Terrific Pretty Posies - CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

Hello all and welcome back! I have a quick and simple card for you today!  I love the neutral background with a pop of color in those pretty floral images from Pretty Posies!

I cut two panels from white and kraft, embossed the kraft piece and then trimmed them down to fit on one card and placed a strip over the seam to hide it.  Then I just stamped, die cut and colored those pretty posies.  I used my Misti to stamp one of the sentiments from Pretty Posies onto the white piece and then popped up my flower pieces.  And then I added some of those pretty chipboard hearts from the Coffee Chips Chipboard... perfect with the kraft paper just the way they are!  Easy peasy.. done!

I just love these pretty posies and love that this set makes it so easy to make a quick and pretty card.

Should you decide you absolutely need something from the shop, I have this for you:

Now!  On with our stencil inspiration:

Oh... I'm sorry... forgot to tell you to put on your shades!  I've made a bright and cheery card today using some Neon Pop Flock, Transfer Gel and the fun and pretty Bold Flower Stencil from the CAS-ual Fridays shop!  (Along with a couple other items!)

I started with that bright yellow cardstock and applied some Deco Foil Transfer Gel through the Bold Flower Stencil and set it aside to dry.   While it was drying I cut the Hello from glitter paper with a die from the Sweet Friend Die set and then again from white cardstock and a third time from orange.  Then I stacked them together with the orange at the bottom and offset it just a bit to give the Hello a bit of an orange "shadow".

I stamped the sentiment from Pretty Posies in orange.  At this point, I still had some drying time to go so I started on another card for tomorrow!  Once the gel was completely dry, I laid the Neon Pop Flock sheet over the stenciled cardstock (flock side touching the dried gel) and ran it through my Minc after heating it up on the 4 setting.  It came out perfectly and I assembled all of the pieces of my card along with some clear sequins.

And that's me for today!  IDK why but I've been all about the yellow lately.. feeling kind of sunshiny I guess!  And it's so fun to feel the texture on these flocked flowers.. just love it!!

That's me for today!  Check out the hop list below for your next stop!  Get ready to be inspired by all of the stencil techniques!  And be sure to come back here Monday because I'll have some more CAS-ual Fridays stencil inspiration for you!  But if there are some stencils you want, grab them at $5 by tomorrow, Sunday, July 12th!  And don't forget, I've got this for you:

You Are Terrific! - CASual Fridays Stamps

Lisa here!  Today I'm all about the Pretty Posies!  I'm playing along with the current 30 Day Coloring Challenge and I colored these up on Day 8 and got them right onto a card for today.  Of course I used some pretty and subtle pink plaid for a quick and simple background.

I used two of my favorite Copic combos to color these... for the Pink flower I used R81, R83, R85, and R89.  And for the green and white daisies I used YG01, YG03, YG17 and YG67.  Some days I pull out what seems like all of my Copic markers and other days I keep it simple!  These are my most often used combos.

And one of the Heart Board Fri-Dies cuts was the perfect place for one of the beautiful sentiments from the Pretty Posies set to rest.

That's me for today!  Hope you enjoyed your visit and whether you are participating in the coloring challenge or not, I hope you find some time to color, or stamp, or sew, or do whatever it is that makes your heart happy every day... even if it's just for a few minutes!

Happy Creating!

CAS-ual Fridays 7 Years Release - Doing Great!

Welcome to Day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays 7 Year Anniversary Release!  Today we're sharing projects using a fantastic new sentiment set, Doing Great!

If you ever need a card of encouragement for someone for any reason, what a great sentiment this is!  And it's true!  If you are reading this, you have survived anything you've gone through so far!

I decided this bold and uplifting sentiment needed a pretty background, so I used the flowers and leaves from the Pretty Posies stamp set and heat embossed them on the edges of a die cut panel.  Then I ink distressed the panel in some blues and added a little bit of stenciling using the Starlequin stencil.  Next I colored in the images using my Zig markers and finally splattered just a little bit of glitter watercolors over the top.

