We're celebrating Candy Canes this week so I used this cutie pie Gingerbread Man from Whimsy Stamps and its oversized Candy Cane!  I colored up this image at Jennifer Dove's Bootcamp!

I used a ton of different products from the Therm O Web shop for  a lot of sparkle and shine!

More From Bootcamp with Jennifer Dove - Kitty N Pumpkin

Sometimes when I look back at these images I colored at Jenn Dove's Bootcamp I just can't believe I did this... this is the Kitty 'n Pumpkin stamp from Whimsy... but we added the entire scene around this cute kitty with our alcohol markers!

I didn’t want to cover up my masterpiece so I added a simple border and one banner for a backdrop to a simple word die sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design.

That’s it!  Short and sweet! Just wanted to share this before Halloween came and went.

Thank you for stopping!  Come again soon!

Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas - October 2022 Edition

Welcome back!  We're back with a full Crafty Elves post and now we have a new Crafty Elf joining us!  So after you leave here, be sure to head on over to Debra's, Michael's and Misty's places to see what they've created for you!

Here's how I was inspired:

I wasn't sure if I'd have time for all four cards this month, but then I remembered I had some images already colored up from Jenn Dove's Bootcamp and pulled out this adorable Penguin Flies image from Whimsy!  I also used a gel print made with the Swirls Stencil and die cut the image using the Nested Scallop with Half Holes dies from Rubbernecker Stamps and added a sentiment and strip from MFT Stamps.

I promise you that without the help and direction of Jennifer Dove I would not have been able to pull off this coloring!  I know I could if I practiced some of these techniques more.  So that's my goal for the upcoming year... but this one has all props going to Jennifer's expert instruction.  If you ever have a chance to attend one of these Boot Camps, I highly recommend.

Then I came across these images also from Whimsy from the Fa La La Llama digital stamp set!  We were given some practice sheets and this little guy was on some of them... so I colored him up myself in between other coloring as well as the last two.  For this one I'm playing along over at Double Trouble Challenge Blog... there's a sketch challenge:

Be sure if you play along, you use this sketch!  There was a different sketch through the 23rd and this sketch goes through Sunday October 30th!  If you use this sketch you can link up over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and if you make it a Halloween or Fall theme you'll have an extra chance to win at Double Trouble.  Hope you'll give it a go!

For this one I used a gel print background I created with the Frosty Flakes Stencil from Miss Ink Stamps, the Sentiment Strips from A Jillian Vance Design, that Inside Scallop Circle from Stamps of Life, snowflakes dies from Lawn Fawn and the poinsettias and foliage also from some AJVD dies.

This one I decided to use a red and green theme, but it's not your grandma's red and green!

Another gel print blues and green and gold and a touch of red!  Perfect for this guy.  I used that awesome inside scallop from Stamps of Life again and the trees and snow layer are from Rubbernecker; the snowflakes are from Lawn Fawn and Paper Smooches, and the Merry die is from Trinity Stamps.

And this one I used a couple different gel prints and I ran them through my Minc with some Deco Foil... it's so hard to see all of the beautiful shine in these pic so I'll be posting a reel over on Instagram to show it off better.  The Joy word die is from Rubbernecker along with those trees again.  Snowflakes are from Paper Smooches and that cool circle frame I picked up from Reverse Confetti before they closed up shop.

I love that I had gel prints on hand in colors that coordinated with these cutie pies!

With this one I'm playing along over at the BYSH Cardmakers Falling For The Holidays Hop!  It runs through October 28th!  Create a Christmas Card and play along!  Lots of sponsors and prizes and Therm O Web is a sponsor!  You should definitely check this one out!

Crafty Elves Light - February 2022

The Crafty Elves are on break this month!  We've all got reasons why time has just gotten away from us.  I'm just stopping in to let you know and share one Christmas card.

Cute, right??  I love this cutie pie Rudolph from Whimsy Stamps (it comes in rubber and digital too!) and I had the image partially colored from Copic Bootcamp so I put a quick card together and used a sentiment from AJVD.  I had gotten some panels cut from that pretty plaid paper from Memory Box knowing I wanted to use these colors for my cards this month so I colored the remainder of the image to match.  Next month I'll have more cards using this paper!

Thanks so much for stopping and be sure to come back again next month on the 25th to see what we've got for you!  And we're still playing!  So let's see who won some Happy Mail from last month's post:

Judy!  Send me your snail mail at Bzscrapper66 at gmail dot com and I'll get some Happy Mail out to you!

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by and left some love last month!  Leave me some this month and you could win some Happy Mail too!

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas- February 2021 Edition!

Happy February Holidays!  We're back again with some more Christmas Card inspiration!  Debra and Michael and I are sharing the Christmas cards we've made this month.  Without any further ado

I had lots of fun with these cuties!  I chose a couple stamp sets that I bought over at Topflight Stamps... one a Christmas doggy set and the little dog isn't from that set, but a similar one and it worked just as well!

Here's a closer look:

OMG... what's even better than a pup stamp??  A pup stamp with an owl.  For this background, I die cut some snowflakes from Paper Smooches from cardstock adhered to double sided adhesive sheets from Elizabeth Crafts.  I peeled off the backing and placed the snowflakes onto some white cardstock sized a bit larger than my frame in a random pattern and then blended some Distress Oxides in blues over them.

