Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #219

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  This was a great sketch to use some more of my No Worries paper pack.... I loved using all of my scraps to cut a bunch of stitched banners for the main background design.

I'm also playing along with the No Worries Challenge for July at Heart2HeartChallenges!  You should check it out!

I used some dies from C.C. Designs that I got on clearance for stamping my sentiment and the vellum label.  Love these!  And that great Margarita glass is from Two Paper Divas... they aren't around any more, however you can still find some of their stamp sets around if you search online...

And I hardly ever just put my sentiment on the base, but I felt like I had enough banners...lol!  So I thought this was a good time for that!  I carried the green from the Margarita glass around the design by adding a few green sequins..

That's it for me today!  Hope you enjoyed this quick card... LOVE this sketch!  Hope you join us over at Atlantic Hearts this week!

And check this out!  You can click here to find out about my giveaway this month!

Coffee Hop Day 7 - A Latte Birthday Wishes

For Day 7 I'm sharing a card using the awesome CTMH No Worries paper pack.  I made a birthday card for my son.  His birthday is on the third so this morning I'm packaging up some coffee, a Starbucks Arizona mug (he's on Fishers Island in NY until October working) and some yummy snacks.  Of course then I'll send him some money, but I like him to have something tangible and we both love coffee.

I love this coffee cup stamp from Precious Remembrance.  It's a great size and it's a cool image, but blank so I can do whatever I want with it... like stamp it onto this awesome beachy paper so I can paperpiece my cup.

I also used some of my coffee painted paper for the smaller circle (double stitched from MFT) and my banner (from CDD).

I used quite a few items from the No Worries matching Complements like this kraft heart, the arrow and the striped piece and kraft piece I stamped my sentiment on below.

Don't forget there is one more day to participate in the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge to create something using the No Worries papers or the colors/inspiration from the photo of the paper pack.  You can find that here!  And I'm playing along with the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge to use the colors in No Worries and you can play along with both too!  Come and play with us!

I am so loving using coffee on my projects.... It makes such beautiful colors!

Thanks for stopping again!  One more day of the hop to go... I do have at least one card for you tomorrow... possibly two, but we'll see what tomorrow brings.  I'm seriously contemplating taking Coffee Hop week off for the next one...lol!  No joke!

Have a great day!  Stay caffeinated my friend!

MFT Camp Create Spectacular Shakers-Life Is Better

Welcome to My Day 3 at MFT Camp Create 2017!  This day is about Spectacular Shakers... and here's what I created:

So this month for the Three Amigos Challenge, the focus is the No Worries paper pack from CTMH (or just the colors/inspiration if you don't have the paper) so I thought I'd use the paper pack and complements for my project.  I also used the awesome Stitched Circle Frames from My Favorite Things for my shaker... I LOVE these frames for shaker cards... the frame is wide enough to add some popup tape with no issues and it's easy... and I love the stitches on this one...

I love all of the patterns and colors in this paper pack and the complements are fun too.. that arrow, the heart and my circle sentiment inside my shaker are all from the Complements pack.  And those pretty sequins are from CDD called Emerald Isle... they were the perfect colors for this one..

The palm trees and leaves are also from the pack of Complements and with a little twine and that pretty flower from my stash... I was done... quick, no stamping, and fun!

This is one of the easiest shaker styles I make... I use the circle frames to cut out my frame... then I used an MFT circle die that was just a little bigger than my shaker window to cut both my acetate piece and my bottom layer of the basket weave.  Stuck the sentiment to the basket weave, placed the basket weave on my card leaving enough room for the additional width of the frame.  Glued my acetate circle to the inside of my frame and added foam tape around it.  Before I peel the cover off, I place (dump) my sequins on top of my sentiment... enough so that it won't cover the sentiment, but it still is "enough"... then I place the window over them without permanently sticking it and try to hold it in place and test out my quantity of sequins... do they fall below the picture or sentiment?  Are there enough?  Sometimes I add more, and sometimes I take some out... this time I got it just right!  THEN I lift my frame up, push the sequins back towards the center so they don't get caught under the frame, peel off the protective covering on the foam tape and stick it in place.  Done!

