Happy Birthday Grrrrlfriend! - Miss Ink Stamps

I'm using some stencils today for a fun mid mod/Lisa Frank kind of card...lol!

I started by adding Distress Oxide Inks in rainbow colors using the Art Deco Stencil.   Then I added the foliage using the Artsy Abstracts stencils and Black Soot ink.  I used Pixie Tape to mask any areas and there are intricate cuts in the stencil so you'll want to use Pixie Spray to hold it in place.

Then I used the Tiger Portrait stencil set for the tiger and fussy cut it out.  I popped the Postage frame up over it and tucked the tiger into the corner of the frame.

Finally I used the Slim's Whims stamp set and Everyday Sentiments.

Thanks for stopping!  Come again soon!

Miss Ink Stamps Fierce Butterfly

Welcome back!  I've got an unexpected butterfly for you today!  I used three layered stamp sets for this one.

I started with the tiger and then masked him off and added the butterfly and then masking both, used the Flower Shower layering set.  I kept them masked and splattered over some paint and added Glitz Glitter Gel to the wings and Nuvo Drops to the flower centers.  I added the antennae separately masking each one so they'd fit because... well... I think they're my favorite part!

I'm in love with this one, and I think you may be seeing a couple more like this soon!

Thanks so much for stopping!  Hope you'll come again soon!

Mid Mod Inspiration - Wild Style

Hello!  Well, I had one more Mid Mod inspired project to share and it didn't quite go the way I thought, but I love it anyway and I hope you do too!

This was my original inspiration and I've been rolling that around in my head for a while.

And then I stumbled on these (and of course now I want a bunch of these).  And finally landed on this:

I used the Tiger stencil and some small detail blending brushes to color the tiger stripes.  The plan was to add the foliage from Artsy Abstracts and leave the rest white, but I got a little sloppy with the black so I masked off everything and added the leaves around the whole thing as well as a little bit of shadow around the Tiger.  Finally a splattering of acrylics forgave everything and I'm in love!

Although this didn't turn out as I had imagined it, I didn't give up on it and I'm so glad I didn't!  Now if you'll excuse me... I may have some shopping to do!

Thank you so much for stopping!  I hope you'll come again soon!

Miss Ink Stamps Stencil Week - Tiger Portrait and Alcohol Ink

Welcome!  It's Stencil Week over at Miss Ink Stamps and we're sharing projects this week using some new stencils in the shop!

For this one I created two alcohol ink backgrounds on EVO Paper and saved one for the background and stenciled the large leaves from the cool new Artsy Abstracts set... a fabulous four stencil set that includes some cool abstract shapes and patterns.

I stenciled this large leaf onto one of the alcohol inked panels and then cut it out and used it as an embellishment behind that awesome Tiger Portrait.  This one is also a four stencil set and I stenciled that beautiful cat with some Distress Inks and cut it out as well.

Having lots of fun playing with alcohol ink this month!  Did you know it's easy to add a little foil sparkle to your alcohol ink panels!?

Check it out:
