Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas-July 2021 Edition With Angie Blom!

Yay!  It's the 25th of the month and time for the Crafty Elves to share the Christmas cards we've been working on this month!

So excited because this month we have a special guest!  The wonderfully talented Angie Blom is joining our little hop this month!  We're using some of the fabulous images from the Angie Blom Digital Designs Shop!  (Psst!  Big sale going on over there on all Christmas sets!  Check them out here!  And when you visit the post over there for today be sure to wish Angie the most wonderful of birthdays!

Without further ado, here is how I was inspired:

I started with the fabulous Unique Flakes set!  I printed the Snowflake Printout on my laser printer and ran it through my Minc with some beautiful Amethyst Watercolor Deco Foil.

Didn't that turn out gorgeous!  And the cool thing is after you apply foil to a project you're left with a negative sheet where the open spaces are the shapes you just foiled and there's lots of foil left on the in between spaces.

I discovered accidentally, that foil will stick to an acrylic paint background when run through the Minc.   I grabbed a die cut panel that I had previously created with my Gel press and sprayed on some Ranger Distress Resist Spray pretty heavily and let it dry.  Although my experience is that the foil will stick to the gel press background, it isn't necessarily full coverage so I'm not sure if it depends on how many layers are in an area or not and I wanted to be sure I'd have enough coverage.  After it was dry, I was able to lay the negative sheet from my first snowflake background over the top and run it through my Minc... It turned out extra shiny because of the Distress Spray and I'm very happy with it.

For these two with those gorgeous background I just added a nice big sentiment.  I decided on the darker one to add some snowflakes sticking out from underneath to brighten it up a bit.

I love how these both came out!

Next I printed another panel and foiled it in some Glass Slipper Deco Foil.  This has turned out to be one of my very favorite Deco Foils... the colors in it are just SO beautiful!  I used the Merry & Bright Mug for this one.  I printed the sentiment right on the mug and added a snowflake and frame from Paper Smooches for a quick and simple card!

And here are the colors I used for my mug!

I decided to take the opportunity to make a pretty flat card.  Because this image was SO cute and was so much fun to color I felt that it was just right as it is!  This Elves set is adorable and that cute punny sentiment!!  I just printed both together as is and die cut them with a Mini Slimline die from A Jillian Vance Design! I just added a few sequins and that's really all it needed.

With these adorable little elves, I'm playing along with the current challenge over at Double Trouble Challenge Blog, Christmas In July!  And I have a bow on this one so I've met the twist.  Also, they are partnering with Heart2Heart challenges Christmas In July Challenge who is waiving their usual requirement to use CTMH products for this one, so easy to play along with both!

I used ALL of these colors for this one because I had three different skin tones and three different hair colors... so lots of E's.

And finally this one!  I absolutely love this tall, thin Santa perfect for a slimline from the Let's Be Merry digital set.  I was going to make him flat as well, but I decided to fussy cut him and the sentiment after I printed them and used a gel press background.  I added a few dots using the new Snowflake Stencil from CAS-ual Fridays and some Thermoweb Deco Foil Blanco Transfer Gel.  The slimline base was cut using a Slimline Die from Rubbernecker Stamps.

I popped up Santa and for the sentiment, I cut a Snowflake from AJVD from white glitter paper and twice more from white cardstock and stacked them together... adhered it to the top of the Slimline and then popped the fussy cut sentiment over it.

And the few colors I used on this one!

That's me for today!  Now be sure that you hop this very short hop and check out what my fellow Crafty Elves have been up to this month:

Also, there's a fun Christmas In July Hop/Linky Party going on over at BYSH Cardmakers Blog!  With some fabulous sponsors (including the illustrious Angie Blom) and lots of inspiration you should play along too!  And be sure to join the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group over on Facebook for year round Christmas Card inspiration!  I'm linking up Santa for a chance to win!  Hop you play along and good luck!

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas-February 2019 Edition!

Welcome to this month's Crafty Elves post!  My friend Debra Davison (from Meticulosity) and I have promised to make a Christmas card a week for the year so that when the time comes, we'll have this part of our holiday all set!  I might even get my cards mailed out on a timely schedule... maybe... lol!  I especially love that it gives me the opportunity to use some of the many new products I purchased over the holidays that might otherwise be sitting and waiting for next November/December!

And stay tuned because at the end I'll be announcing the winner from the comments on our first Crafty Elves post in January!

So here we go:

So let me just say that as soon as I saw this Happy Holladays stamp set by Darcie's Heart & Home over at Butterfly Reflections Ink I didn't even have to think about throwing it into my cart.  I knew I had to have it!  So many of my favorite things... coffee, that sweet deer, plaid, and that handsome lumberjack hipster santa..

I mean... cuuute right??  It was fun to use that pretty plaid from an old CTMH paper pack along with dies from Paper Smooches, Craftin Desert Divas, Lawn Fawn, and Pretty Pink Posh!  And it was also fun to use some denim material to texturize Santa's jeans.. tee hee.. love him!!

