Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series - November 2018

Welcome to the November Plan Your Life Series at Paper Sweeties!  We have a great new planner set to show you, Everyday Basics!  It's a good one and I think you're gonna love it as much as I do!

I'm in love with this printable planner I use, but it doesn't have the weekdays printed on it.  Easy enough for me to look above to see what dates are what days... but until now, I didn't have some awesome weekday stamps to mark them right on the day!  Everyday Basics has that!  And it's got numbers too if you need those!

Not to mention... um... Pizza Night???  I'm pretty sure Debbie created this set just for me!  It's a fantastic new set with a lot of the basics we planner girls need!

I decorated with a cute harvest theme using some sets old and new!  Links are at the bottom of this post.   It was fun to paper piece Jake's outfit... love his style... that plaid sweater with his bluejeans...

And on this side, I used the awesome sentiments from last month's I'm nuts about You Stamp Set... Love these sentiments!

I'm playing along with Anything Goes over at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog!  You should check it out!

So thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to checkout what my teamies have created for you today:

CAS-ual Fridays Holiday Release Day 4 - Christmas and Hanukkah Word Dies!

Welcome to Day 4 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Holiday Release!  Today we're playing with the Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas Fri-Dies and here's how I was inspired:

I wanted to make a card where both word dies could be used.  So I decided some pretty blues rather than the traditional red and green for Christmas and of course some pretty snowflakes and why not a little plaid?  I mean... when is plaid NOT just right??

So I started with a pretty blue plaid... well... two!  And then I cut the Scallop Tags Fri-Dies from white paper and used an embossing folder to add some texture.  I layered it with some foam tape to add some dimension.

Then I cut the Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah from glitter paper once and white cardstock twice.  I stacked the sentiments together for more dimension... I love doing this because they are kind of like chipboard and I think it really let's the word die cut stand out even more!  I adhered them across the tag with some liquid glass.

Then I cut a bunch of snowflakes using the Funky Flakes Fri-Dies from glitter paper and layered these two...

... and scattered the rest... then just a few sequins scattered and I had two cards done!

I love that these cards can easily be mass produced and just by varying the background paper a bit they can all be different!

You could save time and not stack your sentiments and put them together even faster!

So thanks for stopping today!  Be sure to check out what all of my teamies have created for you today!  You can find all of the new products already in the shop here (orders will begin shipping November 5th) and I've got a code for you should you decide to shop!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 3 - Mistletoe Fri-Dies!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Holiday CAS-ual Fridays Release!  Today we're showing off the new Mistletoe Fri-Dies!  This awesome set coordinates with the previously released Mistletoe and Holly stamp set.  Here's how I was inspired:

I knew I wanted the Mistletoe to be hanging in a window.  The Bubble Box Fri-Dies were perfect for this!  I started by attaching my plaid background paper to a white piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cardstock.  Then I used the 3rd smallest Bubble Box die and cut a window through both layers... easy peasy!  Then I took my card base and added a layer of design paper on the inside of the front and used the 2nd largest die to cut a larger window into the base-rather than trying to line up the smaller window I thought this would be easier and look cool on the inside... which I think it does!  And I was able to use the actual die cuts from both windows on the inside of the card as well!

I just made sure to line up the red plaid so that it fit perfectly in the window by adhering back in it's place while the front was closed over.

I stamped, die cut and colored the Holly from the stamp set and attached it to the top of the window with a piece of thin foam tape and stamped the Mistletoe and Holly sentiment on the "inside" and stamped with Versamark and heat embossed it in white on the front.  I was going to leave it like this when I thought of making a belly band so that you'd see the first part of the sentiment first and then the rest of the sentiment when you removed the band.

I used two layers of cardstock and some pretty washi tape for the center.  And then I used the 4 Petals and Jumping Jacks Fri-dies to create some poinsettias for the front of the band.

And I love them just as much as I thought I was going to when I had this idea!  I added some Nuvo drops to the centers for good measure.

A few sequins in the same bright green as the poinsettia flowers and I was done!  I love this one!  I hope you do too!

I'm playing along again with Anything Goes over at Double Trouble Challenges and Twisted Thursday at the Outlawz!  I'm also playing along with the Christmas challenge over at Fab N Funky!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 2 - Dashing Stamps and Snow Fri-Dies!

Welcome to Day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays Release!  Today we're showing off the new Dashing Stamp Set and Snow Fri-Dies.  I was all set to create a card for today but I've been thinking lately it's time I slapped some pics on a page and made a layout.  And when I thought of the sentiment Dashing Through The Snow, I remembered how every year when my kids were small we'd go on the Santa Express and what dashes through the snow better than a train?!  So this idea came to me!

I chose some papers from a leftover pack that I've had for quite a while in my stash.  When I planned the pages in my head my color scheme was different... mostly blues and white... but when I found the pictures I wanted to use there was a lot of red (I mean Santa, right??) so I was happy to find these papers easily.  I started by adding the two wide strips and then I splattered on some acrylic paints in white, blue, and black.

I chose a few of my favorite pics from the day to be on this layout.  This will be the first page of my layouts and the rest will be in photo pocket pages.  I started scrapping this way a few years ago... I took A LOT of pics every time we did something so I was finding it hard to scrapbook all of them.  And I love the look of a page with just a few photos on it so this method is perfect for me!  I can really go to town on the one or two layout(s) and plop the rest in pocket pages!  I'll decorate those just a bit so they coordinate with this page, but it will be quick and easy!

In this upper left corner, I stamped the "Dashing Through The" sentiment from the stamp set.  I fussy cut it out and then die cut the Dashing word from glitter paper and layered it over the stamped image.

I love how it gave the Dashing word an outline to make it stand out!

And then the second part of my sentiment over in the bottom right hand corner of these top photos

That Snow word die... gorgeous, right??

I finished decorating my page using the snowflakes from the Funky Flakes Fri-Dies cut from glitter paper and those beautiful borders from the Lovely Links Fri-Dies along with some embellishments, stickers, and sequins from my stash.

And then down here a few more photos... you know how old photos with a point and shoot camera are... they're perfect for cutting small photos to add almost as an embellishment to your pages.  Oh!  And those pretty glittery hearts?  A lovely by-product from my Lovely Links cuts... it's like a two-fer!

And this week is Anything Goes over at Double Trouble Challenges and until Wednesday at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday too!  I'm playing along with both!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to check out what everyone else has made using these awesome new stamps and dies!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 1 - Big Hope Fri-Die!

The wait is over!  It's time for the Release Party over at CAS-ual Fridays!  Today we're showing off the new Big Hope Fri-Die!  Awesome right??  It's a fantastic size and the font is SO beautiful! And here's how I was inspired:

Does this layout look familiar?  I was also inspired by the sketch for the current Calling All Sistahs Encouragement Challenge!  You should check it out and play along!

As soon as I saw this die I imagined it like this... well... with some pretty colors and flowers anyway!  I started with one of the dies from the Lovely Links Fri-Dies.  I love the way it peeks out from underneath it all.  Then the largest tag from the Scallop Tags Fri-Dies.

Then I cut a few of the flowers and leaves using the Garden Fri-Dies.  I just LOVE these flowers!  My favorite thing to do is to use a similar color for both layers, but one at least a little darker than the other.  I also like to only glue down the outside edges and let the inner parts pop up just a bit for some fun dimension.  I attached the flowers with various thicknesses of pop-up tape.

I cut the Hope die cut out of some white glitter paper.  Boy I just LOVE that word die!!  I used some very thin popup tape on the flower parts and some thicker in the center... so the Hope floats... :)

I just scattered a few clear drops around and considered it finished.   For me this is one I just can't stop looking at!   Be sure to check out all of my teamies projects for today!  You can start here! Lots of deliciousness! This one may have some calories!

If you're not familiar with CAS-ual Fridays owner, Michele's, story, you should definitely check that out here!  It's a story that is all too familiar to some and one that not enough of us know.  This Big Hope die release has a special meaning for Michele as today marks her third year Cancer Free!  That's pretty awesome and hope you'll join us in a huge group hug and high five to Michele!  Yay to her for being the fighter she is and the most wonderful woman that she is!   I for one am so happy and honored to be designing for her and look forward to getting to knowing her better!

And don't forget to have a go at the CAS18 Sketch!  You can read more about the meaning for the Calling All Sistahs challenge here and how Michele is trying to reach out to more people and spread the word.  There is a whole line of stamps and dies from the CAS-ual Fridays shop that are dedicted to raising awareness about Breast Cancer.  50% of the profits from this collection are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to suppert Breast Cancer Awareness programs.  You can check out this line of products here!
