Happy New Year! We're back and doing it all over again! My fellow Crafty Elves have committed to making a card a week for the year and we share what we've made on the 25th of the month. That way when Christmas comes along next year all we have to do is mail them! Now, sometimes we run short on time and just can't get them all made... but even if some month's we fall short, we still have fun and enjoy inspiring each other!
Here's how I was inspired this month:
I needed a quick and easy design for this month .. January is a rough one at my work. And I thought of that gorgeous bow from The Greetery's Fit To Be Tied Die set and decided it was perfect! My plan was to just add a tag to my card "present" with a sentiment but I wanted to play along with the current challenge over at Double Trouble Challenge Blog so I needed something with music and a zoo animal! I decided to use some musical paper for my wrapping paper and this adorable llama and sentiment from this Woolly and Warm Llama stamp set (which is on sale!!) Check out the details for the current DT Challenge here!
I added the llama and sentiment to a tag from A Jillian Vance Design!
I decided to use another llama from the Flora & Fauna set for this one... I had fun coloring these in light colors to go along with the beautiful vintagey papers from Tim Holtz.
I wished I'd used the "Woolly" sentiment from the llama set for this one since it was a sweater type pattern, but I think it's adorable just the same!
Since this paper had the Night Before Christmas text on it I decided a mouse would be the right thing... and this one with the little cocoa cup from Waffle Flower was perfect! I used another sentiment from a Flora and Fauna set because it was just right and I love the little typewriter font!
I added gems to the center of that gorgeous bow for some extra bling.
I loved this paper from the Tim Holtz pad but it was much more dramatic than the others with all the black so I decided to treat it a little differently... I embellished with some gold leaves using some pretty A Jillian Vance Design dies and that Merry die from Honey Bee (Also on sale!) was just right with a black background!
I almost forgot to mention that I used the cool stitched strips from A Jillian Vance for the other part of my ribbon wrapping... they always come in so handy and are such a great set to have in your stash!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and don't forget to hop on over to Michael and Debra's places to see what they have for you today!