I'm linking this one up over at Double Trouble Challenge... this week there's a tic tac toe board and I'm taking the middle row across... Glitter, An Image, and a Sentiment.  (The board is at the end of this post) That was easy enough!  And I've met the twist which is Magic... I'd say that Santa and Rudolph are pretty magical (not to mention Coffee... it's made from a magical bean that turns me into a human being every morning!).  And since I met the twist, I can also enter into the Use Your Stuff Challenge which is Magic this time around!  They're partnering with Double Trouble and you have about a week to enter both challenges!

Next up:

O M Garsh I LOVE these adorable critters from Elizabeth Craft Designs... they are from the Winter Animals stamp set...so adorable!  I love how they all coordinated their outfits to go ice skating...maybe their mom was planning a scrapbook page and already had the papers picked out.

Once Owl gets done skating he'll have some hot cocoa too... I'm sure of it!  I used some dies from CC Designs (the birch trees which I believe are no longer available), Kat Scrappiness and Craftin Desert Divas (which does have a nice die set with a birch tree here) to create my wintery scene... and lots of glitter paper... lots....

And then this Merry from the Merry Christmas word die from Pretty Pink Posh... I LOVE how it just happened to fit in the scallops perfectly!  This is one of my favorite word dies... you're gonna see it a lot this year!  And I almost forgot to mention that beautiful background snowflake paper from the Blizzard paper pad by Gina K.. LOVE!!

Did I mention I love this stamp set!  Wish I'd remembered that I did purchase the dies before I cut these out by hand...lol!

Oh... and if you are hoping you see this one in your mailbox next December... it's already spoken for.  You know who you are.... lol!

I'm playing along with Festive Fridays over at the Outlawz Challenges on Ning... the themes are Birthday, Get Well, Anniversary/Wedding, Christmas, and Anything Goes, so I'd say with Christmas, I'm good...lol!  I'm also playing along over at Mod Squad Challenges to use a Clear or Rubber Brand Name Stamped Image... I've used Elizabeth Crafts stamps on this one!

The next one is using some digital items from Graciellie Designs... she has the most beautiful digital sets ...

I started this one with a beautiful paper from the Rustic Winter Wishes digital paper set... that plaid... I wasn't sure if I'd foil it or not and decided not... then I thought I'd add some snowflakes with a stencil from Newton's Nook and some Deco foil transfer gel and foil those... so I added the gel and as it was drying I realized that wasn't going to work because the snowflakes would take the foil but so would the paper since i printed it on my laser!  So instead I added some gold embossing powder over the gel and heated it.  It's so much fun to watch it heat because it bubbles and has so much movement!  Crisis averted!

I printed a bunch of images from a few sets from Graciellie including Coffee or Cocoa, Christmas Cheer, and Winter Wishes and colored them with my Copics and added a little detail with my Prismacolor pencils.  I added a little sparkle using Liquid Pixie Dust from Ink On 3... love this stuff!!  I added it to the marshmallows and the poinsettia...just dropped a little into a container... just a tiny bit... and applied it with a paint brush.

I foiled the spoon and the sentiment... love that Gold Sequin foil from Gina K!!

I used one of my fave layering dies from Waffle Flower Stamps on this one!

I printed lots of images from these sets and can't wait to use them!

And last for this month but definitely not least:

I've had these images from Polka Dot Orchard printed and hadn't had a chance to use them yet so I was excited to use them this month!  That sweet bear!  There is something about his snout that reminds me of my dog... lol!  He's from the Winter Bear digital stamp set.

I colored up Winter Bear ... the furry parts first and then used some material from an old wash cloth and some Copic Blending Solution to texturize it.  And I love that the set comes with that adorable background already made up!  I just printed it; die cut it, and ran it through my Minc with some red sparkly foil from Gina K!  And that nose was perfect for some liquid glass... I just wanna boop it!

When I print my sentiments I'm sure to leave room around them so I can use dies to cut them out... and then I foiled this one with some turquoise foil... perfect with the color scheme!  I love that the Gina K Designs foils come in a flat pack so I don't have to deal so much with the curling... it's tricky enough as it is!!

I used dies from Kat Scrappiness, Stamplorations and Craftin Desert Divas on this one.

He's such a cutie!!  Also printed out some more images from Polka Dot Orchard so I'm sure you'll be seeing those in a coming month's post as well.

Hope you enjoyed your visit today!  And now for the winner from the January post!  Thanks so much to everyone for stopping by and leaving me some love!  The winner of some Happy Mail from me is:

Happy National Cocoa Day and welcome to our celebration of Cocoa!  Today the Coffee Loving Cardmakers and Stamps of Life Design Teams are hopping together and featuring the Hot Chocolate 2 Stamps and Hot Chocolate Dies (and maybe a few other wonderful Stamps of Life products)!  Hop along to each stop along the way and leave some love and you will have a chance to win a $25 Gift card to The Stamps of Life Shop!  You have until the 20th to comment and the winner will be announced on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog on the 22nd!  And if you stick with me until the end I'm having a little giveaway here too!

