Coffee Spoons - A Jillian Vance Design

Hello!  Welcome to the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  Today I'm sharing with you some A Jillian Vance Design Inspiration!  A Jillian Vance Design is one of the many sponsors offering up awesome prizes for linking up to the hop!

You just need to create something with a coffee, tea, or cocoa theme and link it up for your chance(s) to win!  (Yup! You can link up multiple new creations for multiple chances!).  For all of the rules and to check out who the sponsors are, link up or just start hopping, check out the main hop post here up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog!  And for even more fun, if you're not already a member, join us over in the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Group on Facebook here where we share caffeinated inspiration all year long!  (Be sure to answer all of the questions to get added right away!

Here's how I was inspired:

Meet the new Cozy Cup Die Set and the Brewed To Perfection Stamp Set!  That coffee bean background is so cool isn't it??  I stamped mine in Versamark using my Misti and then heat embossed with some Wow Caramel Macchiato embossing powder.  I let it cool for a minute and then put it back in the Misti (my stamp was still waiting patiently in position) and stamped over that again in Versamark (tip... make sure you put it back in in the right direction... don't ask how I know) and then sprinkled on a bit of Stampendous Shabby White embossing Enamel..not completely covering it.. just enough to add a little extra texture and a kind of splatter... and heated it up again.

I cut all of my cup pieces from white except for the spoon.  And see the pretty flower pattern die I used?  I cut a second cup in some gold cardstock to layer behind the white.  You could just cut a strip if you wanted the same look, but it was just so easy to line up the extra cup.  I cut the spoon from some matte gold foiled cardstock.  I used some Antique Linen Distress Oxide on the cup and saucer, colored the coffee insert with some brown Copics and then covered the steam die cut with Wow embossing ink in a dauber applicator and heat embossed the whole thing in that Shabby White powder... I love how it came out! And my tweezers came in quite handy for that one!  Then I assembled all of my pieces and to have enough room for my sentiment, I positioned the cup and saucer over the edge of the card and then cut the overhanging part off.

Finally I stamped, trimmed, and distressed my sentiment with the same ink as I applied to the cup for that aged look.  Don't you just love that sentiment??  A few sequins and I was done!

Well... that was a lot of words and thanks for sticking with me!  I had so much fun with these new sets and already have lots of ideas for them!  I hope you are having fun and playing along with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and good luck!  Come back again soon!

Let The Fun Times Roll - Miss Ink Stamps!

Hey there!  Today I've got some more Alice In Wonderland for you!  I've used the Queen of Hearts and Paint the Roses sets along with the awesome Pick A Card Stencil.

I started with the stencil and I blended some Black Soot Distress Oxide onto the diecut rectangle panel cut from Mixed Media paper.  Then I applied some clear texture paste over the top of it and while it was still wet I added some Vintage Candy Cane embossing powder from Wow and Aged Black embossing powder from Stampendous and heat it with the heat gun.  I love embossing with texture paste.  It makes such a nice texture and especially fun to mix different embossing powders!  I just heat it until it bubbles a bit.

Black and red Copics... the most challenging Copics in my opinion which makes it even better when I'm all done and it works!  And the Blending Marker and White Gel Pen are my best friends...lol!

I even colored the little rose leaves black... I didn't like the thought of just having that tiny bit of green so I thought... why not??  And see those little Painted Roses that I added along with the sequins... so cute, right?

So much fun!

I'm playing along over at Double Trouble Challenge Blog's It's Hip To Be Square Challenge with my Square Frame!

Thanks so much for stopping and hope you'll come again soon!

Beautiful Blooms I Miss - Hellebore

I love that I don't live where it snows any more, but there are some beautiful blooms that don't grow well in the desert that I miss... the wonderful Hellebore is one of them!  This image from Stampendous was so much fun to color up!  I decided on purple and it's made me realize again how little purple there is in the crafting world!  I was so happy to find that purple plaid in the Summer Plaid paper pad from Your Next Stamp!  It was exactly right!

I picked up this beautiful bloom, the Small Hellebore by Stampendous over in the White Rose Crafts Shop with my winnings from their monthly sketch challenge so I thought I'd use it to play along with the July Challenge:

Sketch challenges can be the most... well... challenging challenges for me.  I'm rarely able to be a purist about it, but I'd say I came pretty close this time!  And I'm quite happy with the results!

This "small" Hellebore is really the perfect size... I'd say not to small but large enough to be able to have fun coloring it and take up just the right amount of space on a card.

The Celebrate Die-Namic from MFT was also just the ticket... I was excited to get a couple of those leaves to stick out of the sentiment.  So happy I finally got my hands on that awesome word die!  And I decided to play on the green in the leaves with a strip of green CTMH Shimmer Trim... not sure if the green is available any more... I may have to hoard what I have left!!

I finished off with some clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh... I love those great big ones!  So much fun!

I hope you'll head on over to White Rose Crafts and play along this month!  If there are at least three participants, there is a $15 prize to the shop!  You just need to use any item(s) that's available in the White Rose shop to play along... and there are lots of items you may have in your stash!  Just create and share in the White Rose Crafts Gallery on Facebook to enter!  And there is a free shipping event going on through July 5th!

Happy Holiday!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop-Day 8 Can't Let Go!

Don't think you can get rid of me that easily!  I'm here to share "one" more card (maybe 2) before the end of this glorious hop!  I have a little Stampendous House Mouse for you tonight:

You may have seen a very similarly colored image earlier in the hop... my mom and I went to a Jennifer Dove coloring class a while ago... well, we've been going every month... but a few classes ago we colored up this cutie!  I had forgotten about it until I saw Mom's card and I hunted it down.  We color, but don't put the card kits together at the class ... well.. because there is no time.  And although I LOVE Jennifer's cards and her style, I can't stand the thought of having the same card as someone else, so I saved the papers for another future card and decided I should use some more of this awesome MFT plaid paper from the Merry & Bright pad.

These House Mouse images are pretty easy to make adorable and with Jennifer's help, it was even easier!  This image is called Warm Drink.  Aren't these guys adorable??

And these pretty poinsettias are from a K & Company... I got this package at a swap meet for cheap and I wasn't sure if I'd even use them, but turns out they're kinda beautiful and make a quick and easy embellishment.  And speaking of poinsettias, I made this one with the Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge for this week with a Twist of Poinsettia!  You should definitely check this group out!

I tucked in a few white glittery snowflakes that I cut out using the Paper Smooches Snowflake Dies... one of my favorites!

And I used this sentiment from Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags Stamp Set.  I embossed it in white on a vellum banner cut using the Craftin Desert Divas Flag Banner Dies.

So... gotta run and try to fit in one more!  Hope to see you again!
