Magical Birthday Dragon - Miss Ink Stamps

I've got a fun card today that I created for a cool new challenge!  The Lunar New Year Challenge .. it's the year of the Dragon!  This challenge is new to me, but using the Dragon as my inspiration, I picked this Dragon from the Magic Collection over at Miss Ink Stamps and I think I love him!

I created the background using my gel press and thought it would be just right for this one.  I added a balloon from Punny Farm Pigs and a sentiment from Lovely Unicorns.

You should head on over to the Lunar New Year Challenge Blog and check it out.  There is lots of inspiration!

Thanks for stopping!  Come again soon!

Happig Christmas! From Miss Ink Stamps

Hello!  I've got some Punny Farm Pigs for you today, but it's Christmas Edition!  I love all of the extra images with the Ice Day stamp set that make it fun and easy to dress up a lot of the adorable critters over at Miss Ink Stamps for Christmas!

I wanted a Pink and Green background to go with my cute pigs and since those colors don't usually blend well, I decided to use a pink piece of cardstock and stenciled on some Ink on 3 Atelier Ink in Goddess Green using the Fine Lines Stencil!

I built my sentiment using part of a sentiment from Punny Farm Pigs and one from Season Greetings.

Speaking of Atelier Inks from Ink on 3, today is the last day to hop and comment for your chance to win a $25 gift code over on Instagram!  You can start at Miss Ink Stamps where you'll find the entire hop list!

Look for my post on IG with the hop graphic and this card:

Good luck!

Miss Ink Stamps and Thermoweb Collaboration Instagram Hop!

Hello!  Excited today because the Miss Ink Stamps Design Team is hopping over on Instagram along with the Thermoweb Team!  We've used both companies' products together and what a matchup!  Here's how I was inspired:

I used some of the great Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts for this slimline and applied some beautiful Summer Rainbow Deco Foil using my Minc for a fun birthday card with lots of shimmer!

Don't you just love the shine and fun foil adds to a project??  And it was perfect for a birthday card using the Punny Farm Pigs stamp set from Miss Ink!

Head on over to Instagram to hop for your chance to win a $25 gift card!  AND if you head on over to the Miss Ink and Thermoweb Blogs where you'll find some Thermoweb inspiration for you twice a day from the 28th of June to the 2nd of July.  Comment on all the posts for more chances to win another $25 gift card!  That's right... two gift cards.. one on Instagram and one on the blogs.  Hope you'll give us some visits!

Miss Ink Stamps - You Make My Heart Bleat!

Welcome back!  I have a non-traditional Valentine here today... I decided to go with a light and bright color palette and used another one of the fabulous background stamps along with it!

I just love the adorable Punny Farm Goats set!!  And I used the balloon from Punny Farm Pigs along with it.  And the Bold Love dies from Trinity went along perfectly!

And I can't say enough about this fabulous Slimline sized background stamp, Hay Daze.  I stamped it in Versamark onto the slimline panel and embossed in Gold.  Then I blended on some distress oxides... splattered with water and gold Color Shine and set it aside to dry while I colored up my images.

Added a few hearts and sequins and done!

Thanks so much for stopping today and hope you'll come again soon!

Birthday Hugs & Kisses - Miss Ink Stamps

Welcome back!  It's a new month and for September I'll be focusing on using Ranger Distress Embossing Glazes in various ways!

For today I used them along with the Gardenia, Everyday Sentiments, and Punny Farm Pigs stamp sets and one of the awesome Diamond Fade Stencils.

If you're like me, you're wondering how these are different from any other embossing powder.  What I can tell you so far is they are made to be translucent (yes, there are others that are but this line is all translucent) which is very cool because you can use the glaze over images like I did here and it will show through.  Also, the colors are in your favorite Distress Ink colors which is awesome, but if you apply them over other colors you'll get many different looks.  All of this is important to know before you use them to be sure you get the look you want!  If you like videos (and even if you don't) I'd recommend you watch this one here of Tim's demo at Creativation.  I'm not a video watcher, but it was great to see the different ways he uses them.  I'll be playing all month and share with you what I discover!

For this one I started by using Speckled Egg and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink to blend the background panel cut from Strathmore Mixed Media Paper.  (When I remember to, I like to start with this paper if I'm going to be using a bunch of different medium to avoid too much curling.)

Then I stamped the florals from Gardenia using my Misti in the corners using Ranger Archival Ink.  Next, I used a water brush to lift some of the color from the flowers and leaves and then used the same brush along with some Distress Oxide Inks in Milled Lavender and Bundled Sage along with a tiny bit of Fossilized Amber to lightly and loosely watercolor the floral images.

After the florals were dry, I applied some Broken China and Milled Lavender first and then clear embossing paste over that through the Diamond Fade Stencil and then used my fingers to sprinkle on some Broken China and just a little Weathered Wood (why not!?) Embossing Glazes and heated them up.  These do dry shiny and you can dull them if you prefer with Steel Wool (Tim suggests this in the video rather than sandpaper because it will just lightly buff off the shine).  I decided to add a little Wilted Violet over the top which did dull it a little which I'm sure I could have wiped off, but decided I liked it just the way it was!  See how the floral image lines and colors show through underneath the embossed areas?  I did leave some areas with little or no powder because I wanted to leave some areas embossed but really clear... and that's how I roll!

My initial plan was just to add a simple sentiment over the top, but I decided to instead add a few of the smaller birthday images from the Punny Farms Pig set!  I colored them with Copics in colors Complimentary to the inks I used.. some Vs and some BGs and then built my sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments stamp set!

Just a few sequins (of course!) and I was done!

I'm playing along over at Double Trouble Challenge's Something, Anything and Everything Challenge that goes through Sunday the 6th!  Check it out!  There are prizes!!

I had a lot of fun playing with this one and I can't wait to play again!  Thanks for stopping and be sure to come again soon!

Miss Ink Release Sneak Peeks - Hay Daze!

I am SO excited!  Today is the start of sneaks for the Miss Ink Stamps release and today we're sharing cards using the new Hay Daze background stamp!  All the new stamps will be available in the shop here on August 1st!

I absolutely LOVE this stamp!  It will fill up a slimline card design!

And you can use it for an A2 card!  And you can have so many different looks depending on the orientation and size of your panel!  I've cut a bunch of panels and I'll be using this one in August in a few different ways!

I colored my panels with my Copics and added the critters from Punny Farm Goats and Punny Farm Pigs... LOVE!!!

How Do You Make A Mouse Smile? - Miss Ink Stamps

Hello!  Welcome back!  I have been having so much fun this month playing with the Say Cheese stamp set and painting with glitter!  I think I saved the best for last.. well, at least my favorite!

With a sentiment like this, you just NEED to have a photo with friends!  I used all of the critters from Say Cheese along with the present, balloons and birthday hats from Punny Farm Pigs!

I painted the balloons with chunky glitter mixed in Glossy Accents in each color of the balloons!

And you may be able to tell that right now I'm quite partial to the Halftone Diamond stencil!  It is SO much fun and I love the white space it leaves along with all of that color!

We've got some cool stuff coming up from Miss Ink starting next week so be sure to check back!  SO excited!

Thanks for stopping and hope you'll come again soon!
