Hello Lovely-Createful Hearts Guest Designer!

So happy you are visiting me today!  I'm excited because I won a challenge over at Createful Hearts earlier this month and was asked to be a guest designer for the challenge that starts today!  I also won four digis and this adorable Northern Saw-Whet Owl is one of them!  It's so cute!

Isn't this little guy adorable!?  I colored him with my Copics.  These little owls come in all kinds of colors... I chose to color mine in browns and grays.

That pretty white crinkly seam binding is from D.L. Art and it's called Whipped Cream.  Diana has such pretty ribbons in all kinds of colors on her site... although for this one I chose white.

I had this idea as soon as I saw this owl... I wanted most of the card to be in whites.  A little kraft on the background and the sentiment.  Love the way it looks...

I embossed the white background using a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  My leaves are quite a mix of brands... the furthest back is a Tim Holtz diecut, the big loopy leaves are from Paper Smooches and the lacy Maple Leaf is from Frantic Stampers.

The dies for the sentiment are from Peachy Cheap... love the font!

And on the bottom, more leaves, that beautiful ribbon and the pretty white heart with sequins.  The clear sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh and I LOVE them!

So there it is... my Clean & Simple/Not So Simple card...lol!  Thanks for stopping and do be sure to check out the Createful Hearts digi shop!   And link up to this Anything Goes Challenge!  You don't have to use one of Mary's Digis if you don't have one... and you might win some!

Outlawz Progressive Challenge With Createful Hearts

So busy in my craftroom for the next week!  I have company coming and my youngest is coming to stay with us for a while as his seasonal job is just about over!  So many things I want to get done before I'm banned from my room for a couple weeks!

I created this for the October Progressive Challenge over at the Outlawz and for this week's Twisted Thursday Challenge with a Twist of Charmed!  I'm also playing along with the Createful Hearts Challenge of Anything Goes since the sponsor for this month's Progressive Challenge is Createful Hearts and this General Store digi is one of her creations!  (Outlawz is a Ning site and you have to join to play along, but it is so worth it and you should give it a try!  The first time I linked up I needed a little help, but now it's easy peasy and such a wonderful group of people over there!  AND (I think this is a record) I'm also playing along with the Victorine Originals Mood Board Challenge #12 (pic at the end of the post-lovely lovely mood board)!

For my Layers, I used the Craftin Desert Divas Crazy Stitched Frame die... one of my favorites and I finally got a chance to use my Tim Holtz Tree Line Thinlets die.  The front landscape dies are from CDD (the hilly middle layer) and Lawn Fawn (the grassy layer).  I have a few grass dies, and I chose this one today because it was the shortest blades and worked best here.  To cut the landscape layers, I used the frame die to cut the green first and then cut my layers from that so that my stitching would go all around the entire piece.

And this digi.. pretty right??  Love the pup sleeping on the porch... so sweet!  I used my brand spankin' new Prisma Colored Pencils that my friend Jean Chaney made me buy so this whole thing was an experiment and the first time I used them... I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out and plan on taking some classes to really get to know them!

I thought this simple saying was the perfect sentiment... tiny ... from a Tim Holtz word stickers packet.. and I chose the sunflower charm because it seemed to go with the whole outdoorsy, pumpkin time of year feel.  Tried to keep the embellishments simple since this digi really tells the story on its own.

That's it!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out my first Design Team post over at the Coffee Lovers Blog!  I'm playing along with a challenge there too!

Come back soon!  Paper Sweeties Release starts on the 13th with the Plan Your Life Series.. I'm planning a little Halloween fun!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #221

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  This week I'm sharing a card I made using an image from Createful Heart Digis & Design, some Doodlebug papers, and some CDD and Heartfelt Creations dies.

This Dragonfly Hi image is available for free if you play along with the challenge that runs until July 21st!  Join the group on facebook and play along!  He's a cutie!  I colored him in with Copics and then added some dots on his wings with some glitter gel pens and when those were dry added some Wink of Stella... of course as usual, the shine doesn't show up very well in my photo, but it really sparkles in person.

I added a few paper flowers from my stash.. believe I got these at Hobby Lobby when they had a sale... the little white ones are my favorite.. in fact I emptied my package today so I'll need to watch for the next sale.

Instead of banners under my strip of glitter tape I cut some of the Heartfelt Creations leaves out of green vellum.. LOVE the way they turned out...

These leaves from Heartfelt Creations are among my favorite... I use them altogether like this in a bunch or they are also great to cut apart and just use a few when you add flowers to a piece... and isn't that pretty inside scalloped frame from CDD beautiful... I added some vellum to the inside to help Mr. Dragonfly stand out a bit...

And instead of spending half an hour trying to pick a sentiment, I used one of the sentiments from the Doodlebug papers I was using.. and those pretty clear flower sequins are from Kat Scrappiness... I love clear sequins and love that these are flower shaped.

So there you are!  Hope you'll play along with Atlantic Hearts this week!  It's another great sketch from Michelle!
