Three Amigos May Mini Blog Hop

This month our challenge was to make something with the special Free to Be Me paper pack.  This is a great pack with both printed papers and embossed matching card stock.  My youngest is graduating next week and this is the card I made for him.  The graduation caps are raised at different levels.  I used twist ties to give the feeling of confetti.  I have to say a good amount of this card was inspired by my fellow amigo Susan including her talking me into finally using the twist ties.

Three Amigos Mini Blog Hop April (Yes... April)

This month's challenge was to use Ivy Lane in a project.  It's been a rough winter.  I work in an accounting office and the month before the 15th I didn't step foot in my scrap room.  It's been killing me.  My fellow hopper's were so forgiving when I didn't complete this month's challenge on time.  I hope they are as forgiving to see that I didn't actually use Ivy Lane-I forgot to order it!  So instead I used the color palette (or as close as I could since I didn't have Ivy Lane Purple or Ivy Lane Green).  Love this stamp set which you can only buy if you host a gathering or workshop.  My card is simple and I used a pattern in the first Make It From Your Heart book.

Three Amigos March Mini Blog Hop

Welcome back to the Three Amigos CTMH Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. Each month we are featuring a different CTMH product and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

Close to My Heart has some great new embossing folders that can be used with various embossing tools such as the Cuttlebug.  I used the Quatrefoil folder and embossed the hearts on my layout.  I cut out white hearts, embossed them and then inked them with Sweet Leaf and distressed them with Chocolate.  I love embossing because it adds dimension and sometimes it can be as simple as creating your own embellishments for your page or card.

 

I also used this May Stamp of the Month again.  When I first saw it in the book I didn't think I'd ever use it, but I've already used it twice.

 

The paper pack is Skylark and I used the scrapbooking Workshop on the Go to create the first three pages of my layout.  Below is a close-up of the embossed hearts.

 

Then for the remainder of my photos (because I take a lot) I used the Skylark Picture My Life kit.

 

The Picture My Life series is fantastic.  Each kit comes with photo pocket pages and inserts that coordinate with one of the fantastic CTMH paper packets.  The sentiment insert below came in the pack.  I cut four pieces of the Skylark paper and used them in the center sections.  There are so many different sentiments, journaling squares and just decorative pieces in each kit.  They can be used in the Picture My Life pocket pages or on regular scrapbook pages and cards.  The pocket pages come with both vertical and horizontal pockets in the 4x6 and 2x3 sizes.  More to come!

This month's project was to feature the new Skylark paper pack.  I needed to make my dad a birthday card so I used it for that.  This was a quick card.  My inspiration came from one of the cards in the Idea Book made with the Stamp of the Month for May (Yes, I'm a little ahead of myself) You've Got a Friend.  I popped up the circle in the center and used masking to make THE a different color from the rest of the stamp.  Lots of arrows from our Midtown Cork shapes and some aqua Dots.

Three Amigos Mini Blog Hop January

For this challenge we decided to feature some of the products that will be retiring come February.  The  product I chose was the Huntington Paper Pack.  It's a beautiful paperpack that I just didn't use as much as I wanted.  I needed to create a shadow box for Christmas for a friend using the senior pics I took of her son.  She has been a good friend and a life raft to me at work and I wanted to thank her for that.    The shadowbox took a much different turn than I expected... my plan originally was to use all the great arrows and southwestern flavored embellishments that all of our current stamp sets and Cricut cartridge have to offer (after all it is trendy and we do live in Arizona).   The colors of Huntington were perfect and the rest kind of brought itself together. The feeling was a little more "elegant" and I think it suited the picture much better so as usual, my plans changed.  Then when I found the quote, I knew it was perfect.

Three Amigos December Hop

Welcome back to the Three Amigos CTMH Mini-Blog Hop. We are three Close to My Heart Consultants with a love for Stamping and Scrapping and would like to share our creative ideas with you. Each month we are featuring a different CTMH product and create a card, layout or other project. There are only 3 stops on this hop so it will only take a few minutes to hop through.

This month we had a color challenge.  We each chose one color.  The colors we chose were Ruby, Sunset and Buttercup.  I made an 8x8 page using pics from our trip to Convention this past Summer.  The colors were perfect.  Warm colors, warm trip, and warm fuzzies spending time with my pals.  I used the special Viva stamp set we received for attending. I mixed and matched papers from various paper packs and Washi tape.  I took the flower pic at the resort we stayed at and used two.  I cut the flower out and popped it up over the flower in the pic.

Sparkle & Shine

Made both of these cards with the Sparkle & Shine paper pack.  I wanted to make something with it that wasn't Christmassy so I did the birthday card for a good friend.  Then I had a few Poinsettia cuts and the sentiment stamped in my scraps so I decided to make a Christmas card as well. 

I had a hard time figuring out how to make the birthday card a little bit feminine (and not Christmassy) with the colors in the pack so I decided to replace the Ruby with Hollyhock and I love the combo.  I used two of the washi tapes from the holiday catalog and some bling.  The ribbon is the color ready seam binding ribbon colored with blush and hollyhock.

My next challenge was making the bird on the Christmas card stand out so I took a page from fellow consultant and friend Donna Davis's scrapbook and made it a completely different color from the rest of the card.  More washi tape and a little zip strip from the paper pack and a few glitter gems.  The centers of the poinsettias are cut out circles from a zip strip.