***Edited to add winner info!  The winner of the gift certificate has been announced on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog today, December 22nd at 7am Pacific time and Amy has added her winner to her hop post as well!  The winner here at my place is Donna Mundinger!!  Congrats to Donna!  I'll be messaging her and thanks so much to all who joined us for this hop!***

You should be coming here from the oh so talented Kathy Schweinfurth's Blog!  If you get lost along the way you can always head back to the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog here where you'll find the entire hop list!

And here's how I was inspired:

So... can I just say... this cup die!!  It's a fantastic size and shape and I LOVE that the handle cuts out!  The "inside" of the cup cuts out at the top too, so I can tuck the awesome whipped topping die just inside it... or add some paper to it for cocoa and add some or lots of the marshmallows from the stamp set.  And the whipped cream!  The lines are actually cuts rather than just embossed, so it's easy to slip the spoon die cut (also included in the set) right through it... or a straw... or some marshmallows... or whatever!  I cut mine from white glitter paper and my spoon from some silver foiled paper.  I added a few marshmallows and the steam... we'll talk about that in a minute.

For this next one, I was inspired by our cool desert evenings here in Buckeye, Arizona:

I got these cool Succulent 2 Dies recently at a stamp show in Mesa.  So... it does get really cold here in the southwestern part of Arizona!  In fact, it's not uncommon to see a cactus with a hat on!  I mean .. usually it's not a cute knit beanie like the sticker I added... but instead maybe a styrofoam cup...lol!  But wouldn't beanies be cuter!?  Lately it's been in the 40's in the morning... but don't feel bad for me... it's 70 by the afternoon!

That sentiment, right??  I blended some distress oxides onto the cup and used a stencil to add more of the same color to decorate my cup this time and built my sentiment from the Hot Chocolate 2 Stamp Set and stamped it right on the cup.   I'd buy that cup!  And I just LOVE the steam in this set... each piece cuts out separately so you can add them however you want!

And I couldn't let the day go by without shaking things up!

I just cut the cup from the snowflake paper and the cup outline die from a coordinating paper (the die set has outlines for the cup, the whipped topping AND the spoon!  Perfect for cutting out the stamped images or to outline the dies).  Then I cut a heart shaped window out of the center of my cup die cut, added some acetate inside the window and then some popup tape around the heart window.  I added sequins and beads and attached the cup to the background.  Since I added gold splatters, I cut the spoon from gold foil cardstock this time.  I built my sentiment from one of the sentiments from the Coffee Statement Stamp Set along with the Hot Cocoa words from the Hot Chocolate 2 Stamp Set we're featuring today!  So many of the Coffee Statement sentiments work really well with "Hot Cocoa" in place of "Coffee"!  So maybe we just need a "Hot Cocoa" word die??  Stephanie?  Maybe? :)

I'm playing along over at Double Trouble to create something using embossing and I've added the twist of snowflakes!  You should check this one out!  You have a couple days left to play along over there for a sweet prize!

So that's me for today!  Oh... AND I'm giving away one of these fantastic Stamps of Life Hot Chocolate die sets too!

It is quite awesome and you do need this in your cup die collection!  You have until the 20th to leave me some love here and I'll announce the winner on the 22nd also!

The next stop on the hop is the wonderful Laurel Seabrook!  You're sure to be wowed over there!  Thanks for stopping here and good luck!!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenges-Christmas/Winter/Holiday

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #21!  For December our challenge is Christmas/Winter/Holiday!  Here's how I was inpired:

So, surprise... there is a coffee/cocoa element to my card!..lol!  You'll find out why in just a bit if you don't already know.

But you should also know that we are collaborating again with the ladies over at Double Trouble Challenges!  Double Trouble is a fun challenge blog that likes to get together with other challenges and support each other.  You get chances to win a very thoughtful and cool prize and the more challenge elements you meet the more chances you get!  The Challenge over at Double Trouble during our collaboration is Embossing... any kind!  There is also a fun twist over there which is Let It Snow... add anything snow for an extra chance to win!  AND as if you didn't know, the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is going on right now and at Double Trouble, if you also play along over there by adding a Coffee, Cocoa, or Tea element to your creation, you not only can link up at Coffee Lovers, but you get an extra chance to win at Double Trouble!  I should have plenty of chances with my card because I've added it all!

I started by coloring this gorgeous and nostalgic image from the Snuggle Down stamp set from Power Poppy Stamps over Thanksgiving weekend.  I just LOVE how cozy it feels and it is perfect with that beautiful pack of retired CTMH paper, Jack.  If I could get my hands on another pack, I would... awesome awesome papers in that one.  I cut my rectangle layers using the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness and the banners were cut using the Fishtail Banners from MFT.  And the double fishtail is from the Flag Banner Dies from Craftin Desert Divas.. another one of my most used sets!  And then there are the awesome glittery snowflakes cut from some glitter paper from Lawn Fawn.  Take Note - Embossed Sentiment, Snowflakes, Coffee and Cocoa.  Right??  How easy was that?!

I hope you enjoyed your stop today and I hope you'll play along with us over at Three Amigos as well as check out what is going on over at Double Trouble and The Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  Be sure to hop on over to Donna and Susan's place and check out what they've created too!

Be sure to come back soon... I'll be sharing all things coffee, tea and cocoa all week long!
