Adventure Awaits - Pinkfresh Studio and Double Trouble

So glad you're back!  I'm sharing with you today another vacation project that I created for the Double Trouble 1,2,3 Challenge that is going on now and they are teaming up with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, so I've used this week's sketch for an additional chance to win the prize over at Double Trouble!

I started with some awesome papers from Lil' Inker Designs.  My bottom layer was cut with the gorgeous Lacy Layers 2 die from Waffle Flower Stamps and the image is from PinkFresh Studio's Enjoy The Journey stamp set... LOVE!  So sweet!

For Double Trouble, the challenge is:

The ingredients are:
Three (3) Colors
Two (2) Word Sentiment (Happy Birthday, Thank You, etc.)
One (1) Stamped or Digital Image (Flowers, Critter, Hearts, etc.)

The main three colors I've used that are not neutrals are the blue, pink and yellow.  My two word sentiment...lol!  (I originally used the Enjoy The Journey sentiment from this set and when I realized what I did I stamped it over... but I do think my friend Kathy will use the other one so it's all good!) and one image... which is really two images from the set but since they're connected here, I believe that makes one!

I stamped my image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I added some butterflies and am also entering this one into this week's Outlawz Twisted Thursday which is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist.  This week's twist is Wings or Scales... and I chose wings!  I'm loving these Stitched Fluttering Butterflies dies from Poppy Stamps that I found while on vacation at our favorite place to visit when we're in Buffalo, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff!  I added a few Nuvo drops and my favorite Shimmer Sequins from Craftin Desert Divas!

And here's the sketch!

Thanks for stopping!  You should definitely check out all of these challenges I'm joining today!  And at Double Trouble, if you play along with both their challenge and Atlantic Hearts for this week, you'll receive two chances to win their prize!

Come back soon!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #248

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  Today I'm playing along with a few other challenges as well!  My Coffee Lovin' Cohort Laurel Seabrook hosts a challenge that I found last week called Inspired By and the Inspiration Photo is below.  I was inspired by the black and white and gold and the patterns and my mind went to this paper from the jack paper pack.  I was also inspired by the beautiful Vintage Roses stamps from Altenew that she used in her project.  I got that set so long ago and have been afraid to use it because of the layering.  So this weekend I pulled it out and was surprised at how easily these came together and I didn't even end up crying like I have with some layered sets...lol!

So I checked out the Altenew challenge blog and chose my colors from the Sketch Challenge which allows you to be inspired by the Sketch, the colors, the composition, or the elements or all of the above!  I chose the colors since I already had the Atlantic Hearts sketch to use... and they were perfect!  AND I checked out the Tic Tac Toe Challenge over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday and found a row I could definitely work with.  The board is below and I chose the diagonal Flower, Embossing, and Butterfly which was also just right for this card!  That pretty butterfly diecut is from Memory Box and the gold foil paper was just the ticket.

And I've also had this awesome sentiment set from Altenew in these fun fonts, Painted Inspiration forever!  I bought it at a stamp show back in NY at the Right At Home booth... embossed in gold...

So thanks for stopping by!  Hope you will play along over at Atlantic Hearts this week!  And you may want to pair it up with some of these other challenges as well!

Here's this week's sketch!

And this is the color pallet that inspired me:

With a little bit of pretty black and white geometric pattern and a touch of gold:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #246

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  Today, I'm playing along using some Paper Smooches stamps and dies...

When I saw the vertical lines on this sketch I almost immediately thought of this background die I got from Paper Smooches in the clearance section!  Although this particular item is no longer available, there are lots of other cool stamps and dies there at great prices!  I'm so happy I snagged this one while I could and love it so much!  I die cut the panel and turned it sideways and cut it to fit the width of the card to mimic the layout of the sketch.  Then I placed a piece of Seaglass glitter paper that I cut just a smidge bigger than the diecut layer to leave a border.

I'm playing along with the Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge for January and also with the Winter Blues Challenge over at Heart to Heart Challenges!  You should check both of these challenges out!

