Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series - July 2017!

Welcome to the July 2017 Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series!  Today I'm sharing with you my planner pages for my upcoming vacation... yes... vacation!!  Links to everything I've used today are at the end of this post.

You'll notice there is a lot of coffee on this spread...lol!  That's because my mom and I are going to be shuffling off to Buffalo where there is a Tim Hortons and awesome pizza on every corner!  And believe me... there will be Tim Hortons every day... sometimes twice a day... and pizza... well.. if I can manage to make that happen every day too, I will!  I don't miss the snow, long winters, and frigid temps, however I do miss my people, the Tim Hortons, and the pizza.

I was inspired by this month's inspiration photo for my colors because I love the red, white and blue for July, and although it's not a patriotic layout, it does make me think of summer and picnics and the country... have you played along with the Paper Sweeties Anything Goes Challenge this month yet?  More info at the end of this post!

So.. yeah.... about a week to go... work is crazy as ever and I cannot wait to slow down a bit!  There may or may not be a few sneak peeks going on over here in this area.  That's me... and that's my cup of coffee... it's big :) .

I used almost every one of my awesome Paper Sweeties coffee sets on this layout...lol!  I love all of the sentiments that are included and of course the cup from the Keep Calm & Drink Coffee set is my new fave!

And all of the cute little icons from the Planner Series Coffee set were perfect!  I told you!  It's on the "schedule" for every day! (And I do use the word schedule loosely... everything is subject to change for this week!)

There were printed flowers on this planner page but they were pink and just did not look good... but that's ok, because I got out my Pretty Posies set and covered them up with some flowers that coordinated better... don't you love this sentiment... hmmm... I don't remember seeing this before!... weird...

So thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check all of these places out!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #220-You Are A Deer!

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  Today I'm using some papers and stamps that I've had for quite some time and just haven't used yet... I don't know why...and I'm playing along with the Use Your Stuff Challenge for this week, All Creatures Great and Small.   I bought these Woodland papers from Pretty Little Studio some time ago and the Love You Deer clear stamp set from Jessica Lynn Original also!  I got them because they are beautiful and there they sat!  So I pulled them out this morning and decided to use them with my sketch!

Isn't she just the sweetest?  I love that face!  This set is also appropriate for say a masculine hunting card with some other sentiments and images, and although I knew I'd never use the hunting sentiments, all of the images are beautiful and there are some sweet sentiments on it as well...  I'm imagine a beautiful wintery scene with this pretty girl on it...but for today she's pretty in pink...

And the papers in the Woodland pack from Pretty Little Studios... love this pack! And that butterfly diecut is also from their shop... they have got some beautiful and also vintagey things and you should check it out!

So thanks for stopping by!  Hope you'll play along with us at Atlantic Hearts this week and maybe pull some things out that have been neglected around your crafty room and use them up... or at least start using them!

Newton Rides (South)West!

Howdy!  Sharing a card with you today using the adorable Prickly Pear papers and Complements from CTMH along with a new stamp I got from Newton's Nook during the awesome release last month.  I won a stamp set!!! (not this one, but I'll share something with that later!)  I couldn't resist all of the cactus/western themed sets that were released and I just might have ended up with all of them taking up residence in my Southwest home...

I'm playing along with the Cardz TV Anything Goes Challenge #5 with this one.  You should check it out!

I just love Newton and especially love him in his Cowboy duds!  And there are quite a few adorable cowboy Newtons in the Newton Rides West Set... you can check it out here!  Here I did a simple little scene with Newton and the cactus and scalloped piece are from the Prickly Pear Complements.  The die behind them... I must admit I don't know who it's from... I borrowed it from my mom at a crop last weekend, but I plan on finding out because I love it!

The banner is from CDD and the cute little horseshoe and sheriff's badge are from the Newton Rides West set as well... so cute!

I used that fantastic Retro Arrow background die again from Paper Smooches that you can still get in the clearance section over there!  Love this die and the price is more than right!

So thanks for stopping by and do come back again.. I'll be back Monday with Atlantic Hearts and next week starts the Paper Sweeties August Release... hope to see you soon!

And don't forget my giveaway!  You can find out more about that here!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #219

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  This was a great sketch to use some more of my No Worries paper pack.... I loved using all of my scraps to cut a bunch of stitched banners for the main background design.

I'm also playing along with the No Worries Challenge for July at Heart2HeartChallenges!  You should check it out!

I used some dies from C.C. Designs that I got on clearance for stamping my sentiment and the vellum label.  Love these!  And that great Margarita glass is from Two Paper Divas... they aren't around any more, however you can still find some of their stamp sets around if you search online...

And I hardly ever just put my sentiment on the base, but I felt like I had enough banners...lol!  So I thought this was a good time for that!  I carried the green from the Margarita glass around the design by adding a few green sequins..

That's it for me today!  Hope you enjoyed this quick card... LOVE this sketch!  Hope you join us over at Atlantic Hearts this week!

And check this out!  You can click here to find out about my giveaway this month!

The Cutting Cafe Inspiration-Popup Flowers!

Welcome to the July 7th edition of Cutting Cafe Inspiration!  This time around we are playing with Popup Flowers and you can find the file here!  You are going to LOVE this one!

This card base and covering layer is included in the cutting file!  I love the rounded corners!  I used some old paper, stickers, dies and stamps from my stash to decorate the front, along with those pretty flowers from the Beautiful Hydrangea stamp set from the Cutting Cafe Shop... you should definitely check this one out!

I let the banner that holds my sentiment on the inside stick out a little.. I thought that would be fun... are you ready??

BAM!  POW!  lol... sorry, but I just love this!... these flowers and layering pieces are so easy to cut and put together-just watch the video and it will all make sense.  So easy ... and one tip I have is yes... when you attach your flower cluster to the inside of the card you are only attaching two petals... the rest takes care of itself!

I used an embossing folder to emboss my leaves before I attached them... I love the way it looks.  I used white just because I thought it would be prettier with this color scheme and I think it is... and it doesn't look as off as I thought it would... to my eyes anyway... I love it!

I chose to go with my sentiment on a banner and I let it lay behind the flowers just a bit.  It doesn't interfere at all.  I used the cutting file to cut the inside layers as well.

And the sentiment is from the Everyday Words set from the Cutting Cafe Shop.  I love this set because you can build almost any sentiment you want... I haven't been disappointed yet!

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you check out the Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th you'll see pics and links to all of the awesome Design Team projects made with this file... and they aren't all popup cards... wait 'til you see!!  So pretty!  And if you comment on the Cutting Cafe blog post, you could win some free files!

And don't forget I'm celebrating 100 followers this month!  I'll be drawing from all comments on my July posts to send a gift to someone!  You must be a follower of my blog either through blogger or through email and if you're not already, just pick one and let me know!  Please do let me know how you found me and a little bit about yourself!  I love to read your comments especially when you tell me something I don't know about you... and be sure I know how to get a hold of you too!

See you again soon I hope!

100 Followers Giveaway!

Confetti flying, music playing, fireworks display.. oh... that's the 4th of July celebration at the neighbor's house... but that's how I feel on the inside!  Was so excited to hit 100 this week!  I know... to some it's not much maybe, but I feel especially warm inside because I know that the people that are following me are doing so because they liked what they saw or read when they came here and that make me smile!  So for that I thank you all!  And not just to those who follow me, but anyone who stops by and leaves me some love... maybe you mean to follow and forget (I do that all the time!) or maybe you just don't wanna... and that's ok... I mean... when I die I don't think I'll be judged by my number of blog followers... :) ... and hopefully not by the number of crafty items I own that are still in closed packages... hmmm...

Either way, I am excited and any reason to give some stuff away!  More on this in a bit!  First I have this for you:

I took out my growing collection of Paper Smooches stamps and dies to play along with the challenge over there this month which is Anything Goes!  While I love the freedom of Anything Goes it's almost more of a challenge for me because I just keep sifting through all of my stuff with all of my ideas and have a hard time deciding where to start!  So I just took out a few of the items I hadn't used yet that I've been wanting to and went to town... the first being that awesome Retro Arrow background die... this baby is in the clearance section!!  I don't know why because it's pretty awesome...here I just used it white on white to keep my background quiet and neutral (well that almost never happens..lol!)