My biggest and most frequent mistake with shakers is I get my foam tape on the frame and then realize I never added the acetate...lol!!  Start over?  Never!  I just then decide to turn it into a faux shaker... I leave the window open and glue some sequins around inside the circle.

So.... I earned this!

You really should check this out and play along.. lots of prizes and you don't HAVE to do all of them, but the prizes get bigger if you do...

I'm also playing along with the Paper Craft Happy Challenge #1-Anything Goes with the option of Summer... you should check it out!

Cheers To You!

Popping in for a quick one today!  Needed a man card for a young man at work that has a birthday tomorrow... the poor guy has to sit in our area and he's one of two young men in a room of 11... and he's a really good sport!  He's one of my favorite people... probably because he reminds me of my kids... his sense of humor and fun.... so of course I had to make him a birthday card!

I'm using the No Worries paper pack (it's our theme over at the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge.. you should check it out.. you don't have to use the actual papers!)  I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at Dragonfly Journeys (sketch is at the end of the post).  I'm also playing along with Heart2Heart Challenges Fiesta Challenge, and Cards 4 Guys Something Blue For Father's Day

I will admit... I don't have a whole lot of stamps suitable for a 20-something young man... or really a whole lot of man stamps...lol!  But I did have this cool set from Two Paper Divas with the Beer Mug on it and I thought it would be perfect... although I did have a hard time deciding between the Margarita and the Beer Mug...lol!  But I landed on this one because I thought it would be fun to color... I made some bubbles on the inside (I've made better bubbles but they were so tiny and an afterthought so not the best... but he won't notice..lol); I also added some white streaks for a reflection and some liquid glass to the foam and sliding down the sweaty glass... I don't think Two Paper Divas is around any longer, however you can still find some of their stamps on Amazon and on the Walmart website...

And I am loving that Cheers die from Paper Smooches... love their word dies and the fonts on their stamps.. I think it really adds to the fun feel!

This sentiment was from the Two Paper Divas set as well... and all dies are from Craftin Desert Divas except for the double stitched circle... I believe that is from MFT.

Hope you enjoyed your stop here today!  I'll be making a few man cards over the next week or so... don't forget to come back and see me!  You can sign up to get email notifications if you want!

See you again soon!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #3 - No Worries!

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge for June 2017!  This month we are challenging you to use the No Worries papers or be inspired by the colors in the paper pack and create something new, link up, and you could win a small prize!
Here is the paper pack:

This is another pack of paper that I agreed to share half with my mom, but ... Mom, I want my other half!!

And here is what I've created for you today:

When I started this card, it was going to be very quick and plain and simple... well... that didn't quite work out... I added a flower... and then another... and then I thought of the cheesecloth we and some of the embellishments we got with one of our kits from Copic class.... and on and on it went!

I have had a Lawn Fawn snow globe die for quite some time and finally opened it up today... the beautiful palm trees were on one of the PML cards in the paper pack and it fit perfectly in my globe.. I filled it with some clear sequins and micro beads...

I had the fabric Petaloo flowers for a while also, and thought they were perfect for a beachy feel... and when I wanted to add something more, I thought of these awesome... leaves... feathers?  Not sure what they are but they are from iamroses.com... you should check them out... the stamens came from them too...

I added some glitter embossing paste to give the feeling of sparkly white sand... perhaps ocean caps.... but mostly because I love it.... and those pretty little shells came from my friend Mitra in a little package jam packed with little pretties... love them tucked into the embossing paste...

There is a paper in the pack that has all kinds of beachy words on it and these ones fit quite perfectly onto my CDD banner diecuts...

So somehow this simple card has turned into a piece for a shadow box... so really it's not finished... I will share with you when I finish the project and I know exactly who it's for....

Now be sure to check out what Donna and Susan created for you!  And hop on over to the blog for more information and to link up to our challenge!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for some CDD goodness!