For the sentiment area, I cut a piece of vellum about 1 1/2" across and longer than my area I needed to cover.  Then I got out my Warm Hearts stamp set (one of my faves) and stamped the sentiment to the right of the piece in Versamark and heat embossed it using some white embossing powder.  Then I layed the vellum piece at an angle on my card and realized the sentiment wasn't showing up as much as I'd like it to.. so I took some Juniper cardstock and cut it just a bit bigger than the sentiment and placed it behind the vellum and centered the sentiment over it... then I adhered the whole vellum piece across the card and trimmed off the edges.  My cluster includes that adorable snowman and cardinal from the Warm Hearts set along with the beautiful snowflake from the Snowflakes Dies and a few of one of my favorite sequins, the Shimmer Sequins from Craftin Desert Divas.

And of course I wanted to use the cute little coffee cup and heart from the Warm Hearts set, so I found the perfect sentiment on the Verve Stamps Fill My Cup stamp set.  It was perfect when I masked off the bottom part and stamped "And Coffee" on the front... and then on the inside:

I masked off the top part and stamped the rest of the sentiment...lol!  It makes me giggle... yup... love will keep us warm... but you know... it might take a bit of coffee too..lol!  So, hope you'll come and play along with us over at Atlantic Hearts!  I can't wait to see what you do with the sketch!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #244

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  This week, I made a fairly simple card by my standards!  I used some pretty papers from Your Next Stamp... love that gingham that is part of the Winter Plaid paper pad.

These cute sketchy ornaments were created by one of the Outlawz DT members, Sandra VanBlaricum.  I decided to use some non traditional Christmas colors on this one and kept my color pallet to white, pink and blue.  I colored the ornaments using my Copic markers and highlighted with some sparkly gel pens and liquid glass.  That pretty doily is from Gina Marie Designs... one of my favorite doily sets.  I also took the opportunity to use up some very old CTMH bling I've had forever!  Broke the old odd number rule because... well.. it's all I had left!  I suppose if I hadn't lost the dot for my J in my sentiment and used one of the gems for that it would have been ok...lol!  But it's all right... it doesn't bother me too much!

I'm linking up to the Outlawz Progressive/Freebie December Challenge!  Very cool... you get a free image to play with each month and as long as you keep creating and linking up with them, you keep getting new ones!  You should check it out!  It's a Ning site so you have to join, but it's lots of fun!

And I thought the font on this pretty diecut sentiment that I cut using a Paper Smooches die and some glitter paper was perfect for these ornaments.  I am surprisingly happy with my simple, pretty little card...suppose I better get it out in the mail with the rest of my late cards...lol!  Come back on the 1st for some Paper Sweeties!  And don't forget to come on over to Atlantic Hearts and play along!  How will you be inspired by the sketch?

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge-Coffee Lovers Hop Day 4

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #242 and Yup!  It's already Day 4 of the Winter 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  Here's what I made for today:

I used the sketch to create a couple fun tags.  I know I'm not alone when I say that I have stuff in my craft room I haven't even touched since I bought it so today was the day I cracked some of that open.

One being these awesome plaid MFT papers that I bought LAST YEAR!  They are so pretty though aren't they?  I used the Stamplorations tag dies which are among my favorites!

I didn't have a whole lot of wintery washi that matched so for the strips I used a Doodlebug Christmas pad that I've had and used quite a bit of and the colors were perfect with the MFT papers!  Got lucky there!  I got this Cup stamp and die from Impression Obsession fairly recently when they had a sale, and that adorable deer is from a CDD stamp set that I've had for quite a while and not used... but it was perfect along with this sentiment from the Doodlebugs paper pad.  And of course I scattered around some of my other favorite sequins from CDD.

For this one I used some Doodlebugs Coffee stickers and puffy stickers that I've also had for quite a while and not used yet.  Aren't they adorable!?

Here's the sketch!  I can't wait to see what you do with it!

And why not do what I did and pair it up with this:

I flipped the sketch and swapped out some shapes... gear and compass for flowers and diamond shape for the oval.

Thanks for going on this ride with me and my mini album and hanging in there with me!  It was a lot of fun and made putting this album together pretty easy since the layouts were already set for me!

Here's the sketch and hope you'll play along with us this week!

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I have another pocket layout today!  This was a fun sketch... love the stripey background and I used gears instead of hearts and an arrow instead of a bow... well... you know why!

Can't wait to see what you create!