We hope you're enjoying this fun release!  And be sure to hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what everyone has created and find out how you could win some free stuff!

You will find all of the new release products in the shop now right here!  And should you see some things you must have, I have this for you:

Thanks so much for stopping and be sure to come back tomorrow for some more release inspiration!

Watercolored Backgrounds with CAS-ual Fridays!

Welcome to some CAS-ual Fridays watercolor inspiration!  I'm really loving my Paul Rubens glittery watercolors lately and creating lots of backgrounds with them.  I'm sharing with you today one of the ways I've been using them (or maybe two).

Nothing like a beautiful floral and this Pretty Posies set is SO lovely.  And with it's pretty and simple sentiments, the set is perfect for any occasion!

I cut my panel of watercolor paper and started by stamping the medium flower from the set in versamark and heat embossing with some Wow Bright White Embossing Powder.  When I'm random stamping I like to start with my largest image and stamp in a triangle pattern leaving room for my other images.  Then I go down to the next smallest image and do the same and fill in with the smallest.

Because the paper is white and it can be hard to see the images on the paper I heat emboss each set of images separately.  It also helps to keep me from smudging and ruining an image because my thumbs tend to get in the way.

Then I start to add my background color.  I don't worry so much about getting the background color over the images because a lot of the time it just mixes in with the other colors I add and creates some really cool colors.  Also because it's water, you also have the option to wet a space again and lift up the color with a paper towel.  I did that for my smallest flowers a bit because I was using orange and felt it would be a better color without mixing with the blue.  I'd let the background color dry and then see if I wanted to add any more color until I was happy.  Really the waiting is the hardest part as the song says...lol!

After I was happy with my background coverage, I started adding color back in with a smaller paintbrush.  Again, I would let my colors dry and then add some more where I wanted it.  I mixed in some purple with my pink and a couple different greens on the leaves... along with the blue I love the way they came out!

When I had everything colored in, I let it dry and splattered some more colors on with my tiny paint brush.  It's so much fun to play with watercolors this way!

I stamped and embossed a few more of each of the images onto some watercolor paper to be cut out and popped up on my card.  I added this simple sentiment from the set and finished my sentiment ...

With this Hello from the Sweet Friend Fri-Dies...

And there you have it!  I did fussy cut my images out because in my usual fashion I FORGOT I had the dies!!  Oh I wish I hadn't forgotten that...lol!  Although I don't mind cutting.. it sure would have been SO much easier had I just die cut them out.  Don't ask me how I forget these things... I just do...lol!

I had some extra flowers left over so I decided to create one more quick one:

Rather than creating a new identical background... I just used my watercolors with the Modern Petals Stencil for an even quicker and simpler background.. I'm gonna make a few more of these as well and I'll share those with you next time!

To make things easier for myself I kept the same design basically and this one came together quickly!

Have I mentioned how much I love the font on these Sweet Friend Fri-Dies??

So that's me for today!  I hope you enjoyed your stop here today and you'll pull out your watercolors and play a little.  I know I'm going to be doing just that very soon!

If you've seen something here today that you must have, I have this for you:

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #132

Happy November!  Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I'm also entering this into the Paper Sweeties November Inspiration Challenge.

The papers are Close to My Heart's Sangria.  I think this is one of my favorite paper packs in the new Idea Book and I haven't used it until now.  As soon as I saw the Paper Sweeties Inspiration picture I thought of these papers (minus the purple...lol).   I cute the leaves from Paper Sweeties Pretty Posies Sweet Cuts and the tag from Stitched Tags #1 Sweet Cuts.  The banner is also from the Paper Sweeties Be Happy Sweet Cuts.   I embossed the Champagne and Desert Sands pieces with CTMH's Woodgrain Embossing Folder and of course sprinkled Paper Sweeties sequins all over the place.  Oh!  Remember those PS Rusty Bells I was speaking of in my last post... added one just because I could....

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to play along with both challenges ... Atlantic Hearts is weekly and Paper Sweeties is monthly... check out all of the great artwork at both sites!

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Three Amigos Blog Hop!