I did a slight ink lift using a paintbrush and water and a paper towel so the snowflakes would show up better.  Basically you add water to the area you want to lift the ink from and while it's wet soak up the extra along with a bit of ink using a paper towel.  Then I layered all of my background pieces and popped that cool Deckled frame from Rubbernecker over it.  I popped up my image and that cute sentiment (that one is from a Christmas pup set from MFT that is retired.)  A few sequins and done!

For this one I used a cool background stamp designed by Brutus Monroe and available in the Unity Stamp Shop.  I heat embossed it in white over blue cardstock.

Easy peasy!  Then I added another one of those cute sentiments from the old MFT set (because I thought it was perfect since this cutie pie is decked out in ornaments!

I used another Brutus Monroe background stamp with this one-also available over at Unity Stamps.  There are a couple sentiments on the Paper Artsy sets and decided there was the perfect space for this one... I love that wonky font with these dogs... they're perfect!  That frame is from Paper Smooches and not available but I had to use it because it's one of my faves!

I used two of my favorite Copic color combos one all of these... the pink is R81, R83, and R85 and the blues are BG000, BG10, BG13.

I played with some alcohol inks for this one!  I've been playing alot with EVO Synthetic paper and it's perfect for all of my alcohol ink projects.  For this one.. similar to my first... I cut the snowflakes from EVO paper backed with double sided adhesive and adhered them to a panel of EVO paper.  Then I used a combo of Ranger Alcohol Inks and Copic refills along with blending solution.  Then I took a cue from a post over on IG at ETCPaper's account and added a little glitter while it was wet.

After the ink dried a bit, I used a paintbrush filled with alcohol and used it to push the ink on the snowflakes and some of the glitter away a bit... again, so that the snowflakes would stand out more and not get lost in all of the ink and glitter.  Another technique I'll be playing some more with!

This little cutie was the one that was from the other Paper Arty set that isn't Christmas themed, but I thought she deserved to be on a Christmas card... especially with her present she got!  I used another sentiment from the MFT set because I thought it was perfect for this little girl.  That frame is from Whimsy and I love it too!

That's me for today!  No don't for get to head on over to Debra and Michael's places and see what they have for you today!  But before you go..... let's pick a winner!

Krafty Chicks Challenge #460 - Washi Tape!

Guesting in June with the Krafty Chicks Challenge!  This week the challenge is Washi Tape!  You know you've got that box or drawer full of Washi that you hardly ever use!  I use mine mostly for decorating envelopes, so I was excited to have a chance to really Washi it up!  I started by covering a 5.5 x 4.25 piece of white cardstock with various tapes in a rainbow of colors and then used the Nested Rectangle Small Stitch dies to create my rainbow layer... I used the largest size to create my first layer and the next smaller size for the Washi layer.

I knew I wanted to use this cutie pie from Funky Fossil Design's Chubby Unicorns stamp set... LOVE her!  I colored up all of the unicorns from this set while I was on vacation and decided she was perfect for this card... I nested her on the clouds and sun from the Whimsy Stamps Up In The Clouds Die Set.

And I built my sentiment using a Penny Black die with the Amazing from Technique Tuesday.  I got both of these on clearance so I'm not sure if they're available any more, but I sure am glad I picked them up... I kinda wish I had a typewriter so I could add "Even When You're Sleeping"...lol!

I finished it off with some sequins from one of the most awesome accessory packs I've seen in a while...the Unicorn Party-Pinata Loot Bag Embellishment Assortment... this is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg, but I loved the mix of sequins in the included sequin pack and used some of them here... 'cause it's a unicorn party!

Hope you'll join us over at the Krafty Chicks Challenge and I can't wait to see what you do with your Washi!

From A Simple Spark-Polka Dot Orchard

If you know me, you know one of my very favorite things about digital images is that you can foil them!  As soon as I saw the star background from the Polka Dot Orchard America My Hero set I knew I had to foil it!  I printed it on my laser, die cut it using the Rubbernecker Nested Deckle Rectangle Dies, foiled it with my Minc and some Gina K Silver Sequins Foil, ink distressed it and splattered it with some glittered watercolors... yum!

And the sentiments on this set... so many awesome ones... I printed a few leaving room on the sheet for die cutting.  I decided I didn't want to cover too much of my background up so I chose a smaller one and cut it using this MFT Label Die that I purchased on vacation at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff... one of my favorite places when I am in the area!  I foiled that one with some Radiant Red Foil from Gina K and popped it up so I could tuck some of these awesome stars I cut in silver, red, blue and white underneath using the Whimsy Stamps Upon A Star Die that I got at another one of my fave places, The Paper Collage in Peoria, AZ.

I just love the contrast of the bright shiny foil and the distressed ink blended background...

Hope you'll take a look at this America My Hero set from PDO...it's on sale through sometime this evening along with a whole bunch of other digital sets in the shop! It's fantastic for some beautiful Patriotic creations or even just for an inspirational card or thank you for anyone!  I'll be sharing another card with this set this month that's a little different...come back soon!

I'm playing along over at DL Art June Linky Challenge... it's Anything Goes!  You should check it out!
