Inside-Outside Cats from Rubbernecker Stamps!

I have this one up on the blog over at Rubbernecker Stamps!

Over there you'll find all of the details about how I put this one together.  It was quite a ride!

It's almost like 3 cards in one...lol!

All because of this adorable front and back cat set... it just called for some kind of window!

Lots of fun and loved coloring up those kitty cats in different colors!

Here’s how it opens:

Join me over there for the details!

I've included links below to all of the Rubbernecker Stamps products that I used for this one.  Should you decide to purchase using these links I will receive a small compensation at no additional cost to you.  And thank you!

A Lumberjack Plaid Sunset! - Miss Ink Stamps

Happy Friday!  I've got some more jungle fun for you but this time I've paired it with a fun plaid sunset...lol!  I used the Lumberjack Stencil with some Transfer Gel over one of the watercolor panels I created the other day and foiled it in a Dazzling Orange!

I die cut a circle as a backdrop to my cute little jungle animals and stamped the Jungle Ruins scene onto it.  Then I decided to blend inks in the same colors that I used for that watercolor background and then popped my jungle animals over it.

That adorable Gorilla and the plants are from the Jungle Kids stamp set and the little monkey and ruins are from Jungle Ruins.

Thanks so much for stopping today! I hope you'll come again soon!

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas - April 2022 Edition

It's the 25th of the month and time for the Crafty Elves to share the Christmas Cards we made this month!  I've been playing with foil all month.. mostly with my gel prints and acrylic paint.  For today I've used foil with acrylics and some good old Transfer Gel from Deco Foil because sometimes you just want some good, solid, dependable shine!

So here we go!

I made this background using a Newton's Nook stencil and applied some Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco... blanco because that's what I grabbed... could have used the clear.. but either way, I let it dry and ran it through my Minc...

And bam!  Look at that pretty rainbow snowfall!

Here's how I made these first two backgrounds:

Just some good old fashioned foiling using a Snowflake Stencil from Newton's Nook and some Thermoweb Transfer Gel and Rainbow Foil!

The snowflakes I'm using this month were gel prints that I decofoiled with some used foil sheets and cut with dies from A Jillian Vance Design and Lawn Fawn.

Here's how I did that:

So pretty, right!?

The thing about foiling on a gel print is it's always unexpected... and some won't turn out the way you want, but you can always use them for die cutting!

I used the same stencil for this one, but just a simple inked background.... one of the beautiful foiled snowflakes that fit perfectly in the center of that cool MFT Happy Holidays die.  I don't think that one is around any more but you can get a Merry Christmas one here!

I think I must have a thing for purple and aqua for Christmas this year....

And this one... well... a digi printed on a very old gel print and then foiled in rainbow... yeah.  The Unique Snowflake digi from Angie Blom ... one of my very faves...

I just added the die cut Merry, cut from foil cardstock and stacked to the front and that was that!

And finally...

We colored this cutie from Paper Nest Dolls at Copic Bootcamp last December and decided it was time to get him on a card.  So I foiled a snowy background using the Tiny Snowfall stencil from Miss Ink.

I threw a few of the foiled snowflakes around for a fun and simple card.

And that's me for today!

Be sure to head on over to Michael and Debra's places to see what they've created for you today!

And before you go, let's see who has won some Happy Mail from last month's post:

Sue D!   Snail mail me your address to bzscrapper66 at gmail dot com so I can get something in the mail to you!

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped and left some love!  See you again next month!

Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism - April 2022

Hello!  Today I'm participating in the Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism Hop over on Instagram.

I thought this would be a good opportunity to share some of the things I've learned in the last couple of years.  I'll start by sharing the card I've created for today's hop:

I started this one by stamping and coloring that awesome image from the Hero Arts Power To The People stamp set.  I used various E Copic combos to color all of the hands.  If you are looking for good skin combos in all shades, go to Pinterest and search Color of the Day Copic Jennifer Dove and you will find a wealth of color combos including for hair and skin!  You can thank me later.

I decided to create a rainbow background using a cool technique I learned while at Jenn Dove's Coloring Bootcamp.  Here's a quick video:

Fun right?  There are lots of ways to use this technique!

I cut a brick background using this AJVD die and strips in rainbow colors using this AJVD die set.  I popped the sentiment/image up and added a few sequins.

And here are all of the colors I used to color the hands holding the sign.

Now for the fight against Racism part.  You may be wondering what all of the hubbub is.  Racism is going away, right?  It's only some individuals that are the problem.  It's not you and me for sure.  But did you know that the systems that have been constructed in this country... in the world... support bias against the most vulnerable.  And every individual racist could be gone, yet if we don't change our systems, racism will live.  It's up to each of us to work hard to push for the changes needed to make our systems work for everyone.

I'd like to suggest that regardless of what level of Allyship we are at, we can always learn more.  One of the best resources to get or keep you on your way is a podcast I found by NPR.  It's called Scene on Radio and particularly the Seeing White season addresses a lot of history that I know I never learned in school, but it happened, and begins to give an explanation of Systemic Racism-what it is-ways it started-how it persists.

I hope you'll give it a listen.  If you learn one new thing it will be worth it!  And please do stay with Scene on Radio and listen to all of its seasons.  There is really a wealth of knowedge and it's a great place to start learning about so many things that  you may have been wondering about as well as some really sweet stories.  There is a season on Men (great for men and women as well) and the newest season is on climate.  You can find the website here or find the podcast on your favorite podcast app!  And if you're new to podcasts, I highly recommend them.  You can listen while you craft!  I do every morning.

Thank you so much for stopping and be sure to head on over to Instagram to hop and maybe meet some new paper crafters and/or learn some things.

Come again soon!

Miss Ink Stamps - The Strength of the Pack

Welcome back!  Today I'm using these adorable wolf cubs from the Miss Ink Stamps Wolf Pack stamp set!  I used a recently foiled gel print... with this one I got a third use from a foil sheet:

So cool, right??  I love the distressed feel... I get everything I love... the sparkle and the distress all in one.

I embossed the Beautiful Destination background stamp onto the panel and then added the pups as well as a few trees and stones from the Bear Hugs set and some die cut grass in gold to match the embossing and other gold touches.

I added an a-woooooo above the howling pup and then that beautiful sentiment from the stamp set on a strip.

And that's me for today!  Thanks so much for stopping and hope you'll come again soon!
