcome to the JessicaLynnOriginal Love your Pets Blog Hop!  Jessica is hosting a linky party through April 29th and for every project linked up, she will be donating .50 to the Lucky Mutts Rescue if the project includes one of the pet stamps from JessicaLynnOriginal.com and .20 to the cause if you use any other company's pet stamps!  You can find all of the details at the main linky post here (including a coupon code of a special offer if you order and a limited edition Digi that you can buy and use to play along if you want!).  Oh... and did I mention prizes?

I'm gonna start by sharing the furry babies that I love so much!

Meet Slim:

And Jack!

So... on to the hop! Today I'm featuring one of Jessica's new pet sets ... Flynne's Puppies!  And here's what I've created for you today:

I made this precious little girl a Corgi.  I just love her sweet crown of roses!  And there is a solo rose stamp on the set too.  I used that and a paw print from another one of Jessica's sets that I'll be featuring tomorrow to create an embossed background.  Then I used some spun sugar and picked raspberry distress inks to ink blend over the embossed images.  Then I used a paint brush with water to remove the ink from the embossed images and lifted the water and ink using a paper towel.  (The Oxide Lift technique that I learned of in a Gina K video).  This time instead of using Prisma colored pencils to color in the roses, I used my Zig Clean Color markers and some water to color them in wtih just a bit of pink.  When all was dry, I splattered some water onto the background and again soaked up the extra with a paper towel to create my splashes.

I stamped Miss Sweetness with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored her with my Copic markers using some long flicks of various light brown colors and her crown with some pinks.  I added liquid glass to her eyes and nose and cut her out.  I decided instead of adding a frame around her that she'd be just fine all by herself... surrounded by all of the pretty pinks and flowers.

And you may have noticed that I've been partial to the white sentiment on black when I'm working with bright colors...  then just a few flowers and sequins and she's ready to wish someone a Yappy Birthday!

Thanks for stopping!  Please do check out what everyone else has created for today and I'll see you again tomorrow!  Hope you'll play along and link up with us!
