Ink Road and Some Alcohol Lift!

Quick one this morning!!  A couple weeks ago, my friend, the awesomely talented Jean Chaney came to our monthly crafty playtime with an arsenal of Alcohol Ink goodness!  I played quite a bit and this is one of the backgrounds I created that day.  (I have another special make from that day that I'll be sharing soon.. soon!).  When I opened up my recent order from Kat Scrappiness which contained my Alcohol Lift stamp pad (and re-inker of course), I pulled out my Ink Road Bella Flora stamps and dies and then flipped through the backgrounds I made that day, because I knew it would be the perfect pairing!  I chose this purple one because I thought it would look lovely with some florals.

I love the Bella Flora die set!!  It's a huge set that includes outline dies as well as stand alone dies that coordinate with the stamp set!  It's awesome!  It's like getting two or three sets all together!  I decided on this sentiment in gold.  And I set it against the yummy alcohol ink background and even in gold it got a little lost.  So I decided a purple vellum banner was in order and I also picked up on the blue in the background and cut the sentiment from a deep blue cardstock and offset them just a bit from each other.

So the Alcohol Lift works just as it sounds!  You ink up your stamp with the clear solution on the pad and stamp it firmly onto your alcohol inked background.  Lift it and you can barely see the image.  Then you take a soft cloth and blot the area first (very important!) and then buff the area after it's blotted and your image starts to appear.  Don't worry... there are instructions right on the pad!  And be sure to clean off your stamps right away!  The bold lines on the Bella Flora stamps are perfect for this!   I stamped a couple different images in each corner this way.  Love the beautiful, ghostly images that are left!

One more peek!  I'm so excited!!  LOVE all of these things I've used to create a really quick, simple, but I think lovely card!

I'm playing along with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge which is Spectacular Backgrounds this time around!  You should check it out!  And you may or may not know that Ink Road has a monthly challenge on Instagram!  Just post something you've made using their products or even a pic of an order you received for a chance to win... use #inkroadstamps when you post!

Paper Sweeties May 2018 Release Party!

Today is the day you can get the new release over at the Paper Sweeties Shop!  Today I'm sharing a couple projects including a treat box with the new Treat Box Sweet Cuts as well as a coordinating card!

This little treat box is such a cute size!  It comes with the Box Die (You cut two, fold at the scores and glue the two sides together.  I left one side of the top of the box unglued and just tied it close with a ribbon so it can easily be opened without ruining the box!  The heart and cute little words are also from the set and I LOVE that they rest on those thin lines so that you don't have to worry about handling (and losing) the little letters or lining them up!

I measured and cut my layers for the outside and for the sides, I cut an extra box side, cut out the end, measured in 1/8" on each side and cut it down to keep as a template.  I wrote all of my measurements on that template and keep it right with my die so I have it when I need it!

For my card, I used the heart die to cut a window in the wood grain for a shaker.  I doubled up my foam tape so that I'd have room for the beautiful, but dimensional Paper Sweeties sequins.  I created the outline by using the piece of floral wood grain that I'd cut my heart that is on the box (all I had left...lol) and then cut around the outside of that window to create a frame for my shaker.  I love that I was able to add a little of that design paper from the treat box even though I'd already used most of it up.  I used the sweet flowers from the Hello Spring Stamp Set and Sweet Cuts.  I chose yellow because there is a little of that yellow in the papers I used and love the contrast with all of that pink.

I'm playing along with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #CIC446!  All that pink and a little bit of blue too... just a sweet sweet color pallet!

So happy you stopped by today!  Be sure to check out what everyone has created for you today!  And come back tomorrow for the Release Rewind... I'll have a quick photo tutorial for you of how to put this treat box together... it's easy peasy!

Paper Smooches - Let's Giggle!

I am very excited to be guesting on the Paper Smooches Blog in December!  Honored to have a project featured on the blog each Wednesday this month.  Today this is what I've created using the new Wine Dies Wise Dies (that was fun to say!)  and the coordinating stamp set, Wine Sampler.

I had this idea to make one of those cute Santa wineglasses as soon as I saw these dies.  I cut the wine glass from three colors of cardstock... a red, a black and a white.  I used the white as my base.  Then I cut the red one.. a little off the top and a little before the stem.  Then I adhered that piece to the glass and also cut the remaining piece where the stem started and attached that to the stem.  I used the black one just to cut the strip for the belt.  I suppose I could have just put a strip across and trimmed it, but this worked too.  Then I added some white Nuvo drops as my fluff for his suit.  I added some white stripes to the stem using my white gelly roll pen, drew in some buttons with a black pen and added the belt buckle using some metallic paper.  For the wine bottle I cut one out of green vellum and one out of the red.  I trimmed the red on all sides and fit it behind the green for the wine.  Then I added the label that I cut from the Doodlebug paper pad I used for the rest of the card.  And can't forget that cute cork!  I just happened to recently by some thin adhesive backed cork, so it was fun to use it for an actual cork!...lol!

When it came time to add the sentiment, it turned out the scarf pieces from the Snowman Card Dies were perfect!  I added some holly using the Holly Dies and some pretty sparkly red gems.  The sentiment is from the Wine Sampler stamp set.  Cute right!

So be sure to play along with the December challenge over at Paper Smooches!  Winter is your inspiration!

And I'm also playing along with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #435 that runs for a couple more days:

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 383 and Paper Sweeties

So exciting!!  Paper Sweeties is sponsoring the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #383!  You could win a $25 Gift Certificate to the Paper Sweeties Shop!  This is the awesomely cute Inspiration Photo and here is how I was inspired:

So... when you play along with Cupcake Inspirations your design doesn't have to have a cupcake in it... just be inspired by the photo... but I thought it was a great opportunity to create this tag to attach to some yummy treat I give away as a gift for the holidays.

I used the Trim The Tree stamp set on this one for the Christmas tree and presents and the cupcake is from Homemade With Love.  I also used last month's release, Basket Add On Baked With Love for the sentiment and that pretty string of Christmas bulbs.

My Stickles provided the frosting and a little Liquid Glass for the star and bulbs on the tree.

I hope you can play along with Cupcake Inspirations this time around!  How will you be inspired?  And what will you get with your winnings??