I used the Pineapple2 die for that awesome pineapple and die cut it from some pre-watercolored paper.. sometimes when I don't have time to do anything else, I'll just take out my water color paper and watercolors and smoosh some color around... let it dry while I do other stuff and then maybe swish some more or not depending... not for any particular purpose except to play with the colors and see what I can come up with and then I keep it to use later.

And that sweet bunny and sentiment that I stamped on a Reverse Confetti circle are from the Pineapple Crush stamp set ... so sweet right???  I watercolored him using my Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils and a water brush... and then I just threw a few CDD sequins around in some tropical colors. Done!

So, on to the giveaway! For this giveaway, I am requiring that you be a follower of my blog.  Normally I don't ask, but I think it's fair since this a celebration of people that decided that they liked it here enough they'd like to be reminded to come back again!   You can follow by Blogger or sign up to get email notifications and just let me know which you chose or if you're already a follower let me know that too.  I will choose a winner from all of the comments from all of my posts during the month of July!   No... I don't know what I'm giving away yet... but this is open to international followers too and depending on where you are, what I know about you, and shipping will have a bearing on your gift.  I may even pick more than one!

I would love to hear from you how long you've been following or what post made you say... hey!  I'd love to come back here again... or how did you find me?  You know ... stuff like that... and please be sure I can get a hold of you if you are the winner!

So, if you've been here before you may or may not know a few things about me:

1.  If you visit me I do my very best to visit you back.  Sometimes I can't find people, or sometimes I'm just so very busy (I hate that reason, but it's true) and I intend to come and see you but never make it there.  It is my intention though to stop to say hi to each and every one of you that let me know you were here!

2.  I don't make "tutorials" in the traditional way.  Usually no step by step.  I'm creating on limited time and rarely remember to take pics along the way.  But I try to give info you need to find tutorials when I've used them and I'm always very happy to answer any questions you may have.

3.  I try to give links to the products I use when I can.  I don't consider myself a sales person.. I make and use things that I absolutely love and that spoke to me in some way.  I support the companies I purchase from whenever I can because I love them, including those that I am on Design Teams for.  Sometimes I forget to link or don't have time and please just let me know if you want info about anything!

4.  I am a CTMH Consultant.  If you ever wanted to shop at my site I'd be happy to have you, but I would encourage you to find a consultant that is near you if you want face to face one on one time to learn about your products, attend workshops, etc and buy from them.  Again, I'm always here for virtual help, but it's pretty awesome when you find someone who is close to you that can invite you over and really show you how to use your stuff.

5.  I LOVE this art community.  I believe that everyone that creates something is an artist.  I have an Andy Warhol saying posted on my blog that kind of sums it up.   I believe that everything we do is inspired by something we saw.  I love when people are inspired by something they see here and never mind when someone uses something of mine to create something of their own.  When I'm inspired by someone, I try to give credit and link to them when I can in some way.   That being said, I rarely make the exact replica of what someone else makes just because I don't find that fun...but that's me!

Anyway, just a few fun facts about me that you may or may not have already known and that you may or may not care to know ... lol!  Thanks for bearing with me!  Now let me know you were here!  And tell me a little something about yourself because I want to know.  And to those of you who I visit regularly and may be feeling neglected, I'll be around soon!  I was so busy last week coffee-ing I didn't do much visiting... can't wait to see what you've been up to!

Come back soon!  And Thanks again!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #4 - Prickly Pear

Welcome to the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge for July 2017! This month we are challenging you to use the Prickly Pear papers or be inspired by the colors in the paper pack and create something new, link up, and you could win a small prize!
Here is the paper pack:
I knew I'd love this paper and so I did not agree to share this one with my mom!  Here is what I've created for you:

I mean if there are cacti on it... it must come home with me you know!  So I got the paper, the complements AND the stamp set!  I used a PML card from the paper pack for the sentiment and the Cactus is from the stamp set.

The awesome garland is from Reverse Confetti dies and the flowers and hearts are from the Complements.

Isn't he a cutie??  Love this guy!

And I scattered a few drops from Doodlebug around because they were the perfect color!

Now be sure to check out what Donna and Susan have created for you!  And we hope you'll play along with us in July!
